| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Shirine purchased the outfit immediately, and well that she did. What she came out wearing was perfect, and yet it had the same silken sheen to it that Volare's own outfit sometimes had. But the Elf's thoughts betrayed her. The garment shifted like water, flowing freely in an almost illusory manner; the colour changed much in the same manner that the sky did as the sun slowly set, and the final form of her garb was enough to make Volare blink and blush. There was something truly alluring about Shirine, something that was making her act like a child; perhaps it was her closed nature now, how she felt like she had to hide from Tarasians. She had spent most of her time in the city trying to pretend that she didn't exist for the sole purpose of being invisible, although she'd never been able to disappear entirely. Yes, that must have been it. At any rate, her reaction was apparently noticed by Shirine. Shirine squeaked and tried in vain to cover herself. At first, though, Volare didn't know what to say in response to Shirine's query. Controlling her own wardrobe outfit had not been difficult for her but in the Fae maid's defense, she had been focusing all of her thoughts on not being visible to others. To that end, her singular focus had made controlling the garment almost second nature to her. She shrugged. ”It's never been much of a problem for me,” she said at first. Then, ”Perhaps if you think of it as something natural, it will become so.” It probably wasn't very good advice but, unfortunately, it was the best she had at the moment. Then again, perhaps that was all that was needed: if thinking of controlling the wardrobe outfit was simply something natural, then perhaps it would become such with time. ”Or you can focus all your thoughts on it,” she said as well. ”That might be a bit distracting, though.” Edited by Volare, Sat Jul 25, 2015 7:42 am.

Shirine nodded as she tried to think of it as natural and some how it changed into nothing, but a set of leaves covering her most private areas. She managed to shift it back to the underwear relatively quickly. She then tried the second one focusing her thoughts and while it took a few embarrassing moments it eventually shifted slowly. Given her state of mind it didn't come out perfectly. She had tried to think about her previous outfit, but then thoughts Martial Arts training and the odd clothes monks sometimes wore came to mind (Karate Gi). On the other had other things were going through her mind and the clothes around her had effected her thoughts more than she thought as her mind still had ideas about how pretty some were and that she wanted to look nice for Volare. Still the end result was at least acceptable. It was white outfit with pretty pink flowers and twisting green vines sewn into it. It wasn't a heavy pattern, but seemed to be well designed. It was shaped like a Karate Gi, but the colors almost made it look more like a Kimono. Shirine felt some tight wraps keeping her chest in place. Moving a bit confirmed it felt good. The front was quite open showing a decent, but not ridiculous amount of cleavage. She had picked up how to stop effecting the outfit and decided to keep it with something that work. She sighed a little, "Well not perfect... I would have preferred something less flashy, but I guess it will work. I will learn to control this thing with time too I guess. I don't want to try again right now anyways. So let us go find that instructor. Maybe we can actually get that done today without me distracting us more." She laughed a little at how much she had detoured them. She started to walk to the front. She clearly was still a little embarrassed, but oddly she walked passed Volare and seeing the tail twitching in an excited way and slight smile it was clear that she actually was sort of enjoying it too. She clearly was trying to hide her enjoyment though. When they got to the door she offered her arm to Volare again, but let Volare chose how close she wanted to be this time. What came next was something so indecent that even the clerk at the front of the shop, who’d been dutifully trying to avoid looking at Shirine, couldn’t help but stare. Neither could Volare. Her soft, yet muscular legs; the taut skin wrapping itself about her semi-feline form; her perfect… She looked away hurriedly, clearing her throat, and her eyes lit upon the face of the clerk. She focused her attention on him until his eyes shifted; then he hurriedly turned around. She watched the back of his head for a moment before braving a glance at Shirine. She was inwardly relieved now. While Shirine was…well, gorgeous…she certainly didn’t want to be accused of indecency. She was thankful that Shirine had now found something that would work for her. Volare’s eyes did settle upon the exposed cleavage for a lingering moment; however, they had soon snapped up to meet Shirine’s own. She nodded curtly. It was time to go. Turning on her heel, she went to the door with Shirine. As they left the shop, they were perhaps a little closer than either of them had meant to be. Truthfully, Volare didn’t mind; part of her didn’t care at all. Another part of her was looking forward to the martial training she was soon going to receive. Yet another part of her wondered what Shirine would look like without a stitch upon her, and she purposefully didn’t look directly at Shirine in case she was blushing. At this point, she couldn’t tell whether she was or not. ”So,” she inquired in a serious tone. ”Lead the way, Shirine.” |

