Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

The night had finally come and she was alone in the location with Volare. (OOC: Leaving the description of the area up to Volare's post as you seem to have ideas with the entire fairy circle thing) The moon was gazing through the trees. It had not crested the trees yet and thus the clearing was still shadowy for the moment. It would probably take another ten to twenty minutes for it rise to the best position. Though the moon would be in a good position for hours after that point. So there was no need to rush.

She was fully shifted in her were form. She wore almost no clothing as it was both more natural and given how rough things would clothing would probably be destroyed. It helped that her fur was thick enough to provide some additional decency. In many ways she would be tapping her wild side far more than she normally would. Volare would be going through something even more extreme. She had told Volare that it would best to wear something disposable for this night, if she wore anything. She had waited to take most of her clothes off until just a few moments ago and she had not looked at Volare yet.

She spoke up to cover a last few things as the moon rose higher, "Alright it is almost time. When it happens you will first have to go through the pains of the changes. That is up to yourself to work through. What comes afterwards though is different. You will be in what is called moon madness. You will probably know I am an ally, but besides that you will have very little control of her yourself. You can try and fight a bit, but you will be on the loosing side most the time.

You will have .... instincts that will drive you. The first is survival which makes you assault anything you see as a threat and many things may look like threats. The second is sub part of survival, the desire to hunt for food. We can solve that with me trying to stop you... not guaranteed really. Neither of us would be unscathed, but both of us would heal... painful to say the least. Or two I hunt right before the bite.. you would feast on the...the fresh kill....

The final instinct is well to mate or at least seek that sort of release. It is weaker than the other two and I have heard most can resist this one or never get to it before the change is complete and they regain control, but you need to be prepared for the urge.

I suppose just tell me when you are ready and once it is done I will try and help you get used to ... well a new body."

Shirine was not entirely sure how well she could handle this. In truth this was the first time she had done this .... in her memory at least. Perhaps in her forgotten past there were other times, but she somehow didn't think so. Still she seemed to have knowledge of how it was done and some of the results... had she seen it done? She stopped worrying and wondered how Volare might react now that the night had finally come.

It was cold. The parts of her body that didn’t have goosebumps were…standing at attention, a more militaristically minded person might say. She forced herself not to shiver, though, as she stretched out the way she had been shown. She had gotten past the soreness of the past few days, which meant that she could focus fully on what was to happen tonight. Gazing up at the black sky, the clouds high above invisible but concealing the stars, she saw that there was only a single light up there this evening. The moon rose, shining through the trees. It was closer tonight than she had expected; was that natural? Perhaps…she was no astronomer. Its silver glow was brighter here than she expected as well. Being so far from Gwyllion now, she had not expected it to be as breath-takingly beautiful. She whispered a small prayer so quietly that not even Shirine would have been able to hear it, and that was quite a feat.

Finally, her eyes lowered to the mushrooms before her. She knew where they were but she couldn’t quite make them out, as dark as it was right now. Every so often, a beam of moonlight would strike a small cluster of them just right. But as the moon slowly began to crest the treetops, gazing down in all its glory upon those gathered in the Fairy Ring, the mushrooms began to take in the moonlight. As they did, they began to glow. It was subtle at first, dim, but gradually grew brighter until it seemed that the mushrooms had almost become a source of moonlight themselves. They were translucent, the mushrooms, and the glow was soft despite its clarity. Anyone looking upon them would have had to admit that it was a sight to be seen, and it was certainly something that filled Volare with warmth and homesickness and sadness and…

She shook herself - literally. She had to focus on the night’s coming event. She had stripped herself completely, her skin bared for all who would enter this place to see. It would not do to damage her magic-infused wardrobe simply for the sake of what she know she must do. Her fiery hair was once more in the triple-braid that she had put it in just days ago for simplicity, and her toes popped as she stretched them. Her skin was mostly flawless but if one looked closely, the tiny scars where she had been bound and tortured (as she saw it) in multiple places could be seen; most prominent were the angry-looking scars that ran deep upon her back, from her shoulder blades all the way down to just above her firm, round buttocks. Her slender, athletic form looked strong despite all that she had been through, and it wasn’t a toning that stemmed only from her Imythessian activities. But perhaps what made her truly beautiful was the way moonlight seemed to dance upon her body, illuminating her in a manner that wasn’t exactly a glow the way the mushrooms glowed…but it was close.

