| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Prerequisites Checklist: Who am I? Mistalee Is this character active, at least a few weeks old and unlikely to be removed in the near future? Yes Do I have at least 150 gold sitting on this character's account? I can with a transfer from my other chars (or will in the very near future) Character this cPrC is for: Mistalee and Illianis (who helped me create this) Why should you accept this custom PrC concept? Because there is little going for archers in the non-magical realm. This will give an option to have some fancy abilities that won't require magic. Trick Shot cPrC for Mistalee and Illianis No shot is impossible for you. Your arrows almost become an extension of yourself. Prerequisites: Journeyman: Marksman Must own and use a bow or crossbow <Pricing to go here> Level 1: Fast Re-position: Keeping foes at a distance is your strong suit. So long as you wield a bow you gain a non-magical Haste buff. This allows you to quickly move away from an incoming foe and re-position yourself for a counter attack. Level 2: Snatch and Shoot: You gain the ability to snatch an incoming arrow out of the air with your bare hand. You may then shoot this same arrow back at your enemies. Pinning Shot: Your arrow pierces your enemy in a way (through a limb or article of clothing) that they become pinned to the ground. Before they are able to effectively move again they must remove the arrow. You may use this ability twice per battle. Level 3: Boomerang Arrow: You are able to fire your arrow in away that it will actually turn mid flight to come back in your direction. This can be used to hit someone facing you in the back. This may be used twice per battle. Deflect Shot: You are able to shoot incoming shots (arrows, bolts, stones ect) out of the air with one of your own arrows. This can be used three times per battle. Level 4: Stunning Shot: Your shot dazes your opponent. They will find it hard to concentrate for one post. This may be used twice per battle. Grappling Shot: A good archer not only knows how to aim, but he can also use their surroundings and opponents. Aiming at a location twenty feet away you can pull yourself there in an instant. Using on an opponent, you can either move to their location or pull them to yours if you have the strength. Level 5: Piecing Arrow: Your aim is so accurate that you can find even the smallest hole in someone's armor and penetrate it. This includes the links on chain-mail. The arrow cannot be taken out of the body in battle. If it breaks, the targets bleeding will increase. Can be used twice per battle. Edited by Mistalee, Wed Feb 18, 2015 3:08 am.

Firstly, you need to pick who the owner of the cPrC is - both of you can buy it, but there is currently only one cPrC submission allowed per character, and if you both tag it then it might be that both of you burn your cPrC submission - two characters, one cPrC. THAT said. [This is opinion] I feel it would be great if you could solidly make the difference between Arcane Archer and Trickshot clear in your short flavor description. As you'd said before, AA is the magical archer and Trickshot is the mundane variant of the same. Pre-reqs: Fine. Level 1: Fine. Level 2: Snatch and Shoot: This appears fine, though I will be honest and say that aside from NPC's you will likely not need to use it often. It will need a cap limit of uses per fight, and as the ability isn't very powerful I'd say two times. How would this ability interact with AA arrows, while under AA effects? Pinning Shot: You could probably add pinned to ground, walls, tables - pinned to whatever happens to be handy. It looks good. Level 3: Boomerang Arrow: Fine. Deflect Shot: Fine, although once again I would like to know how this would interact with AA shots. Level 4: Stunning Shot: Fine Grappling Shot: Fine. Level 5: Piercing Arrow: Fine. Some other notes: You have eight abilities here, but you can only have a total of seven spread between five levels, no more than two per level. You top-end ability is fine as it is, but I feel you could come up with something that has a lot more punch to it. Also, I mentioned it in the draft thread, but I will further elaborate here - while there is no overlap in abilities between the two, I would like to know how some of these abilities interact with Arcane Archer - both the current, official version, and the one that is currently being worked on to replace it. |