Shirine led the way down the streets until they arrived at a slightly larger than the average house. The entire time she couldn't help being a little distracted by how close Volare was and ended up sneaking several glances. She felt it was cute how Volare was avoiding looking at her. Still she didn't let go when they arrived just knocking with her free hand. Soon the door was opened by a female elf. She must be fairly old as there were even a few physical signs of age on her. She smiled kindly, "Ah you two must be Volare and Shirine correct. My name is Valenira, Illiriel sent a message that you would be stopping by. I can see both of you could use some help in different areas. Your auras are quite telling. Anyways, please come in and sit down I can guide you through some meditation to start with. " Inside the house was a lot of open space covered in soft moss a sky light filled the room with light. It seemed there were a few doors near the back of the room, but all closed. Valenira sat down cross legged. She motioned for each to sit with her. She gave an opportunity for each to speak before starting anything. Shirine couldn't think of much to say anything to say so she stayed quietly respectful to someone who was clearly an ancient elder. The fighter in her could feel an enormous pressure that only masters of fighting could give off, but it was so well hidden it was barely noticeable. OOC: Valenira is free to be controlled. In Gwyllion, there had rarely been this kind of tension between Volare and another. It had mostly been when she was truly young, before she had settled comfortably into her adulthood. She had always been a free spirit, and this kind of tension had never been something that she particularly enjoyed, but now - with all that had happened to her - she found her thoughts whirling about in her head and was more uncomfortable than ever. She needed something hard to focus on in order to clear her mind, something that she could do, a goal…and then they had reached the house. She zoned out a bit as they were led inside and invited to sit down. Honestly, the tension had nothing to do with Shirine at all. Everyone was so private and controlled in Imythess. It was like everyone was militaristic. The elves seemed freer in mind and spirit than most people, and even they were disciplined in their social structures. It was as though nobody had the courage to say what was on their mind, even though everyone clearly had an opinion about everything. Of course, nobody was truly disrespectful back home, but they were at least open about themselves almost to the point of being too open. Here, everyone’s lips were sealed and their minds were books that would never be opened. It was frightening, really, and more than a little mind-numbing. A little of it had rubbed off on Volare, if only because she had been trying to blend in so that she wouldn’t be noticed by anyone - for either good or ill intentions. She was thus glad that their brief journey together was over and she would soon be focused on learning the ways of combat. She had known how to throw her weight into a descending kick or knock people aside with her wings when she’d had them but that was about it; she was no fighter, no more than a tree was able to cut itself down. It simply wasn’t in her nature. But she was learning. The loss of her wings was forcing her to learn, and she was certainly learning the hard way. Yes, now that she thought about it again, she would most certainly take a job on her own once she was back at the guild’s headquarters building. But for now, she focused on what the woman before her was saying. She tried to close her mind to the outside world, to calm herself, but there were too many things vying for her attention. She sat as Valenira sat, remained quiet just as Valenira did, and placed her hands in the same position in which Valenira had placed her own. But try as she might, she couldn’t focus. She opened her eyes, wondering at the point of this. She had pondered the world around and the people and creatures within it in the past but she had never done this. She slipped a sidelong glance toward Shirine but wasn’t noticed by either of the two elven women. She closed her eyes and tried again. How long she sat there, she did not know. Finally, Valenira said quietly and gently that she needed to stop fidgeting. Meditation was meant to relax one’s body and calm one’s mind. She tried again but she was getting tense. Was something supposed to happen? Because nothing was happening, and the tension was lasting far too long for her tastes. Finally, she couldn’t help it. She opened her eyes and spoke bluntly, not meaning to be rude but not at all in the mood for games. ”Is there a point to this?” she asked the elven hostess. The events that had led her to Imythess, her hiding and the event that had led to her having met Shirine, the quest beneath the ground, the tension between her and Shirine despite being attracted to the elven tigress, and now this…it all culminated in a rather poor opinion of her life overall, and she was desperately struggling on the inside to maintain her semi-calm demeanor. If she went over one cliff, she would probably isolate herself completely and end up going over the other cliff as well; and if she went over the other cliff, she would probably take down everyone around her. Both were dark roads she didn’t want to travel down but the way her mind kept leaping from one thing to another and the way the tension kept building slowly over time, she was getting close to cracking. And when she finally did crack, nobody would be happy. |

