Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Vyse's vision was blurry, he had come to the forest for some light camping, taking another break after his help in a war. He had spent a glorious week in the woods before running into a group of fifty or so bandits, his luck was strong, it would be a good fight. That was until two of them proved to be master swordsmen with unknown magic swords. He had fought them all, killing them, even taking the two magic swords for his own, but the battle had been a pyrrhic victory, enough spears and arrows were in him to make him look like a human porcupine hybrid, he was surprised he had so much trouble, these new magic swords packed a hell of a wallop.

Vyse's eyes barely saw anything besides blobs, the color red, and darkness, he had no idea he had wandered into a village, he had no idea that he had passed out, and worst yet, he had no idea what to call his new swords!

He woke up, wrapped in bandages, and his blades were a few feet off, resting in the scabbards he had taken from the corpses. He began to sit up and groaned, his wounds were still healing... he must not have activated his berserker healing trance. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, releasing the power of his blood. The wounds would heal much faster now, but he would still need a few minutes before actually trying to walk around. With that he laid back down, staring at the ceiling.

She scrunched up her eyes at the handkerchief, wrinkles growing at the corners. Blood marred the white cloth's merry embroidery of a border of hares running through flowers, the edges dried but the center still moist from pressing against a fresh wound. There was a reason the witches of the Hills were cautious with their hair and nail clippings. One could learn much from such shed bits of their bodies, and blood could teach so much more.

And this blood was peculiar.

"You ain't gonna learn more about it just by staring at it," A short plump woman said, trotting over to the table where the first woman sat with the cloth, holding a plate of muffins. The first woman, tall and rake thin, grunted in reply.

Pots, knickknacks, and lace filled the kitchen where they two sat, all of it feeling a cheery shade of pink despite the sparseness of pink items besides a family of smiling piggybanks on one shelf. It all also, somehow remained clean and dust free, as though it were a showroom for the ideal grandmother's abode. The pink aura grated on the tall, thin, woman, but she ignored it in favor of the bloodstain and the muffins.

"Learn anything from scrying?" she asked, her eyes still focused on the kerchief. Crumbs flew from her mouth.

"Saw some. It gets jiggerdy at one point. Made my eyes spin staring. He lives on that floating city place with a bunch of cats, the big sort. Not sure where they're at, but put the word out to save some game in case they show up. Big on fighting and parties, and definitely has some sort of weird malady in his blood, but seems to have that sorted out for now."

"Explain 'jiggerdy,' please."

"You know," the shorter witch said, putting down the teapot she carried to the table to wave her hands. "'Jiggerdy.' Something happened. Something big. It gets jumbled and blurred and sketchy and, if you keep going after that bit, it stops. Definitely need more than your usual scrying setup to look past it."

"Might be part of why it's peculiar, but doesn't explain where Shan comes into it."

"Saw Shan in some of the bits. Seems he goes to the parties and knows him, but can't say why it's so tight in there either." She poured the two of them tea, and sipped loudly at her cup after huffing on the steaming top. "Think I should get Annie now or...?"

"Not until we get things sorted a bit more, no," the tall witch said, holding her cup with no intention of drinking until it cooled to her satisfaction. "She's a good witch, but we're her seniors. Also can't guarantee her head'll stay level if-"

She stopped midsentence, straightening her posture even more as she appeared to listen. The fatter witch still sipped loudly, but her focus seemed to lay beyond.

"That ain't mine," she said midslurp.

"Might be best to check on your patient, then," the taller witch said, her only movement a hand snaking back toward the muffins.

The short witch sighed. "I suppose so." She gulped down the rest of the tea, smacked her lips in satisfaction, and troddled out of the kitchen and into the far room where, surrounded by more strange curios and souvenirs from traveling descendants, a man laid in bandages under the covers of a thick, comfy quilt depicting hens and a central rooster. She smiled, the lines of her face making it larger than any mouth could manage.

"Well! Looks like you're awake, dear!" she said happily, waddling into the room. "Don't worry about your things, they're right over there, and I didn't see anything I hadn't seen a thousand times before, though yours are quite handsome to look at." She winked. "Now, you aren't doing anything magicky to ruin old Nanny Tuttle's work fixing you up, are you?"