She could feel the unseen runes carved into the stones just below the ground. They were warm and fuzzy, the way one might feel after drinking copious amounts of certain kinds of alcohol. But she could also see the magic inherent in them, for that was a special trait of her fae eyes. The greenish-blue glow, what some would call teal, was dense and potent; it was made more so this night because of the moonlight shining down upon it. Impatiently, she looked up at that moon now as Shirine spoke. She had yet to turn around. Oddly enough, it did not concern her as to whether Shirine saw her naked. She had not hesitated to remove her clothing. If the time came to fight, she would fight with everything she had. If the time came to hunt and Shirine wished to hunt for her, then so be it. And if the time came to mate…

Well, that wasn’t really something she wanted to fight, to be honest.

The moon was almost completely over the clearing now. She lowered her eyes to the strikingly beautiful weretigress before her. While she wasn’t necessarily comfortable mating with an animal, Shirine wasn’t fully an animal; not only that, but Volare would be much the same after tonight. So was it really so strange? The more she thought about it, the more she came to realize that it wasn’t something that would really bother her once she was changed. It was strange to think of it as natural but the truth of the matter was that she would soon be just as animalistic, and if the urge to mate did come, she almost certainly wouldn’t fight it. Her feelings for Shirine had grown such that the act would be natural for her, normal…even welcomed.

But she said nothing. She simply waited. Waiting was the hard part.

Shirine heard no answer and got a feeling she understood somehow. What would come would come. She turned seeing Volare in her entirety. She couldn't look away at that point. The woman in front of her was truly beautiful. She blushed a little, but simply waited as the moon rose fully illuminating the clearing. The strange mushrooms glowed brightly and then Shirine let the energy of the moon flow through her. She let go of a control she had held for as long as she could remember. Her bite held the power now and she felt her wild side almost excited about all of this.

She kept control and then bit Volare on the left arm. It wasn't terribly deep, but still a bite. She was sure the pain would burn, but soon that would be over taken by the transformation. ll she could now was watch as the transformation took place fore the first time. A low rumble emitted from her throat. Simillar to a purr it meant more than just happiness to felines. It met that some was there and willing to help or needed help. It was all she could do to try and help her friend through the change.

The wound would be healed and forgotten, soon and Shirine just prepared herself for what would come after. She hopped she could handle it.

There was a surge of electricity as Shirine touched her, one probably to do more with the cold than anything else; that’s what she told herself, anyway. Shirine’s features showed the same understanding that they did; it was mutual. Now the time had come. She drew in a deep breath and let it out slowly, steadying herself as best she could. She closed her eyes for a moment, and Shirine’s razor-sharp feline teeth sank into her flesh. Her jaw quivered and she winced but only momentarily. The pain stung and she felt warm blood began to well up at the broader part of her left forearm, just where the bite mark was. Shirine held her hand at first but Volare got the distinct impression that, fairly soon, this would not be possible.

At first, nothing happened. Volare opened her eyes, gazing first into Shirine’s own and then up at the moon. She didn’t know how long she looked up there. It was so beautiful. It was enchanting. It was as though, while looking up at it, time seemed to stop. That was ridiculous, of course, but…she lowered her eyes and blinked rapidly. She suddenly felt as though a long time had passed, and yet it couldn’t have. The mushrooms, she noted, were glowing just as brightly as before; some of them held a yellow glow, while others held blue; still others held green or white. The colourful patterns slowly began to overwhelm her, as though the light was somehow making her dizzy. But she didn’t feel dizzy. It was difficult to explain.