Valenira nodded, "Oh yes claming yourself has three effects. One Iit improves concentration of the mind and body. Second it lets the spirit roam free and reveal it's true nature. Third it is good for recovering patients to relax for a bit before doing exercise. I have actualky learned quite a bit in this short time. Shirine is overly concerned at her own faultsn that is something only she can over come, and you are recovering from a great wound. Your ki paths or flow of magic has been terribly damaged, but is trying to recover. Here sit still and meditate a bit longer I will be use some presure points to hopefully open up your k ipaths again. They will not be healed, but Iit may help you. Plus if I follow your flows I may be able to give you some additional addvise that may help you recover a little bit faster." She got up slowly stoppong if Volare objected. Valenira then carefully stimulated things with small flows of ki through pressure points at various points along Volare's body. If allowed to finish Valenira would get a deep sense of Volare's ki or magic. With his she would recomend Volare vist a druid glade tomorrow afternoon to the north west of the village that was maybe a half hour away. It had a small pond there and many animals and birds visted there. It would be a good place for one to reconect with nature. (OOC:Thought this might be a good place for her to discover her animal charmer talent. Also feel free to write out the coversarion described above) Regardless after the meditation they were put through some basic exercises, which left them feeling a sore, but good. sShe then asked them to come back each morning to noon for further training and practice. She also said they could join her in the evenings for further meditation practice. |

Volare looked as though she was about to say something but stopped herself. She sighed, inwardly cursing having come here. She had thought the idea of martial training would translate into combat techniques that she could put toward her training when she was back at the headquarters building, but all she was supposed to do was sit and be quiet? That was what it amounted to in her opinion, at least. The last comment had clearly been aimed at her, but it probably wouldn’t do to show any further disrespect toward this woman. She was not being unkind, after all; merely subtly blunt, if it could be called such a thing. She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts once more, and resumed her attempt. Well, if nothing else, she could at least fake it…sort of. She said nothing and did not rebel when Valenira started pushing gently but firmly on certain parts of her body. Most of the finger-presses were along her spine, around her shoulders and lower back, and around her neck. She made a couple of small sounds that resembled moans but were too brief to be called such while Valenira was working. She had no problem at all with the contact; relationships in Gwyllion had been both very physical and very emotional, regardless of their individual natures. Even friendships had been intimate in a way no human could ever understand. Elves might come close to understanding but the deep connection that Fae shared among one another was something even elves could rarely appreciate fully. So the massaging of her pressure points was no more uncomfortable than sitting nude and care-free in the boughs of a great elm or oak, and actually, the pressure felt a little good. When she was done, Valenira sat back down before Volare. ”I was not expecting such deep wounds,” Valenira told Volare, prompting Volare’s eyes to snap open. ”They are not physical wounds that I speak of. They run far deeper than even I can measure.” There was great concern in Valenira’s lovely, soft gray eyes. She looked at Volare searchingly, as though seeking an answer to some unspoken question. What the portents of Volare’s innate ki held, the elf maid was not certain; she only knew that Volare’s path was not one of peace, and that deeply disturbed her for reasons she couldn’t quite comprehend. ”I think you should visit a druid’s glade nearby,” she said softly. ”He is old and wise, and his magic is powerful, for his connection with nature runs deep…perhaps as deep as your wounds.” Valenira wasn’t quite certain of the truth of that latter statement but she wasn’t entirely wrong, either. ”Your own innate ki, your magic…it is powerful still and unique in a way I have never seen. You are fae, yes?” Volare nodded, again curtly. The woman nodded a little in return. ”I have not dealt with your kind much, but I know that you are close to nature as well. You still have a deep well of power within you. But it has been pushed inside, squeezed until it is ready to burst. You may have had difficulty casting…your magic is drawn from within and from your connection to nature, and because your mana has been suppressed for a long time now, you have lost that connection somewhat. I am uncertain what the druid there will say but what I do know is this: you must let yourself go, Volare. You must let yourself feel nature around you once more. Only when you have realized the true significance of your potential connection with the world now surrounding you will you once more begin to grow and blossom.” What Valenira said next, she said with deadly seriousness despite the sympathy in her eyes. ”Whatever you have lost, Volare, the blood of others cannot regain.” Volare stared at the woman for a few moments, until Valenira finally glanced at Shirine to see whether there was something more she needed to say to Volare. Volare, however, was done listening. She turned and walked out of the woman’s home. Stepping out into onto the path so suddenly, she almost ran into a man walking nearby. She did not stop, however. While it would be a few moments before she arrived, she wasn’t going to stop until she had reached the place where she was staying. “The blood of others” - who did this woman think she was? Perhaps her expectations were not what they should have been but this…the only thing that had kept her going all this time was the thought of vengeance, and while she didn’t yet know exactly what to do with that vengeance, she had intended fully to learn - starting with whatever Valenira had to teach her. But to tell her that she could not even avenge herself or her people or that it would have no meaning or value if she did… Angry didn’t even begin to describe her. |

