Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

She could tell that Cameron was confused by what just happened. Right now was not the time to explain. They had some bandit to deal with and more would be stumbling out of the dark globe she had created soon. The globe itself would not last much long anyways.

Without another word she stepped past Cameron and let an arrow fly hitting a heavily armored man right between the eyes. She just prayed that they could deal with this quickly. There were far more bandits than she had anticipated.

The fight was intense, they succeeded the defense of the caravan, at what cost? A douzain mercenaries died on this job. Cameron had asked the merchant to wait for them to burry his fallen employees atleast. The client was against it, bandits coul attack at any moment again. Nevertheless, with Cameron not knowing most of them, he showed respect for his fallen job partners.

The return on the job two hours later was silent, heavy. The rain had slowed down, but the sky still gray an cloudy, to fit the grim atmosphere. The muds stuck to everyones boots. Death still had heavy stench.

She was breathing hard by the time the fighting was over. They had fought of superior numbers, but not without losses. She was thankful to see that they were given the chance to bury their dead. They deserved that honor.

One of the lads who had been complaining about her riding on the wagon earlier, was now grim faced and quiet. He looked to the elven woman. "Does it get any easier?" he asked simply.

Her emerald eyes met his. "No, it does not," she answered honestly. "Nor should it. If you ever get use to seeing your companions die..then you have lost what makes you human, so to say."

He merely nodded to her before she walked for to retake her post as the caravan moved on. The rest of the day was thankfully uneventful and quiet. With luck, the rest of the trip would remain so. When the day came to a close she found Cameron and took a seat next to him.

"Never an easy job is it?" she said softly.

It was difficult to bear. The death of nameless comrades. They could not even reach relatives and family to tell about the grim news. Though the air tasted like bad iron when death is around. His mind was away, so much death of dear friends all of his later years. He was not getting younger. Cameron's eyes on the ground in front of him, his pace slow heavy with the feeling of being responsible. If he was stronger, if he had a better strategy, if ... Too many fact and hazard came in the balance. He knew he could not control everything, but still.

The elven archer came to him, looking pretty much in the same mood as him.
''Nope... I keep having in mind the death of half my company including one of my cousin and loyal friends... Seeing others dying on the job, reminds me of them. They were outnumbered four to one, worst of it? They were assaulted while asleep.... It was a sheer slaughter... If only....''

If he had been sleeping in the same hut, Cameron would have died too and he knew it. He could not out manouver a full stealth brigade. That Imperial Conclave... His hands clenched on the hilts of his sword. He had to train. To be better. To be a leader worthy to follow. ''I need to train...''

She understood the pain of loosing people you cared about. After all, she had lost most of her family when she was just a child. The memories still lingered, fresh as the day they were made.

When he mentioned that he needed to train she looked over to him. She had watched him a bit during the battle and had seen that he did have good skill with a blade. He could improve, but then again so could anyone. Though she was not vain about it, she also knew she was better with a sword than he was. In fact her skills with a sword equaled her archery skills.

"If you are willing," she began. "I could teach you a few things. "I might prefer the use of my bow, but I have equal skill with a sword. I use an elven style, but maybe you can use a few things to adapt it to the skills you have already mastered."

Elven forms of fighting to adapt as his own? That usually ended up as a century long training! Would he really be able to learn that? The only time he really had to learn about the elven fighting style was when he was sparring with Lilliana, or the dual with her brother Tavis for the approval of their wedding. Beside that... No he did not. He grinned, still sadness in his eyes.

''That might help actually. Let's end the job first though, we can work it out after.''

She smiled softly as he accept her offer. Looks like she was about to be spending a lot more time with this man. Her instincts told her he was a good sort, and she was rarely wrong about something like that.

"Good!" she said. "My swords could use a bit of use anyways. If you ever see me using a longsword, you know something has seriously gone wrong. I have hardly used my swords since I took up my current bow."

She ran a hand down the length of the weapon. "This bow is the reason why I learned both bow and blade," she explained. "There are very few people who can use a weapon such as this. I inherited it from my father."

She was mostly making small talk for now. It often helped relieve stress and make the time go by faster. Plus she wanted to get to know her new trainee a bit better.
