| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Haizea Vipio Gender: Female Age: 19 Species: Eraiun Human - Part of the very small Cascadian population of eraiuns.
Class: Crane Witch (see Background below) Nationality: Cascadia Affiliation: Richimon Lake Languages Known: Chochmin (Native), Imythessian Common (Fluent) Appearance Height: 5' 3" Eyes: Black Hair: Bright red, short, almost shoulder-length Skin: Very pale, near-white Common Apparel: Always seen in public wearing a battered red, black and white mask. Rarely seen without a thick mantle covered in black and brown feathers. Has also been seen wearing pieces of scrap iron fashioned into crude armor and strapped over heavy layers of cloth and leather. These plates cover her chest and thighs, but not much else. Distinctive Marks: Thick, stylized stripes of black printed onto her cheeks, the nape of her neck, undersides of her arms, the small of her back, and her legs. Personality Concise Description:
Fighting Style: Attempts to wield a six-foot-long, five-inch-wide sword despite the weapon being cumbersome in most situations she finds herself in. When she does draw it, she tends to destroy nearby scenery. Her melee style relies on momentum. To focus her weak magic into her weapon, she paints patterns onto it. Miscellaneous Information:
Background Information Black-naped River Cranes: One of the largest nonmagical birds native to the Black River watershed. Richimon Lake and the surrounding area has long been a major nesting site for the cranes, which gather in the tens of thousands to use the slum rooftops as rookeries in the absence of natural habitat. In the wintertime, they move to the warmer areas outside of Cascadia's shadow. Their white and black feathers with red heads make them a beautiful sight in the countryside around Richimon, especially when the snow is falling. A rich mythology surrounds these cranes. Many Richimon locals, regardless of ethnic group, have some story or set of stories that usually paint these large birds as graceful, benevolent tricksters who teach valuable lessons to the wealthy and foolish. It is bad luck to kill a crane or remove a crane rookery from your roof. According to popular myth, the cranes are intelligent and can even shapeshift into humans during certain parts of the year. Crane Witches: Also called Cloaks of Springtime, crane witches are a type of hedgewitch found in the slums of Richimon and the Black River watershed. Every crane witch claims to have met the mythological Crane King and been blessed with a small piece of his power. Culturally speaking, crane witches are treated in a similar way to the cranes themselves -- and are even rumored to be able to shapeshift into cranes. They wield a modest amount of power that is highly versatile. Some common powers include blessing households, healing people, removing curses, calling upon animal totems, and vague fortune-telling. Chochmin: The Richimon Lake slumlands are home to a large variety of ethnic groups from surrounding or even distant regions, creating unexpected language and cultural barriers that are numerous. The Chochmin people are native to the Dragonspine foothills and are known for making a living as backcountry sheep herders. Haizea Vipio is Chochmin, and her native language (the one they use at home) is the Chochmin tongue. |