Shirine overheard the words and got up to leave with Volare. While she was not angry she did inderstand why Volare was. Shirine ujderstood the desire too well with Wethrin still out there. Thus she was fulky willing to help Volare in her own vengence. It was not pretty, but neither was merc work or anything else she had done. She was sropped breifly by Valneria. "Please appologize for me. I only meant to help. Tell her she may still study the physicall skills of mine of she wants, but I also hope she sill take my advice. If she comes in the evening I will take that as a sign she is wilking to talk again....." Shirine did not respond and simply nodded so she could leave. She would decide about delivering the message latter. Soon sheran after Volare and when she caught up she realized she was not sure what to say... she then realized what she wanted to say, "Volare... I .. I want say that I feel some of the same things as you and today... well you have become closer than anyone has since my sister... I mean that no matterawhat happens I will stand by you and be there to help. Be it vengence or whatever else that needs to be done. I.....it's painful isn't it." Shirine moved to embrace Volare and take some of that pain away. They both had painful pasts and a hug is what she had wanted in her most painful moments. She wanted to say more like building a future beuond just their venfence, but Volare was not ready for that yet. Now it jjst had to bee seen if she had done things correctly or screwwed them up. |

Had it not been for her anger, Volare almost certainly would have know Shirine was there by the time her footfalls slowed. The elven weretigress fell into step with Volare and said nothing at first. When she finally spoke, she was hesitant but honest. Volare didn’t stop walking but she did allow Shirine to hug her. She didn’t know what to say in response to Shirine’s words. She didn’t even know the names of the humans that had taken her; there had been more than just one or two…worse, she didn’t even know if they would be on this continent. She seriously doubted it. All she really wanted to do was make the race of men suffer as she had suffered, to bring them to their knees and shackle them within their own minds. She wanted them screaming in agony, begging her for mercy only to receive further punishment for having made such noises, and then she wanted them all to die horrible deaths that would leave their scarred ghosts wandering the lands for all eternity, their minds forever lost in their troubles and the guilt of what their kind had done! Oh! How her blood boiled at the very idea that she was to lay down arms and take a more peaceful route! She would have liked nothing better than to just let everything go and take the path of the ”druid”, whatever that was. A small part of her knew that the woman was right, but that part of her was vastly outmatched by the part of her that didn’t just want her wings and her connection to nature back. She wanted so much more, and she knew in her heart that it was a dark path indeed upon which the humans had set her. If she could, she would annihilate them all and relieve herself upon their corpses! She would dance upon their graves and laugh as she delighted in their misery! And yet, that small part of her knew that such a thing was so completely wrong. But there was nothing she could do about it. To deny how she felt was to deny what had unfortunately now become the greatest part of herself, for better or for worse…likely much, much worse. She would not be satisfied until every last human she saw was in chains or dead or both and their bodies violated by every foul, rotten, loathsome, evil little cockroach that deigned to disgust the high-and-mighty men. Their women’s laments would be her music and the fear of their children would sustain her as no food or drink ever could. …or at least, that’s how she felt. So she didn’t say anything during their entire journey back to the house. She knew she was probably torturing Shirine but she couldn’t help it. She just…she just wanted all the pain and rage to end, and yet it gave her focus. It gave her a goal. She was somewhat calmer by the time she’d reached her bed but the rage had settled into bitterness. When she took up her Star Blade once more, she examined it as a blacksmith would review his own work. ”I must master this weapon,” she said to Shirine. The words were quiet, almost a whisper, yet there was no denying the deadly tone in her voice. There was no reason given; none needed to be. There was no request for more training. There was simply that singular statement, a declaration of her intent to wield the weapon of the humans against them. Oh, yes…there would be blood…she would drench herself in it, metaphorically speaking; their wells would fill with it, the rivers would run red, and nothing would stand in her way. Nothing… …and no one. |

Volare delt far away at that time and she let her walk in silence just aaiting for some words. Then the words xame and Shirine inderstood. Shirine nodded at the words simply saying, "Then you will master it." She left it at that leaving Volare at her room and heading for her own. She wondered what the next day would bring. Well that was concerns for the next daym Dinner was had and then she fell alseep in a bed. She contemplated making a picknic for them to visit the druid's place tomorrow. Little did she know a job would be offered to them in the morning and of couse she would over sleep. Edited by Shirine, Wed Aug 12, 2015 11:25 pm.
