His flesh bears the pallor of the dead, yet it binds his lean muscle tightly. His hair, soft like snow but the colour of ash, hangs loose and wild to his shoulders when not tied back with a ribbon of dark green reminiscent of the first spring bloom. His eyes, like dark honey, are tawny-coloured and seem to glow even in the darkest places and times. A black tabard adorns him, bound by a sash of crimson; so, too, do plum-coloured breeches tucked into boots of badly cracked, dark-brown leather that just seem just barely held together. A hefty purse concealed behind the sash completes his attire. There is little to decorate this man, yet he is not a man that is easily missed. One word tends to settle upon the lips of those who whisper about this dark stranger, a tall man with a slow, loping gait who appears to be as careless of his surroundings as a bird is of the ground: “dangerous”.
The locals have no idea.

| Father | Star Elf
| | Mother | Lamia
| | Species | Aswang (pronounced “oss-VANG”)
| | Full Name | Javin Kinterheim (pronounced “YAV-in KIN-ter-hyme”)
| | Strengths | Javin is what many who confuse him with a vampire would call a “day-walker”, meaning that he has no weakness to sunlight. Contrary to popular belief, he also has no weakness to silver; gold; iron; or pewter - metals typically associated with the slaying of the supernatural and unnatural, serpentine monsters and creatures, and fae. His senses are far keener than those of a mortal; he is also possessed of superior physical prowess. He is considered ageless, and there is only one known method of permanently killing him: beheading followed by impalement of the skull through the neck (top of skull must be pierced); burning of the body; and scattering of the body’s ashes at sea. All other methods - and there have been many tried - have failed. Drinking the living blood of a sentient individual heals him. He is no more vulnerable to fire or heat than a mortal, although neither is he any more resistant.
| | Weaknesses | Javin can be burned by salt, onions, and garlic; he can also be burned by holy water. He cannot set foot upon sacred earth or hallowed ground. A strike to the heart will shock his body, reducing him to the sensory and physical prowess of a mortal for several hours after the removal of whatever impaled his heart. Although he can drink animal blood with no issues, his body consumes it far too quickly to be of any significant use; only living blood taken directly from a sentient individual can sate his incessant hunger. | [/tab] [tab=Flaws]| Flaws |

| Dislike of Nobility | Javin holds a very dim view of nobility. He considers them to be little more than bullies, cowards, and thieves with wealth and power. He does not always make his loathing of them known, however, as he is well aware of what those in power are capable of.
| | Hedonistic | Javin loves a good time. He drinks like a fish, dances until everyone else collapses, and is easily absorbed into the hypnotic allure of music. He finds it difficult to resist an invitation to join someone in a drink, especially if attractive men will be present, and he has a nasty habit of shirking his appointed or agreed-upon duties when offered a more enjoyable time elsewhere.
| | Reaction Penalty | The collective first impression when meeting Javin is typically that he’s dead, owing to the fact that his heart does not function normally; when he drinks blood, his stomach pumps the blood to his heart and his heart in turn pumps the blood to wherever it is needed. There’s also the fact that he draws breath only when he speaks, the pallor of his flesh, and the lack of any distinctive colour in his hair. He is often described as “rope-thin”, which certainly doesn’t help with others’ first visual impression of him.
| | Weakness | Javin tends to have a blind spot where particularly pretty men are concerned. | [/tab] [tab=Languages]| Languages |

| Attire | Javin wears now what he was wearing upon the ship that once enslaved him: travel-worn boots of dark-brown leather, softened from wear and tear over the years; plum-coloured breeches given to him by his former captain/master to promote uniformity upon the ship; and a simple black tabard. Since coming to Imythess, however, he has obtained a red sash that he wears around his waist (obtained from a man he killed in self-defense in a Kellen tavern); bound tightly, it contains the purse that he took from a man he killed before he ever reached Kellen (a man from whom, along with his wife and very young daughter, he drank copious quantities of blood to heal and refresh himself). He also acquired a green ribbon from a girl in Hillpeak, a barbarian village in the Gwilikith Mountains whose defenses he helped to fortify in return for drink and a room; she was young and innocent, reminding him guiltily of the girl he murdered while blinded by hunger, and gave him the ribbon (which he uses to tie back his hair) as part of a celebration of spring that the barbarians were preparing. | [/tab][/tabs]