Change Log: Ownership to Mistalee alone Added more description to the cPrC Removed Snatch and Shoot Removed Deflect Shot Added High Shot Piecing Shot power increased thanks to Aey's suggestion in CBox. Kept part of my original idea and lower its usage. Trick Shot cPrC for Mistalee No shot is impossible for you. While it may seem like you use magic to enhance your abilities, nothing could be father from the truth. With the use of skill and subtle abilities you are able to pull of shots the average archer can only dream of. Prerequisites: Journeyman: Marksman Must own and use a bow or crossbow Level 1: Fast Re-position: Keeping foes at a distance is your strong suit. So long as you wield a bow you gain a non-magical Haste buff. This allows you to quickly move away from an incoming foe and re-position yourself for a counter attack. Level 2: Pinning Shot: Your arrow pierces your enemy in a way (through a limb or article of clothing) that they become pinned to the ground, a table, the wall, a tree, ect. High Shot: You shoot your arrow so high it disappears from sight. The arrow will fall back to the ground in two posts, taking your foe off guard. This may be used twice per battle. Level 5: Piecing Arrow: By drawing your bow to its full length you add power behind your arrows. Your power and accuracy lets your next three arrows have enough penetrating force to pierce heavy armor and shields within 50 feet of you, can go through wall (so long as they are not made of stone or brick), and may not be affected by weather. Magical protection will only proved partial dispersal of the force of the shot and weaken it to that of a normally shot arrow. The arrow cannot be taken out of the body in battle. The three shots need not be made in the same post, but may not be separated by normal shots. May be used once per battle. |

Grappling Shot: Needs an activation limit. Level 5 - Piercing Arrow: Maybe a fatigue modifier on it. Everything else looks good to me, so we'll see what someone else comes up with that I missed (probably Leyanni) lol |

Abilities and core concept look good to me. This could use a minor grammar/clarity cleanup, but otherwise no issues. |

I am hugely sorry about the long wait - for whatever reason, I and others missed that this PrC had been updated. This is very close to being done, but right now the trick shots are extremely spammable. It might be best if they shared a common "resource pool" that made each trick shot pull from the same pool. Like say you have X "trick shots" starting a battle and they regenerate at X rate and each trick shot costs X amount. Other than that this is fine. The trick shot pool can be a meta-rule so it won't take up an ability, like the metarule in Radiant. |

and sorry I missed your reply until now. I will think on how to rework the spammability of it and will try to get something new up today. I kinda like the idea of a trick-shot pool, so that I am able to use what ability I want so long as I have points. Though I think the final lvl 5 ability will remain a once per battle thing. Maybe "Uses up all remaining points," even. Thoughts? |

A once per battle limit would be fine because then the ability would serve as a trump card even when you've exhausted your other resources. |

Edit: Added a point system as per Ley's suggestion. I still gave a cost to lvl 5 ability, as I felt using up all the points and still being able to use the big one seemed unrealistic. It still has the limit of once per battle. I am willing to edit and adjust the points allotted based on feedback. Trick Shot cPrC for Mistalee No shot is impossible for you. While it may seem like you use magic to enhance your abilities, nothing could be father from the truth. With the use of skill and subtle abilities you are able to pull of shots the average archer can only dream of. It will take rest to regain these points. Level 1: Fast Re-position: Keeping foes at a distance is your strong suit. So long as you wield a bow you gain a non-magical Haste buff. This allows you to quickly move away from an incoming foe and re-position yourself for a counter attack. This is passive and does not require any trick shot points. Level 2: Pinning Shot: Your arrow pierces your enemy in a way (through a limb or article of clothing) that they become pinned to the ground, a table, the wall, a tree, ect. Mistalee, I think that the idea Leyanna suggested would be better than limiting yourself to just 10 points per fight. It might be easier than having to do math as a fight progressed, but for an extended battle it would allow you to keep hitting as long as you need to. If you really don't want that, then this looks ready for pricing. |

That's what I thought she meant when she said a trick-shot pool. I am willing to adjust if you can more clearly state what was intended. Or I simply go back to a X times per battle system, and just adjust the numbers down if you think its too spammable with those numbers. I am flexible either way. Other than that, I will await the staff to set the prices you deem reasonable for this. Edited by Mistalee, Tue Aug 11, 2015 4:47 am.

Well, for instance, your max pool size is say 10, you start with 5 and gain one per round, indefinately. Thus, its not necessarily spammable but you can keep doing stuff through the entire fight, no matter how long it goes on

I believe this just needs some formatting work done on it, and maybe a little cleaning up on wording. Other than that, I am personally happy with how it looks - a nice addition to an archer character. Pricing? Level 1: 75 Level 2: 100 Level 3: 125 Level 4: 175 Level 5: 150 Need a reviewer to look over the cPrC for final approval, and approval of prices as set out above! |