Vyse looked over at the kindly older woman and smiled, "Nothing magic, my own blood heals me naturally and I'm a natural berserker, I can heal my wounds really fast when I concentrate." He slowly sat up, only giving a small grunt from the effort, "Sorry about all of this, those bandits I killed had those magic swords when I fought them, gave them a bigger advantage than I thought."

He concentrated on his healing for a minute before speaking again, "I'm Vyserial Bellator Noclan, Head of the Noclan Merchants Company, but I prefer to be called Vyse." He offered her his hand to shake.

He looked around, "Where am I anyway? I just remember falling into my Bloodwrath, killing around fifty bandits, and then stumbling around for a while. Oh well, at least I'm still able to wield a blade." He slowly readied himself, standing up slowly to make sure nothing was to damaged. His multiple healing factors were already at work restoring his body, but now he felt like he needed a good work out.

He stretched himself, looking over his heavily bandaged body, he had a pair of shorts on, but besides that it was all bandages. He began to slowly unravel the bandages, "I'll be fine now, thanks Miss Tuttle, but I really need to work up a sweat, I don't feel right unless I do some swordsmanship training after a good nap. I don't know what I can do to repay this debt, but just name it and I'll do it."

"You're in a little place called Sten's Creek, and call me Nanny...or April if you wish." Nanny Tuttle winked, the smile growing wider across her face.

"Don't flirt with patients, you old bother!" another voice echoed from down the hall.

"And if you're truly feeling better, we have many things a strapping young man could do to help out around here. There's always wood to chop, Mister Warwick's mending the fence for his goat farm-"

"The mill needs foundations reset after that last rain," the voice from down the hall shouted.

"Plowing's just started, so clearing stones from the fields is something plenty of our farmers would like. Could work for weeks on that."

"Or!"

"Or, well, if you'd like, we've a few questions for you concerning a bit we gleaned from you healing you up. You wouldn't happen to know a somewhat bothersome redheaded fiddler? He seems to have some sort of connection to you, is all."

Vyse felt his legs weaken, he was forced to sit down again, leaning back as he sighed, he was to weak to try anything reckless. When they mentioned the work, Vyse knew he'd probably end up breaking more things than helping, but when they mentioned a red headed fiddler... Vyse's eyes narrowed, "You were poking around in my head weren't you? I'm not super smart, but I haven't mentioned him and your voice is far to sure for it to be a guess. I've run into far to many assassins and killers with a penchant for poking around my mind to find my weaknesses, flaws in my techniques, or any other information. Next time, ask me before you poke around in my head, I can understand this time as I was a possibly dangerous individual."

He closed his eyes, "The fiddler's name is Shan Orison, he's my best friend. I invite him to my place for dinner and drinks whenever he's in Cascadia, I invite him to my parties. He's a dear friend that I saved from a black dragon, I helped him get his fiddle back when it was stolen, he helped me live through a few assassination attempts. Without him I doubt I'd have been healthy enough to survive my fall off of Cascadia and live. I also know he's got the worst luck I've ever seen... so every time we meet up we can have a little adventure, it's always a good time when Shan's around." He opened his eyes and gave her a broad smile, "He's seen the worst and best of me and still calls me friend, I'm proud to know him."

Nanny Tuttle watched quietly, the smile still there, but her warm eyes felt a bit too hot, like hovering a hand over a hot oven full of bread. When Vyse reached the end, she huffed back into a seat beside the bed, the hand away from the oven and free to enjoy its warmth at its leisure.

"Yup, that's Shan!" She said. "And don't worry about your head, dear. We only used a bit of your blood to scry your past. Gotta learn who we're treating, after all, and it wasn't like you weren't sharing it with everyone. We're not in the habit of digging into people's heads."

"Too mushy!" yelled the other woman.

"Still would have gotten a better answer if we did. Your past gets a bit...vanished up to a certain point. Hides a lot of what you just said, though there's the bit where it seems Shan's playing and then gets very angry you arrive at some event. Still fuzzy there, though."

"Now then, if you do want to go for a short walk," she said, the weakness surrounding Vyse lifting a bit. "I've some goodies in the kitchen to snack on, assuming Granny didn't eat them all."

"I have not!" the other woman, Granny shouted back to the calm statement. Rapid smacking and swallowing happened afterward, then nothing.

"And if you're worried about Shan, don't be. In truth, we wanted to make sure to protect him from you." Nanny stood on rubbery knees to offer a hand. "Even got some fresh lemonade, if that tickles you."

