| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Malaure waited as he slowly crawled up her still scaly arms and notice the fur had spread from her ears down her neck to the shoulder already. Once he was settled in she noted the fur was had finished with her tail and was working it's way up her back side and down her legs. It felt really weird as she had never had anything but scales. The owl claws on her now softer shoulder was an odd feeling too. She was just glad that Chris was also cool headed about this. Most people who weren't used to adventuring just panicked. Panicking never helped or more likely made things worse. She tried to ignore the feeling as she continued down the road. She noted they were probably a good distance behind the merchant. It would take a while to catch up to him. She decided to talk to Chris as she jogged along the road. "Umm... you have had a conversation with a pigeon? You a druid or something?" The fur continued to expand across her form finishing covering her face as she spoke. She did notice her body shape was remaining mostly the same so she wasn't becoming a full cat or anything like that. That was good. |

The Owl was spending the time examining his new apperance, shaking the feathers a little, but he did listen to the asked question. "No, I am not a druid, not that much for tree hugging. I'm more... uhhh... something else. I guess the term is animal charmer, I get along with animals... oddly enough dogs and wolves mostly, but I can talk with most animals." He made a pause, thinking over his situation. "Not all animals are smart enough to have a valid conversation with, which is good or I would feel bad about eating them. No hard feeling to them of course, but I am still a predator." Chris examined the new changes to her as she ran. "Well at least you get to experience what it is like to be me. That is usually what I look like.. well when I want to, apart from during fullmoon, then I change without having much of a choice. Makes me wonder what would happen now if a fullmoon came out..." |

She listend to Chris and had to slow down a bit at one point to toss her no ankle length hair over her shoulder, so she could hold it in her arms. She was quite sure it would have been dragging behind her on the ground otherwise and that was a tripping hazzard. Plus this stuff was damned heavy. The fur finsihed covering her body. It Seemed she stilo had her draconic shape, but was now compl ed tely covered in black fur which poked out of her clothes in clumps. Given fur was thicker than scales her normally tight clothes were being strained a bit, butseemed ti be holding up. As Chris finished talking she muttered, "Wish I had a knife or pair of sscissors. Stupid hair." She then rezponded to Chris, "Animal Charmer ehe.... oh yeah I think I have haer of thosd and I totally get the enjoyment of being a predator. Nothing quite like a sucessful hunt ith your own class and skills before diner. So from the moon comment I gather you are a were creature. You don't go crazy during a full moon do you? I know a few people have control issues during that time. I think the next moon is only a week away. I wonder if you wlukd necome a caowl. You know a cat and owl mash up. Or would it a towl for tiger and owl mash up?.... hmm odd thing to think about. Also not sure how I like this fur stuff. I feel so soft.... sort of open to attack... or maybe that is just my lack of scales. Also doss it always itch? It feels really annoying right now. Having never had hair let along fur she had no idea about it at all. In trith it was mostly hed fur being eubbed the wrong way a as it was all bunched up under her clothes. She might have liked it more if she had time to brsuh it out a bit. She continuex to jog along. Her head hair still growing, but if looked likd it might be slowing down. Malaure could only hope. |

Chris made a sound that must have been what it would sound like if an owl chuckled, now it came out more like a ho sound of the kind made by... well owls. "I cannot help you with that, sorry." He commented after a small pause, he did not comment on her words about the hunt.. even if it was true. He did enjoy hunting as much as your average feline... and human, which he guessed was taken from both. The weretig... uhh... owl shook his head at her question. "No, I do not go crazy, Its mostly werewolves who have anger management issues during the full moon. I intend to not find out what might happen, but I do not feel like becoming a towel... " He made the same ho sound as before, yes it had to be him making a laugh. He then pinched her shoulder a little. "Hey! Some of us happen to be very durable even without your fancy dragon scales, I am still a burning fist, even if I presently have no fist..." He examined his clawed feet, did not feel like he could do much with those in a fight. Maybe he could cover his wings in fire and swoop down like something from nightmares? The flaming owl? Hmmmm, not an all to bad idea maybe? His arms was his wings now after all. "but no, it is never itching for me.. but then again I was born with fur. Dad and mom were both were tigers, so was my two older brothers. Only dad could never turn himself back so he was always furry." |

