Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Taras was too big of a constructed place for Foray to start. As wondrous as it had become to learn about, even the trees and the grass that were carefully planted and built around could offer little help to navigate the sprawling urban landscape. The magical squirrel practically fled the city for the familiarity of his home in Calmonah Woods, but stopped himself short of completely abandoning interaction with civilization and its unique ecosystem. All there was in Calmonah was druids, some of which were the same radicals that had convinced the large woodland critter to use his magical powers against woodcutters in the first place. Having learned so much from the plants in Taras, Foray was not sure that he wanted to return to such creatures.

Fortunately he knew of a different place that he could go, one not nearly as overwhelming as Taras, that was built closely with nature in mind and inhabited by people that most wildlife in the woods could consider friendly. The villages in Norwood.

It did not take long for the squirrel to find his way to one of the treetop villages with help from the trees guiding him. The first thing he did when he arrived at the base of the trunk of one of the trees that held the village high above the ground was inquire from it about the place it supported. According to the tree the village was a peaceful place generally lacking any sort of excitement. They tended to the trees, kept them free of destructive pests such as termites and free of corrupting rot. It was hardly plentiful information, the tree being a sleepy sort that went through life in a sort of haze, but it was enough to convince Foray to climb up its trunk and see if the village was a good place for him to start interacting with civilization.

The village wasn't quite as treetopping as Foray had anticipated, rather sitting somewhere above the lower canopy of leaves and branches to mostly obscure its presence from the ground. Up above were leaves that filtered the light from the sun up above with beautiful greens, casting soft shadows with the occasional splotches of undiluted sunlight spilling in with any light breeze that caressed the leaves. The floor and the buildings seemed to flow with the branches and the trunks of the trees that they were built upon, with windows being little more than cloth covering holes for those who wanted to keep the outside world from peering inside.

The villagers that were around where Foray had first laid a pad from his furry foot onto the wooden floor stopped and stared, him being a very unusual sight even by the standards of dire squirrels in Norwood. The fur covering his body fur was light gray of a Northern squirrel, the lines on his back glowed softly green, but the most unusual thing about his appearance was the pants that he wore. To the villagers knowledge, squirrels didn't wear pants.

"Hello."
Foray waved one of his dexterous forepaws at the onlookers, hoping to at least get somebody to greet him in return.