Protect them from him? It almost made him laugh, a few old magic users versus a guy that slays dragons as a hobby? They'd have to be extremely powerful to stop him. His dizziness disappeared, and with that he stood up, his tiger tail slipping out and waving from side to side as he stretched, "I could use just something to chew on, get the taste of blood out of my mouth." He snatched up his swords and carried them with him, taking a muffin and slowly eating it, "Thanks for healing me up, as for my blood... you might want to get rid of it. See, my bloodline comes from a line of berserkers that lived in Kalack. The Land God there gave them a blessing when the berserkers were still farmers, a blessing of Water to keep their fields perfectly moist all year 'round. Unfortunately one of the rulers of the island was murdered by one of his relatives and most of his family was sacrificed to the Land God, corrupting it and all of it's blessings. Turning my ancient ancestors into Berserkers with the Curse of Bloodwrath."

He rolled his shoulders, finishing his muffin off before continuing on, "So the curse of Bloodwrath has been passed down to every male of the Bellator bloodline. I recently dealt with the problem, I killed the Corrupted Land God and destroyed it's alter so it could never come back. Some other spirit will have to step up to become Land God, but now the curse of Bloodwrath ends with my blood, and with the Corrupted Land God dead, it can never influence me when I enter my Bloodwrath, I'm just me all the time now."

He smiled to them and bowed, "If you'll excuse me, I need to move a bit, see if I'm in fighting condition." With that he walked out, he was still only wearing a pair of shorts, but that was fine. He took the bandages off and showed his form, he was surprisingly thin looking, but his muscles looked like they had been sculpted, they were not something someone got just from lift weights, they had gotten that way from years of martial training, the scars that criss-crossed his body proved that.

A knot of scarred tissue and two massive scars on his back stood out, especially the knot which appeared on his stomach and back, as if something had punched clean through him. He drew his swords and laid the scabbards on the bandages. He began moving through his routine, parry to slash, slash to thrust, mix in a feint, move faster. He kept on moving, even when he felt something strain, a moment later it felt better, his attacks became more complex, twisting and turning, becoming a maelstrom of blows, finally he finished it with a large slash to the side, sending out a crescent moon of flames. Vyse whistled as the flames traveled for a bit before disappearing.

He looked down at the swords, the scimitar looked like a bar of solid flame, while the longsword looked like ice. With a thought they changed colors, the Longsword seemed change to the color of moist earth, while the scimitar seemed to hold inside of it swirling green winds. Vyse nodded, "Now these are impressive blades."

"Ummm, Mister Noclan...?" an uncertain voice called out. Beyond the woven garden fence, two young women, identical except one work blue and black and the other white and gold, watched Vyse with wide eyes and flushed faces. "Hi!" the one in blue said, waving. Her other hand supported a bundled of folded cloth.

"I don't know if you remember us, Mister Noclan," the one in gold said. "We met you at one of your parties?"

"Ebony and Ivory? Shan's cousins?"

"Two of the less hairy ones!"

The one in gold and white, possibly Ivory, leaned over the fence, extending the cloth. "We had to make guesses, so it might not fit perfectly, and it's more an alteration of a design we had on hand, but we have replacement clothing for you."

"It's as close to the blue of your outfit as possible," The one in blue and black, perhaps Ebony, added with a grin. "Or what we think it was. The, um, blood might have thrown us off."

"If you could try it on, we'd love to see how we did on it."

"And, um...the sooner the better."

"Yes, sooner is best. It's a bit...."

"Distracting?"

"Seeing that...."

Ivory pointed back toward the house. The wrinkled, grinning face of Nanny Tuttle, her elbows propped up on the windowsill, peered out.

"Oh, don't mind me!" She said, waving and smiling. "Don't want to get those nice clothes sweaty, do you?" Her eyes sparkled with mischievous giddiness.

"Yes," Ivory said. "Distracting is the word."

Vyse turned his head at the voice and gave the twins a small smile, "Yes, I remember. You two were wearing such beautiful clothing that every guy in the room couldn't help but stare. As for the clothes I'm sure they're fine."