The warmth she had felt from her blood was all over her body now, and she looked down at her arm. The wound was completely gone. She narrowed her eyes at that. Was it supposed to happen that quickly? Her muscles felt stiff now. That was from the cold, she knew. But the warmth of the blood…her knees felt strange. She looked down at them as they slowly shifted. She adjusted her feet. The change wasn’t necessarily painful just yet…merely uncomfortable.

Then the world around her began to spin. She stiffened considerably, and then it was as though she had been thrown to the ground. She was upon all fours now. Her heart was thudding in her chest; she could hear as much as feel the rush of blood throughout her body. There was a ringing in her ears and her eyes were watering. Was this how it was supposed to begin? She drew in a sharp breath as she felt something inside her change. She couldn’t be sure what. But it started in her abdomen and her whole body was shuddering in no time at all.

Whatever was happening, one thing was for certain: the change had begun…

Shirine could only watch as the changes slowly started. The power waz flowing into her under the moonlight. Her eyes were watering and clearly changing shape into a more feline form. The eyes were almost always first. Or at least it had been for her. Perhaps because they were windows into the soul and body. Who knew really. Volare had only started though. Bones and organs could shift. The bones would probably be the worst. Breaking and reforming constantly changing shape a little each time until they were in their new form. After the first time they just sort of composed or stretched... but he first time...

She tired to continued to purr as the changes continued to bring what little comfort she could give until the changes were done. The growing of a rail and change in sensory organs would probably be disorienting as well. Fur was almost always the last thing to grow. The least painful part too.

Her breathing came only with difficulty. She felt her knees pop out of their sockets, made more painful by being pressed into the ground. However soft the soil was, she felt everything intensely. She winced again and almost seemed to growl - not an animalistic growl, mind, but one drawn of strong discomfort that was growing swiftly into pain. Something in her legs broke, and she grunted. Her hands clenched and unclenched, and it was only by trying desperately to control her breathing that she was able to ride through the initial pain. There was a sudden relief, as if cool water had run through her with a healing effect, but it was almost completely numbed by the sharp pains that suddenly shot through her body. She let out a breath she didn’t know she’d been holding. Everything before her seemed closer now, as though her eyes were mere millimeters from the tiniest and weakest of plants growing from the soil. She could see every grain, and yet they all blurred together. She blinked rapidly but it didn’t help. Her head felt like it was floating.

Then another wave of pain rippled throughout her shuddering body…and then another…and another…until all she knew was pain.

She was thrust back into that tiny room, the darkness and the sting of her wounds her only company. She remembered all too well the harsh, frigid iron and the searing pain she had felt from the shackles that had bound her. She recalled none too fondly the rope about her neck, being dragged around like some kind of foul mixture of luggage and a pet. She had choked often, only to be beaten upon regaining consciousness from her black-outs. She had been beaten so severely at times that she had been left for dead more than once, a fetid corpse that wasn’t quite dead yet presumably rotting in the corner. And she would heal…but only a little. Only enough to keep her alive…

And now she was back under the moon once more, and something was definitely different. Something had fundamentally changed about her. She didn’t know what it was, exactly. But her vision seemed to have cleared, although it looked as though she was viewing everything through a sphere of glass. Everything was too close…she was suddenly and violently reminded of the woods and fields back home, and it took her several moments to realize it was because she was smelling everything. She was unprepared when a wave of breaking bones swept through her body, and she cried out - a cry that was not entirely humanoid. She was on her side now. Her body snapped like a rubber band, and then it snapped again. She felt only the briefest relief as her bones began to heal, for then something else was happening. She felt all of her muscles contracting, but not at once; it came in a wave, and then the tension released only for it to swiftly build again. She was deafened by something nearby - at least, something that she thought was nearby - but she couldn’t immediately identify it. Her muscles were really tight all at once now, and she could hardly move. How long this went on, she wasn’t sure.

