Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Jonathan hated nature for no other reason than he could. He actually pretty much hated everything. Well except other gnomes. Well his kind of Gnomes. He was a magical Garden Gnome brought to life by a stupid wizard who loved collecting Garden Gnomes. What the wizard had not known that the spell would turn all his creations evil. Jonathan did not mind that he had always hated the wizard even when he wasn't alive.

But he did not want to think on that. He wanted to focus on something else. He wanted to have some fun. And fun for him was ruining someone else's day. Usually by any means he could. Though he preferred devastating them emotionally. Jonathan was good at that. He loved insulting people. It made the day go by so much easier. Now the problem was to find someone to bother. Which was going to be hard since he was in a forest. Oh there animals aplenty but they didn't provide the same satisfaction.

He found a road that looked well-traveled and climbed up a tree out of sight. Here he would wait while some dumb unsuspecting fool came down the road toward him. Today might be a good day if the person was really vulnerable. Finally he heard someone approaching from down the road. He said in a high shrill voice," I was hoping you'd come 'round. I could use a good laugh."

AD woke to find herself curled up in a hollow of a tree in a part of the forest she didn't recognize. Her hands were dirty and flecks of blood were under her fingers. As she staggered to her bare feet she realized she was dressed in clothing she didn't recognize. Black leather pants that laced up the outside with a matching top and what she could only assume had once been a lovely white blouse. The leather had mud caked on it, twigs and leaves were caught in the lacing, and the shirt was more of a brownish gray, one sleeve missing entirely and the other missing a strip from her shoulder to her elbow. There were bloodstains on the cuff. She tore off the remaining sleeve to even herself out some and looked around herself for a landmark of some kind.

After finding nothing of note, she picked a direction and started walking. As she moved, she noticed a tightness across her chest. Peeking down the front of her tattered shirt, she saw her bag and wondered why it would be there. Taking it out, she tied it about her waist with the remains of the tattered sleeve and started off again. In the distance she spotted what had to be a road. Looking one way, and then the other, she gave a shrug and picked a direction. Roads had to lead to somewhere, right? She started to wonder how far afield she had ended up this time when a voice called out to her from somewhere in the trees. She paused, her head still a bit foggy. She looked off the road, but didn't see anyone. Was she not as recovered as she thought she was? Maybe she should go find a place to nap instead so this fog would clear. Maybe a stream for a bath? AD wavered slightly where she stood on the road, staring blankly off into the forest.

Jonathan looked down from his hiding spot to see a woman. She was young and possibly of elvish descent. The woman no the girl cause she did look young looked up in the trees and did not see him. Jonathan snickered in delight. He had hoped he was well hidden. The last time he had messed with someone he had not been and he had been broken. But being broken did not stop Jonathan for long. He would eventually repair himself and go on to torture someone else. The girl looked down the road trying to find him but did not see.

He stifled his laughter by shoving his fists in his mouth. The woman would think she was crazy or so he hoped. People who heard voices usually were .Jonathan however had to ruin that delusion. He wanted to be heard. Jonathan said,” I could help you find what you're looking for. Step one: Pull your head out your arse!” Jonathan cackled madly at that and then said," If you’re lost I can direct you to the nearest kitchen girly".

Now the girl would know someone was talking to her. The only problem for her was Jonathan figured himself well hidden. However if the girl looked she would see how the limbs of the tree shook with his laughter.

Aether Draka was able to pin down the voice after a few minutes to at least being in a particular tree, but trying to look up into the branches made her head swim a little too much, and the branches seemed to be moving on their own too. She could have searched harder, but she didn't feel like getting sick right about now. The fuzzy feeling stuffing up her head should go away soon and bits of memory should surface. Hopefully she was only hunting rabbits again... but she hoped that the problem hadn't started where she had worn this clothing to... it seemed she had dressed up for some reason and she hoped no one had gotten harmed.

She put her hands up to her head, not quite getting what the word arse was. That was when she discovered something she had failed to notice thus far. Her hair was not braided in it's normal collection of braids. It had been pulled back in some sort of half-braid and slicked with what smelled like floral oil that cut it's normal frizzyness. There was branches and leaves in it too... no doubt dirt as well. Now she really wanted to take a bath.

Plucking a few more leaves off her she flicked them away and called up hopefully, "I don't think a kitchen is going to be of any help to me. But I wouldn't mind a bath of some sort, even a river or pond would be helpful enough?" She had not yet started to wonder about who or what could possibly be talking to her. Lucky for her it wasn't one of the many thieves that had a camp hidden about in the woods, though she may change her mind about that if she got a chance to think about it.

The girl again looked up in Jonathan’s tree and she looked directly at his hiding spot. However whether she noticed or not Jonathan figured it didn't matter. He could get away quickly enough or so he supposed. Still this girl was posing a problem. She did not get mad ta his insults or try to attack him. That was odd in itself. Usually Jonathan was chased out of town by angry villagers wielding torches and pitchforks. Well that was after he devastated the village emotionally. But this girl gave him nothing and Jonathan fumed at that. The girl even spoke at him nicely and that made Jonathan even madder.

He wanted her angry fuming and possibly crying. How to best accomplish that Jonathan needed to figure out. Jonathan then said," You are so nice. Yeah, that's not boring." He then paused and said," Yeah, I could smell you before you arrived. What did you roll in?" He s[removed]ed at that then said," If you want to take a bath that's fine as long as I get to drown you afterwards. There's a nice pond over there make sure not to kill the fishies with your filth." What he did not mention was the pond was filled with dangerous animal’s mostly poisonous snakes and such. He wondered how the girl would take that.