When they mentioned the reason, Vyse felt a small chill run down his spine. He gave them a nervous laugh as he dressed, "Right... I'm used to people peeking from rooftops from across the street or climbing up part of the wall in my backyard to peek at me while training. At least Nanny Tuttle has more pure reasons than some of the women I've met. I've got a little scar around my heart from where a woman tried to kill me, I thought I had just given her a bad date, turns out she was just an assassin. Ah, but that story is rather boring, I mean I didn't even come close to dying, I heal at a ridiculous pace."

The clothes weren't that ill fitting, if he had his chainmail shirt with him sure it'd be uncomfortable. He gave them a wide grin, "Fits fine. As for my other jacket... well it'll be missed, it served me well. Maybe I should commission a few jackets from you two. Last time we met I believe I was told you two are fashion designers. My normal guy is... well, he's sick of repairing all the jackets, pants, suits, vests, and all manner of clothes that I end up tearing to shreds during my treks and training exercises. So if you two are interested, perhaps we could talk about that while you show me around. I'd love to see more of this place."

He was ready to move forward when he decided it was time to ask a probably dumb question, "Which one of you is which...? I'd rather not get you confused and I get the feeling... Ebony is wearing the lighter colors while Ivory is wearing the darker colors." He hoped he was right, it'd be a bit embarrassing to not know which was which.

They both laughed and clapped. "You're right today!" Ivory said.

"You wouldn't be everyday, though," Ebony said. "And it does look quite good on you, although..." She glanced at her sister.

"Although...it isn't tailored at all," Ivory finished, her voice losing the giggling tone, evening out as she spoke to her twin.

"The pants are a bit baggy at the hip," Ebony added. The two began to circle Vyse, their eyes rolling up and down his frame, but never seeming to acknowledge the body beneath the clothes besides its use as a frame.

"And the shoulders are entirely off."

"The legs should be hemmed up a bit so they don't drag."

"And I don't recall the tail at all."

"We have a lot of ideas for that for our other cousins, so it wouldn't take long to fix depending on what you'd like."

"So!" Ivory declared, wrapping one arm around Vyse's left arm.

"So!" Ebony echoed, hooking her own arm around Vyse's right.

"We must go back to the workshop!" Ivory called out. Her free arm pointed outward away from Nanny's cottage toward a cleared path down the hill.

"It won't take but a moment! Come on!"

"Come! Come!" The two dragged Vyse down the path, smiling and chattering to each other about stitching and materials, turning from time to time to wave at Nanny Tuttle, who waved a pink handkerchief back. Five minutes walk out, however, the two quieted, glanced around the empty path, then stared up at Vyse, their tone as serious as it had been when they appraised his new clothes.

"You're Shan's friend, we know," Ebony said, still looking about for any eavesdroppers.

"And you must be good friends, since we heard they weren't releasing you until you explained how you knew Shan."

"We would have, but I think we got a bit too excited with your outfit. It was designed for...another purpose. You're a bit more...muscular than the original wearer."

"Speaking of which, we need to ask you something very important. You should answer not just as Shan's friend, but a critic."

"So, what did you think of Shan's outfits in the last tournament?" Ebony asked, nearly bouncing with excitement.

"We've never been able to ask someone frankly before, you see," Ivory explained. "I think we came out strong with our first ensemble."

"The pink was more of a joke. We're family, after all, but the design's pretty sleek in our opinions."

"I still think the pink was nice."

"Not all pink."

"It was shades of pink!"

"Even as a joke, we need to show restraint."

"Vyse, help settle this, please!" Ivory implored. "What do you think? Be honest!"

The two were like a whirlwind of activity when it came to clothes, they began to drag Vyse away until he consented and walked with them. He gave them a confused look when they mentioned Shan being in tournaments. Vyse gave them a small laugh, "What are you talking about? Shan's never been in... tournaments." But there was one man that had worn pink and fought using bardic arts in a tournament. He had given an alias and Vyse had even told Shan he wanted to fight the man, one on one.

When they said Shan was in the tournament in pink... it made quite a bit of sense. The man was fast, quick witted, and could fight using magic alongside music, all of these things he knew Shan could do. Vyse sighed, "So the mysterious alias using bard was Shan right? He didn't tell me, but I should have been able to figure it out... Shan isn't the kind of guy to enter a tournament for no reason, but I can understand why he kept it a secret. After all, I told him I wanted to fight the mysterious bard and back then I was more monster than man when I fought."