When they finally released, her breath came with even greater difficulty than before. She gasped and wheezed, coughing as her body slowly adjusted. There was pain all over now, as though something was being inserted. Was new muscle growing or something? Perhaps it was. She groaned and tried to get to her hands and knees, yet she was quickly overtaken by a wave of…well, not exactly nausea, but something similar. Her dizziness was unparalleled now. She felt so light-headed…she shook her head, and suddenly all of her senses were clear. She was picking up on everything, and her head kept jerking this way and that before she could stop it. She was reacting without thinking, instinctively trying to determine what was making a sound here or why she was smelling something over there. Whatever night vision she had possessed before seemed to have been drastically heightened. Everything was sharper now, almost blinding at first under the light of the mushrooms and the moon.

And then she felt something she hadn’t felt since before the humans had come to Gwyllion. It wasn’t something she could easily explain. Her people had always had a deep connection to one of two heavenly bodies: the moon or the sun. In her case, it was the moon. She felt a wave of relief sweep over her that almost completely dulled the pain and seemed to still her pounding heart. Her breathing mostly evened out, and she felt…calm, almost. Yet something else was there as well…some kind of sensation of raw power, a feeling of being almost god-like, as though she could have destroyed an army with but a glance. She could feel the tingling, cooling sensations of the moon’s innate power rippling through her the way a skipping stone caused ripples upon the surface of a lake, yet this was so much deeper…so much stronger…so much more potent.

The pain returned to her now, yet it was…not exactly distant, really. Just…manageable. She drew in a deep, shuddering breath and closed her eyes…and then she felt it. Something primal…something instinctive…and the memories flashed through her mind all at once, causing her to growl in such a manner that she was almost snarling. Her eyes snapped open, and rage flooded her, mixing with the innate power of the moon that had already begun to fill her damaged body. Her back wounds had broken open, and the dead flesh had fallen away. All of her other wounds and scars were simply gone, yet evidence of her deepest wounds - those that had developed where her wings had been torn from her body - remained even as the majority of the damage itself healed. Whatever glow she seemed to have had before was twice as brilliant now, a silvery light that was coming from somewhere deep inside her to shine brightly through her flesh. But for all the power that she felt strengthening her, sharpening her senses, heightening her awareness…

…the greatest thing she felt at the moment was pure, undiluted hatred and uncontrollable fury.

Shirine watched on as the changes continued. The pain was terrible she could tell and the power kept building higher and higher. The body was changing an cracking in ways that she knew was excruciating. The form of a were was slowly taking shape. A true full moon awakening. Whatever half memories she had of such events didn't compare to the real thing. She knew she had understated the true experience, but then wasn't sure if one could truly describe such a thing.

Then things turned up a notch as she noticed the glow that was getting brighter and brighter... perhaps this fey circle was channeling too much energy. She noticed healing was happening too. A surprisingly effective regeneration in many ways. It was clear that Volare was feeling her new bestial instincts now too Then the hatred was surfacing. The sense of it was really a combination of movements, scents and base instinct, but it was clear as day to Shirine. She knew about the hatred Volare kept in her, but now she could feel it. It also had the hint of primal urges to it.

Shirine was becoming certain that Volare would try and hunt viciously at this rate. It would be intense to say the least. She tried to call out to her, "Hold on there and try and focus. Don't let the beast control you too much. This is your body no matter what. It is alright I am here for you ... please!" She got closer and out of instinct started drawing on moon light energy herself. It would at least slow down the rush of energy, but it also ran the risk of pushing own control. She had much better control, but she had never tested her limit. She soon felt herself drawing on the energy, but did not stop hopping it might have a slight calming effect on Volare. She honestly didn't know.

In many ways it probably let them feel or sense each other more clearly. Not in any concrete way, but the way beast might understand each other. Shirine could vaguely sense Volare's pain and tears formed on her face.

In truth it was an uncertain thing the energies flowing around them could probably do many things. It could possibly even form a true magical connection between the two (even if it was probably temporary). It might even link them directly, if so Shirine might help ease Volare through things or Shirine could also easily be lost to instinct along with Volare if it went on too long. If no magical connection formed then Shirine could only continue to watch and wait for the first thing Volare did after the transformation finished.

