Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

I woke up a little before sunrise. I got out from under my blanket and climbed out of the small reed shelter i had built. The small creek near by had provided excelent materials for the tent. Stepping out i noticed that the air was a bit cold today. It was aproaching summer, but being high in the mountains kept things fairly cool. Still I should need fewer blankets soon.

I stretched a bit yawning to get rid of the last of slerps heavyness. I mumbled to myself, "It is tonight isn't it... sigh well better check the supplies". Lookong things over I nodded to myself, "Enough for two more weeks at least. Good good... ..... I am talking to myself again... I have been alone out here too long I think, but then it is to dangerous to go to a town. I am a danger..." I slap my cheeks "Enough of that better get going."

I grabbed the only pot I had a ladel inside of it and filled it at the creek near my small camp. After filling it I washed myself a little noticing my clothes were getting fairly worn. I would have to hope the beast in me would leave some of it's kills intact enough to make more.

Grabing the pot I took it back to camp. My fire was dead so I had to take some kindling and wood from my supply and started a jew one in the fire pit. Once it was going I hing the pot of water over it to boil. My suplies dwindled as I took dried meat, vegaltables and some roots. I cut them on a clean flat rock I used as a cutting board and tossed them in the soon boiling pot of water. The sun had risen at this point and the air was warming up.

After it was ready I ate my meal in a small hand craved bowl and spoon I had made. The stew I made was not he most flavorfull, but it at least was filling. While eating I made sure to keep listening to the sounds around me. So many things could hurt me out here and I was scared of them all... jot because they could kill me ... my beast side refused to let that happen, but the pain and loss of controll to the beast was terrible. "I hate not being in control", I mumbled to myself.

Having finished the meal I went back to creek and rinsed my bowl. Soon I was walking out to do my daily tasks. I had been unprepared when I first had to flee the tribe, but I had gotten better at surving in the wild. I was a terrible hunter, but I didm nage to make some basic traps for snall creatutees. I walked around checking my traos to see if iwas lucku today. At thd same tine I checked various spots for any mushrooms or other wild edible plants. I was pleased finding a rew herbs that could be used to add some sweetness to my next meal, but I had no luck with my traps this morning.

I went back to camp near noon and started makong lunch. It was a simple meal of cold meat and soke tangy roots. I wish I coild have some bread, but I was no baker. While I ate I noticed my legs which were becoming more toned. It was hard for me to gain muscle so I smiled a bit at the sight of the progress. I supposed it was one benifit of living in the wild like this.

After the meal I found a shady ridge that gave a nice view of the land and settled down. I unrolled a small leather mat and set a few things up. I took out a bage and poured out a small bit of precious incense into a small stone cup. A warm coal at the bottom started it bruning. I settled down and tried to meditate likecthe wise man of my village had once demonstrated. I had always listened to all the tales he told and had made it my habit to recite as many as I could to myself each afternoon. I had little knowledge of what wsnt into shamanism, but I figured trying to work it lut might be my best chance of controlling the beast in me. Meditating was hard and I kept getting distracted by sounds thar caised my heart to race in fear. Still after several hours I felt a little progess had been made... "I hope this works soon... am I makong progress?" My doubts and questions unanswered I truged back to camp. My steps heavy as the sin set behind me. The full mokn would ne rising in just an hour or so. I coild feel it in my bones. "I will lose my self again tonight. Better take off the clothes to keeo them from being destroyed."

An hour latter I was naked as the moon rose and as I saw the first beams I felt the changes. It bever took long, but it felt so slow. The start with the itching of the skin that slowly shifted to a light bruning sensation. The fur growing in. Next the painful snaping and stretching feeling as bones shifted and changed against my will. The wierd reeling of the fox tail growing out. The final things was the shifting of my face and head.... I lose myself just moments after this. Please do not let...

I awake and smell then night. I feel strong and swift tonigh under the moon. I will survive despite the weak me. First I must hunt and fill my stomach. I hear and scent a deer... yes food meat on such things. I move swiftly in the shadows and aproach the meal. It doesxnot noticd me until it is too late. I leap and it jumps. My jaws close on it's neck and claws on it's side. It stops moving. A good kill. I eat until satisfied. I take the reamons to nest for eating later. The weak me at least knows how to do this.

I then patrol my lands. The weak me has made a nest so this territory is mine. No other will habe it wothout a fight. We have been here for at least six moons now and thus I am getting to know the land. I am careful though be quite. There are bigger things than me out there or so instinct tells me. Be careful and do not be caught by the bigger things. The bigger things fall easier when surprised.

Soon the patrol is done it makes me proud to have a good territory. I range outside my territory looking for the last thing I need. A mate. I have teritory, but no mate... saddly the night passes without sucess. It is season for mating, but no females are here. I return and curl up in nest waiting for next moon. I will find mate next time maybe. Happy dream and thought.

I awake the next morning and quickly look things over. It seems this was a mild moon. Only a dead deer sits outside my tent. My hands have some caked blood and perhaps it is just my imagination, but I still taste a bit of iron ... of blood in my mouth. "WHEN WILL I BE FREE OF THIS CURSE!" I cry out, but no anwser returns. I just have to start my day again.