Vyse sighed again, "As for clothes I thought it was a bit to flamboyant for my tastes. I prefer dark simple colors. Browns, blacks, and blues to be specific. I would have to say showing restraint has it's moments... but if you're gonna do something like a first time show or product, it needs to be big, it needs to be loud, it needs to be eye catching. So for a first attempt, I'd say being bright and colorful would definitely make people curious as to who made it, after that if you show them variety to cover up what fears they may have, you should be able to start selling off custom jobs. Oh, right, blabbering, I'm not much of a merchant but I am learning. Sorry, but yeah, I think it was nice to look at but not to my tastes."

Vyse could feel some eyes watching them, it was a sixth sense he had developed during his days of training, someone was always watching him. Vyse grinned, "You two must have a lot of admirers, feels like a few eyes are boring into the back of my head."

Vyse laughed at their argument, or so they thought, until he asked his own question. They both froze and turned white. "Uh..." Ivory began.

"He....hasn't! Shan's never done any tournaments ever," Ebony said with a wide smile that didn't reach her worried eyes.

"It's a joke! We're jokers! Haha!" Ivory added, her laugh sounding forced.

"So the mysterious alias using bard was Shan right? He didn't tell me, but I should have been able to figure it out..."

They both rubbed their hands together, shifting worried looks from each other to Vyse as he continued. They promised to keep the secret. They knew Vyse was a grand friend to Shan. Why wouldn't they think Shan shared his secret with Vyse? The suggestion that Vyse wanted to fight "Travis Smith" at least gave a strong hint. Vyse himself took the news in stride, shifting easily from his musings on Shan's secret to his opinions on the outfit in question.

"We...we're sorry," Ivory said. "We thought, since you were friends..."

"I suppose Shan didn't want to tell anyone. We read the news from Cascadia, and sort of found Shan's tournament outfit."

"We recognized it from the pictures. The illustrator was very true to form with the contestants' clothing."

"And we thought it'd be a way to secretly advertise, and sort of blackmailed him to enter again to model...." Ebony stared at her polished shoes.

"He kept it from everyone, not just you!" Ivory insisted. "So don't be mad at him!"

Silence passed for a time as they walked. "You two must have a lot of admirers, feels like a few eyes are boring into the back of my head," Vyse said with a wry smile. The twins glanced about, though any men about were busy with their own work or gabbing together. They did note the odd amount of young women who found chores to perform outside, all of them in the front yard with a line of sight toward them.

"I guess you could say..." Ebony began.

"One of us has a few admirers," Ivory finished with a grin.

"But we can handle it if you can," Ebony snickered. They raced ahead. "We're at the shoppe!"

"We haven't a name yet, but we're working on our craft first!" The shoppe in question looked to be a storage shed outside of a mill, whitewashed evenly and edged with quilted banners. Ivory opened it, letting more sunlight to filter in. Inside were wooden stands with branch arms secured to them, each acting as a mannequin for various projects. Standing inside, fiddling with the lace on a cuff, was a tall gangly man with red hair tied back into a growing tail, dressed in a plain white shirt, dark green vest, and brown pants. He looked up when the three entered and smiled.

"Vyse! You were the mystery visitor?" Shan asked, lopping toward him. "Figures they don't consult me, and sorry I didn't get into town before today. I was going to visit with my mother until these two dragged me away." He scowled at the twins, but couldn't hide the smirk on his face. "I hope my cousins didn't cause you too much trouble."

Vyse grinned as the entered, a familiar bard met them. Vyse laughed, "I wouldn't think they could cause trouble, except maybe for you with the whole tournament thing. As for seeing me... I don't even know how long I was unconscious, I killed a lot of bandits. I mean a lot of bandits, we're talking an easy fifty, had these magic swords with them, mine now though."

Vyse stepped forward, "You don't need to explain why you didn't tell me about you being Travis Smith, I'm sure it's not something to dwell on. Oh, I should tell you about some things, or maybe showing you is better."

With that his eyes began to slowly turn red... and began to glow. Vyse's grin became more savage, what flesh they could see seemed to go taut, as if his entire body was ready to be used to it's maximum potential. Vyse laughed, "No more Black Outs. No more madness, my Bloodwrath is under my complete control. No more vomiting blood, no more heart attacks, no more otherworldly forces whispering for me to kill people. And all I had to do to cure myself was to be kidnapped by a dragon, stranded on the continent of Kalack, kill an ancient corrupted Land God that was the origin of my Bloodwrath, and then destroy it's shrine. I think I might have also caused a riot or something. Oh, yeah, right, most important part I said, I kill a god."