The pain had turned to something else now, something not the same but not entirely different. It was slowly but surely becoming more an itch she desperately had to scratch than outright agony. She wasn’t entirely certain that this was any better; if anything, it was almost worse. Yet whatever energy Shirine could raw, it was nothing to the amount of power building inside Volare - and that power was definitely changing her. The moon light and the mushrooms had given her usually pale form an unearthly, silvery-bluish glow; but now, that glow was slowly turning to more of a silverish-gray hue. Her head itched from the thrashing she’d been doing having loosened her “do”, and she tore at it now with nails that were swiftly lengthening and sharpening. When her hair fell loose, the crimson locks spread over her like a mane as she got to her hands and feet. She growled again as she felt the uncomfortable and altogether painful changes rippling through her face.

Her head jerked to the side as the colour of her flesh started to spread to a fine hair that now grew all over her body; there was no set location from which it spread, patches seemingly sprouting up from everywhere at once to merge into a thin carpet. Her eyes seemed to glow through the veil-like strands of her hair, staring up at Shirine as she spoke. It took her several long seconds to recall her name, and she held onto that with everything she had. Her teeth were growing, lengthening, sharpening much like the nails upon her fingers and toes. She clenched her teeth and wasn’t sure if that made the sensation better or worse, either. The pain was coming in heavily dulled waves now, rushing and receding like the tide as the moonlight healed her. She was still taking in a lot of power, but her body was adapting to it almost seamlessly.

And then, as if some unseen barrier had fallen, there was…something unexplainable. She felt…panicked, almost. But it was panic born of great concern…for…her? She could see herself reflected in Shirine’s eyes, and she could hear her words not only in her ears but inside her mind. It was as though they were sharing something that Volare couldn’t quite pick up on, something that she was still trying to bring into focus. Her head lowered once more, her neck almost painfully exhausted. She closed her eyes for a moment and saw herself again, saw herself in her mind’s eye as she knelt upon the ground, her clawed hands and her knees barely supporting a form that was hers, and yet…not quite hers. It was lithe and strong, much more so than she was used to. She was alien to herself, and yet…and yet, she was as intimate as could be. Oh, yes, there was definitely a bond. Whether it was magical or something else remained to be seen, but it was definitely there, and the enormous amount of power she was absorbing could be felt as it took a permanent hold over her.

Spots began to spread across her body, strands of short and bristly hair that were much darker than the silverish-gray of the rest of her body. The majority of her hair had stopped growing now. She rocked back and forth, not sure what else to do. She felt trapped, and she did not like feeling that way - not at all. She felt weak, and yet all she wanted to do was to lash out - but she couldn’t…not against Shirine…

Shirine saw the physical transformation was finished... or almost finished at least. She felt very close to Volare at that moment and ended up hugging her close. The sensation of fur brushing against her cause her to rub her cheek against Volare's in the way cat's do. It was both a sign of affection and marking a person as their friend... a trusted person.... or more. She felt the tears staining Volare's new fur a bit as she cried at Volare's pain, "It is alright it is almost over."

It was true Volare looked weak and clearly the changes were almost over, but the end was going to be something else. Not physical, just a rush of energy and instinct. Now it was time to see how well they could ride this out. It was here that Volare was most likely to lose her self at least to some extent to the new beast inside of her. The raw will of a wild beast under the moon.

When the burst came Shirine felt pulled along in the moment letting out a throaty roar of a large cat. Volare was probably doing the same. Shirine braced her self as the raw flow of power and emotions came on. Volare probably would lose all fatigue as this burst would replenish her and push her beyond. Full of energy that had to burned right then. Probably enough to last the entire night.

