| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The shaman hissed. Take a vacation, they sayss. Go to Norwood, they sayss. The Elvess will be making merriment thiss time of year they says. Bah! Irritably, Silvas rode atop Crona, a large red raptor of sorts who was enjoying both the moisture in the air and the warmth. Or, in short, the humidity. Silvas was more or less indifferent, though he couldn't complain. Being a reptile himself, it was certainly preferably to being cold. Most things were. Things like being gored and killed weren't though, in case there was any confusion. Ssstupid mammalss and their ssstupid homeosstasiss. They trudged through the forest on one of several roads cut into the forest floor, water splashing with every step Crona took. Silvas could only assume there had been a recent and decently heavy rain in these parts, as the water was slow in being absorbed into the earth. Which only added to the humidity. Every once in a while, the raptor would duck down and talk a gulp of the water. Silvas grunted at this, occasionally relenting and taking a swig of water from his waterskin himself. Vacation wasn't the only reason for traveling to Norwood, for the lizard shaman had commissioned a staff be made using a component from Istan City. The Istani component had been sent ahead several weeks, and the lizard was just now nearing where he could pay for and pick it up. If, bandits hadn't got to it first. In which case he complain to the Istani Merchant that guaranteed the item's safety, and would muddy the man's name should he not replace it. Being an ambassador of sorts for his people had some pull, albeit mainly is Istan. Silvas hissed again in aggravated impatience. He should have just listened to his gut and had the staff made in Istan. How he had let that fat mammalian blob convince him the craftsmanship of staff would be superior in Norwood, at the cost of more coin, would be well worth his time? "Filthy, ssweaty, two-legged lard bucket!" Silvas barked aloud in heavily accented common. Edited by Silvas, Thu May 5, 2016 12:13 am.

Despite her elven blood, she rarely came to Norwood. Most elves did not look to keenly upon those with demon pacts, even when they were a blind woman. If the pact had only not caused her to grow a set of horns, she could have blended in with little difficulty. Then again, demon pacts rarely went the way anyone wanted, except for the demon. Even blinded, she still could make her way through the paths in Norwood with relative ease. She had thought about hiring a guide simply to not attract too much attention to her apparent ease of movement. Then she decided against it, figuring the horns would draw more attention to her than any guide would. Up ahead in the road she her another traveler. She listened closely as she drew nearer and nearer. Whoever it was, it was clear he was not elf or human. There was something different about his scent and heart beat that she had not sensed in other intelligent creatures before. It was almost....reptilian? As she drew close enough to be in speaking range, the creature let out a rather unique insult. "Now now....that's not a very nice thing to say to someone you have never met," she said with a playful tone in her voice. |

The shaman hissed and turned sharply towards the direction of the voice, instinctively reaching for the staff that was not present on his person. He flexed the hand that had reached for it in irritation, wary of the stranger. The horns bothered him not, her sudden appearance did. Crona, on the other hand just stared at the horned elf with my mild interest, before taking another gulp of water from the ground. Relaxing slightly, Silvas responded to her playful statement. "Yess, well, I'm sure you'd be jusst asss dissgussted with the plump fool asss I am. Hisss greed iss matched only by hisss gluttony. I'll be better off when my bussinesss with the pig iss concluded." He shifted in his saddle, finding a more comfortable spot for his rump. He eyed the elf, noting that she would probably be seen as attractive by humans and elves, provided they weren't opposed to the horns. Horns weren't a problem for Silvas, then again he was also reptilian, so his objection lay with the warmth of her blood and the stupidly soft skin that "protected" her. Shaking the thought from his head before his biased views led to conflict, the lizard asked her "I take it you are headed to the village as well? Best we not dawdle in the road if so, tends to invite unwelcome company." |