His eyes slowly returned to normal, his muscles relaxed, "I can add 'Godslayer' to my list of titles. So the question is... what can I kill that's above a god?"

Shan's mind still raced on how to prevent a spar with Vyse when he saw the twisting of dark, red magic searing through the merchant as his eyes turned equally red.

Well, now we worry about keeping everyone in Sten's Creek alive, his second thoughts said.

Shan's violin rested in his hand, the bow poised to play and his voice to shout for his cousins to flee when Vyse gave a laugh, one of mirth and not psychotic rage. He explained how he'd defeated the Bloodwrath curse in his bloodline, apparently restoring it to whatever form it originally held, meaning he had the power in his veins, but also the control to use it safely. The god part felt far less noteworthy than the scare he'd given Shan.

"Is...everything alright?" Ebony asked, staring at Shan's battle ready stance nervously. "He just said he won't attack you."

"Oh, um, yeah, sorry," Shan said, dropping the violin and letting the strategy to fight and - dear gods, Shadow - kill Vyse if he needed to protect his home. "That, though, I really think telling me would have been better, Vyse. I nearly gave you a heart attack."

"What sort of god did you kill, by the way, Vyse?" Ivory asked. "A local Land God, you said, so possibly you'd need to move up to a larger one of some aspect of existence itself, though that'd go poorly for everyone, even if it could be bothered to show up in corporeal form long enough for you to catch a glimpse of it."

"What sort of Land God can do that to blood, though?"

"And the dragon! I know you've met a few from Shan's songs, but what sort of dragon was this one? Was it like the one you slaughtered, or was it an ancient one like Nyx? Oh, she sounds majestic from how Shan tells it, and I'd die to see her scales in person!"

"Why would a dragon kidnap you? They tend to either ignore or simply eat humans, though there are tales of them abducting princesses to serve them. Did you dress as a princess to trick it?"

"If he did, the best gown would be a lavender one, don't you think?"

"I was thinking a dark green with blue accents, myself."

"Oh, true! He enjoys blue, so probably one with shades of blue."

"Darker at the bottom and brighter at the top?"

"Definitely! Oh, where's the sketchbook? We need to write this down!"

"The dress needs to be quite open. Not too tight, but not so large and heavy that it interferes with martial maneuvers."

"Tricky balance, that. And flowing sleeves!"

"What, no!"

"No, no, like this, formed until you get to the end, and then you have plenty of extra material to cut off for emergencies such as bandages, a sling, rope..."

"Ah, I see! And the same color pattern as the rest of the dress to blend in."

"Of course."

"They're....going to be awhile," Shan said as the twins chattered back and forth about their "Princess Vyse" outfit. "Mind stepping outside?"

Shan waited until the door shut behind Vyse, the two standing out in the arbor greens of his home, before he rounded on Vyse. "Seriously, Vyse, please tell me rather than show if you have more surprises like that. Do you know what I-" Shan stopped, breathing so his reddened face could face back to its usual tanned complexion. "This is...this is my home. That's my family in there. I just...I really don't want to fight you, Vyse. That's a big reason I didn't tell you about Travis, or anyone, really. Those two just figured it out."

Vyse didn't even realize his mistake, but the conversations afterwards helped him realize it. One, he should never talk about clothes in front of the twins, they tend to just go off into their own little world, and there was no way in hell he was going to bother thinking about dresses.

The second thing was he had made his very normal minded friend confront a very dark part of Vyse's history. When Shan went off on how this was his actual home, Vyse sighed, "Sorry Shan. I didn't know this was your actual... ya know, home. I also forgot compared to my other friends you're very... well, normal. You get scared of horrible monsters, you think logically, while I am very... abnormal, I see a giant monster and I think of how to kill it. So I'm sorry, I really need to think these kinds of things through."

He slumped down and ended up sitting on the ground, "Sometimes I think killing these monsters, demons, angels, and all manner of dangerous creatures is slowly warping my sense of normality. Hell, one of my friends attacked me in my house because I told her she could fight me at any time, and to me I thought it was 'good fun'."

He looked out into the distance and saw someone peaking out at him from behind the trees and houses a bit farther off. He pointed down towards them, "Is... uh... is it normal for so many people to spy on the new people around here?"