How long it lasted, she did not know. It felt like an eternity. It felt as though all that she was had simply drained out. Eventually, however, she felt…something…it was a mere trickle, like someone dripping water into the mouth of one who had just escaped from the desert. She became stable, first. Her rocking had stopped. There was a tingling, as though her entire body had gone numb and was only just beginning to feel again. Slowly but surely, her muscles grew stronger. The ground became firmer upon her. She opened her eyes. The night seemed so bright to her now, and she winced. Her eyes adjusted at length, and she focused on just one of the sounds she was hearing until it was almost maddening. She looked at the mushrooms that formed the fairy ring, and her vision seemed to blur from the mixture of light and sound…and then, suddenly, everything was sharp and clear and in complete focus. Something was happening. She saw the mushrooms dimming before her, yet she inherently knew that it had nothing to do with a lack of moonlight. She found herself glancing up as she felt a rush of power and energy so overwhelming that she was almost standing upon her knees before she knew it.

She hadn’t expected it. She collapsed to her hands and knees again. Then she started to move. She felt sensations that no humanoid ever could from the physical contact with Shirine. The moon was already starting to move beyond the clearing now, yet there was so much power…whatever had been done to her had been amplified dramatically by the fairy ring. While it was probably true that weres all developed differently, fae were so completely different to begin with that there was only the barest similarity between what Shirine had probably gone through and what Volare was going through now. She rose slowly, independently, as though it was nothing. The sights, the sounds, the smells…she stretched and felt the power of muscles, the crisp freshness of the still night air…her jaw ached, and she worked it. That would probably go away.

There was something nearby…a body this powerful needed sustenance. She started to move without thinking about it, taking only a couple of steps before she stopped herself. It wasn’t her conscious, sentient mind stopping her, however. The boar had stopped. It wasn’t fair to say that she wouldn’t have been able to see it without having been transformed. Her fae eyes didn’t just see clearly through weather effects. Fae could naturally see twice as far as elves and had the same dark-vision that was attributed to such races as dwarves and gnomes. Fae could even see traces of magic. But she saw so much more detail now, and things were so much brighter. Her instinctive, animalistic mind couldn’t process the questions that would have come to her had she been in a more sentient state of mind, however - like how her eyes would handle the differences once daylight came, for example.

It was sniffing around for something. It found nothing, and it moved on. She took a couple more steps. It was so far away…and yet, to Volare, it was almost right in front of her. She had every bit of confidence that she could cover two or three hundred yards in minutes, maybe seconds. She could be on that boar before it would even know she was there. It smelled like many things, pungent and foul, and yet…it reminded her of…

That was a disgusting thought - so disgusting, in fact, that the mere idea of eating a pig roasted over an open fire brought her back to her senses. It was only momentary, the revulsion nearly reverting her to her humanity. But the instincts…she couldn’t ignore them. She crouched without thinking. The boar was in her territory. This was her hunting ground…she couldn't just let it think it could wander anywhere it wanted. Even if she didn’t eat it, she had to let it know that she was in charge of this area, not the boar. It was a matter of feline pride. She growled, long and low. The boar was too far away to have heard it; it didn’t react. But it wouldn’t be long now before she rushed forward and ripped that fat little pig to shreds…

Shirine waited through the changes and soon the light was dimming and the physical changes complete. She heard Volare growl low and new she had caught a scent. Her own mind was muddied in the rush of the moonlight. Her instincts called for a hunt. She had been holding back, but she found her self searching for the scent as soon as she had heard that low growl. She found the scent of boar surprisingly quick. A dangerous, but rewarding prey her bestial side said. She wanted to hold back more, but she knew that Volare needed the hunt and ... well so did she.

Not even knowing why she fell behind Volare letting out a similar low growl acknowledging Volare as a hunting partner.... or something close to that. Maybe closer to a non-competition agreement between hunting cats. She let Volare head out first and followed after.

First would be the approach then the stalking of the prey and then the pounce. Shirine planed to be back up. The one to stop the prey from escaping if the first strike failed. A part of her hopped that would happen, so she could make the kill instead of Volare. She knew Volare wouldn't want to have killed like this... still at the same time as Volare was currently it would only lead to a fight if she tried to take the prey first.

The entire time she was trying to control her own beast. It was wilder than it had ever been. Something about that place and the moonlight combined had pushed her control farther than it had ever been pushed. She was at the edge.

She heard the growl and understood the message at once. She waited, but not for very long…and then she was gone, darting through the woods with a speed and grace that she could not have matched except in the air. She recalled her wings and the loss of them, recalled her imprisonment and the things done to her, recalled her escape and arrival in Imythess, and recalled her need for greater power in order to exact her revenge. These things spurred her on, her inherent rage adding to the primal anger at having her territory violated so brazenly, and she seemed to become even faster. The trees were moving by her so fast that they were a blur now, and yet she made not a sound. She was in the vicinity of the boar in under a minute, something no ordinary individual could have accomplished.

She stopped and watched the boar from her hidden position. It was munching on mushrooms but undoubtedly seeking tastier prey. It caught something upon the wind, sniffed, and turned away from the scent; whatever it was, the boar didn’t like it. She moved slowly, silently, stalking the great beast. It was a dire boar, a large animal that could have knocked over a wagon and slaughtered the occupants had it been protecting its young or some such. But no, there were no young…not for this one. The scent was not upon it, and it was of the wrong sex beside. It was only a short distance away that the boar stopped again, once more foraging for food.

The growl slipped out, a low snarl that finally caught the boar’s attention in full. Terror filled its clever-yet-unintelligent eyes as it gazed around it, poised to flee. It didn’t get the chance. Even by the standards of an experienced hunting cat, Volare was unbelievably fast. The boar tensed its muscles in full just as Volare struck, but it had barely lifted its right hind hoof off of the ground when she slammed into it. Her claws sank deep into its flesh, drawing out a cry that likely echoed for miles around; that cry was cut short as all the air was forced out of the pitiful creature’s lungs, caught as it was between Volare’s immense strength and the trunk of the tree into which she had slammed it. She whirled about, tossing the boar away from her in a different direction. It rose slowly, yet frantically, but it wasn’t anywhere near fast enough. By the time it was upon its feet once more, Volare stood half-crouched before it. She growled, and the boar emitted its own cry of fear; it was a weakened cry, yet a cry nonetheless. The boar charged her, bleating as swine do the whole way.

Volare grabbed the boar’s long, curved tusks and stuck her face right into the boar’s. She unleashed a roar that probably would have caused a lesser creature to faint immediately. Instead, the boar just struggled wildly, yet it couldn’t loosen Volare’s grip upon its tusks or make her turn or move. She finally snarled again and tossed it to the side, causing it to roll along the ground. She leapt forward as it struggled once more to get to its feet, slashing at it viciously, making it cry out in pain and terror again. It tried to run but Volare was too quick; she circled it from behind and came at it from the other side with an upward slash and a snarl. It went flying again, and Volare continued to circle the doomed creature. She was, quite literally, a cat playing with its food in that moment. She knew Shirine was nearby, just on the other side of the boar, but she didn’t care. This was her territory now. This was her kill.

She rushed the boar, knowing full well that it would run headlong into Shirine - and then leapt the boar with only as much effort as it took for her to breathe. She whirled in midair, her agility and flexibility proving itself impressive just as it had done in battles before this. She landed deftly, facing the boar, who recognized its error at the last possible moment. It had no time to flee. Another upward slash should have sent the boar flying, its lower jaw and throat ripped wide open from chest to tusk, but her claws caught on the boar’s jaw bone. She flung it aside as a child might fling aside an old rag doll with which she had become bored. The boar landed in a heap and began to flail its legs, yet it couldn’t get to its feet. Volare half-crouched again and growled until the boar moved no more.

She started to move in on it, but she was stopped again by her more intelligent instincts. She would look upon this later with horror, realizing what she had done and wishing that it had been a human rather than a boar. She was no predator! She was no murderous carnivore, bent on sharpening her teeth against the bones of her prey! And yet, for the time being, she only seemed conflicted. She was repulsed again by the thought of eating this creature, which went against everything she believed in - for herself, at least. She understood the need to hunt in others, but her…no…she could not do this…

Shirine followed watching Volare hunt for the first time. She imagined that Colare woild be revolted at what she did. Still she was too far gone to stop. A first tranformation could never control it or at least not for long. The fight was intense, but Shirine could not see an oportunity to be the one to finish it off. The boar charfed towards her and Volar felled it. Shirine felt desires and urges too. They were strong and almost over flowing, but hse held on.

She saw the hesitstion on Volare's face and went over carving a some of the bore up with her sharp claws. She took the skin off expertly. She then took the strips of meat to Volare, "Do not let the boar have died in vain. Make him part of your strength tonight. Do it the honorable way before the beasr in you forces you to just ravage the corpse like a true animal. I will hell you morn it tomorrow, but tonight do what you have to or go insane for the rest of the night doing even worse things."

The hungger had to be sated or the beast would go made seeking greater and greater prey. Shirine did not even realize that there were tears in her eyes from knowing what she was doing to Volare. To make matters worse she felt hed own best wanting to feast on the kill. It qas only beong held back by the fact it was Colare-s kill. Shirine sould aslo eat tonight, but only after Colare.

Her eyes flicked to Shirine as the weretigress moved to take the meat from Volare’s kill. Her animal instincts wanted to tear the woman apart, to make it known that she had no right to be doing what she was doing. It was a strong surge of instinct, one that almost overtook her. But Shirine was her friend…she was her confidant…she was the woman that....well, Volare had strong feelings for her. In the end, she only barely managed to keep herself from doing what she would later be told was the wereleopard inside her so desperately wanted her to do. And when Shirine spoke, it only marginally eased that tension. But it was so much worse…so much worse than a sudden territorial bloodlust.

Every fibre of Volare’s body wanted to do exactly what Shirine was talking about. Yet her mind was screaming, pounding against the walls of her skull, desperate to get away from the stench of fresh meat and pooling blood. She could not eat an animal! It was not in her nature - not even slightly! And yet, the animalistic part of her was so hungry…so eager to prove its dominance…had it not been for everything that she’d been through with Shirine already, Volare was absolutely certain that she would have torn Shirine apart (or at least put up a solid effort) and then devoured the boar with great gusto. Would she have lost herself completely after that? Would she have become fully the animal that she now seemed to be? No…not according to what Shirine had told her. It would only be for the night…

But right now, rational thought was out the window. She was indeed too far gone to simply stop. She yanked the meat from Shirine’s claws, unable to hold back any longer, and tore it apart with her teeth. She savoured the taste and reveled in the succulent flavour of the pork. She ravaged what was given to her and roared again in triumph. She gazed upon Shirine now with new-found appreciation, and there could have been no doubt in the weretigress’ mind what Volare’s animal instincts were telling her to do next. Part of them wanted the boar, yet she had shown the boar her dominance. Part of her Shirine.

She was practically shrieking and crying inside, not necessarily from what she had done but from the loss of control, the loss of power. She was not just a slave to another, now; she was a slave to her own body, and that was so much worse that it was almost as though she was losing her wings all over again. All of the emotion welled up in her and it became easier to just give in to the animal instincts that were now so muddled with the mixture of her sentient self. She grabbed Shirine and thrust herself forward, carrying them both to the ground. She was on top of Shirine now, gazing into her eyes with as much fury and confusion and pain as unbridled passion…

Shirine saw the shift and smelled it too, but was still taken by surprise. She was pounced by Volare and she saw the desire. Shirine felt it too and knew this was for the best. She was sure they could ride out the rest of the night like this. The surprise over she fliped their positions with a roll. She was stronger and more experinced she would demand the dominate spot. It might be a pationate fight. She then let her instinct have full control.

The night went on and soon it was morning. Shirine woke next to Volare. Her arms wraped around her. The sun felt warm. Shirine felt the moon madnes had passed and now jist to reach Volare how to control the beast so that last night would never happen again. She was quite tired still and though of last night and only blushed as Volare awoke. "Good morning!" She wondered how Volare would react and got ready to be suportive if needed.