Malaure huffed a little in annoyance, Darn will hust have to figure this itch latter. Umm maybe a distraction.... umm you said Kaess was your dad. He adoppted you right? How about you tell me about him? I want to know more about my brother....." The implications then hit her. If so his worked ou then it meant Chris was her adopted nephew. Some thoughts acidentlywrre said out loud. "Ah wait nephew and I was thinking he was a cute guy.... ack I just said that out loud!!!...please forget what I just said and tell me about my brother.... please!" She got serioisly flustered by her slip of the toung. Ironically it made her speed up a bit suddenly. Chris would probably have to grip a bit tighter for a few seconds while adjusting to her new pace. The only good thing was her hair had stopped growing, but Malaure dod not notice this yet. |

Chris spent a few moments to think on what to tell her about Kaess, what was there to tell about dad? "Let's see, he is a monk... kinda, he runs this monastery, I came to live with him before he started building it." He made a pause, it was not often he did these kind of things so he needed to think what to say. "He has a habit of getting himself lost and he forgets names really often, I think it is easier for him to call me son than to remember my name. But I think he got a hang to call me Chris. I sort of ran into him on my adventures and then in short I sort of stayed a while, trained with him and he is a very cool guy." He did remember some of the harsh training he went though and how Chris was so determined to learn these new skills that he really pushed himself in doing them, he did get some nasty burns from the start. "I think he is part elf, but I never asked about his mother... I guess it is your father you have in common? I did meet gramps to, he is odd, but I guess that is to be imagined about dragons." He made a small hmmm sound, as if thinking over his own comment. "anyway, he looks a little like you and as I said before you smell similar, but not the same." He tilted his head to the side at her final comment, he did indeed have to hold on a little harder when she started to speed up. "Well of course I am gorgeous, no shame in thinking that." and he clearly was very humble about it, or he was just teasing her... possible, but not clear. "But yes, I suppose I am your nephew, which makes it funny seeing dad is almost ancient... or well to me he is almost ancient." |

Chis talking gave Malaure time to think and she worked her way through the awkward thoughts. It sounded like her brother was kind of a neat guy. He had an entire monastery and stuff. She also knew he was way older than she was. At least over a hundred years or something. Putting this in perspective she thought about it and realized her being an aunt was just too strange. Chris was actually being sort of cool about this. She actually found his attitude refreshing. She was just over thinking this. She just went with her gut feelings. "Well I don't know how old my brother is exactly, but I did know he is at least over a hundred. I have to admit that is almost ancient. Though thinking about it I don't think I can call you a nephew. Just too weird and doesn't feel right. You are Chris a handsome young guy. After we fix this you need to promise to take me to were my brother is. Though I don't mind if we have a few adventures along the way. That alright with you?" Her tone hinted at something else, but she couldn't really flirt with an owl so that was as far as she went. She had decided she just like Chris and wanted to get to know him more. Especially after fixing this problem of theirs. She then spotted a cart about twenty minutes up the road. Looks like they were nearing their target. |

Owl Chris listened in silence, having found something to do in examining his feathers and experiment how much he could turn his head. Seeing that he was an owl it was rather far he could do so... which was weird. "Odd to look behind yourself without turning around..." he commented, said it out loud, but more to himself than to his "aunt". He did only listen with half attention when she talked about not calling her nephew and pointing out how handsome he was. Or well, he sort of did not register what was said until a few moments after they were said. "Huh? Your brother? Oh yes, well sure I plan to get back to him sometime, I never rush anything. I have not seen him in about a year or so now. I do like adventures and I have a knack to get myself into trouble, so I have a feeling it wont be without events" |

Malaure was a little offended that Chris had clearly only been half listening. That was rude even if she was a big talker. Well at least she had spotted their target. She wondered if they could slow him down some how. She then had an interesting idea. "Hey pay attention I see the cart up ahead a ways. I am going to pickup the speed a bit." She speed up to a run eager to catch the man. They were half way to catching up when the man spotted them and seemed to speed up. They still were going to catch them, but it took a bit longer. Malaure jumped onto the back of the wagon as soon as she could and the man finally stopped. He just said, "Ack mercy why are you chasing me." Malaure was busy catching her breath for the moment. Chris looked ahead towards the cart in the distance. "Well how did you think he would run away that large cart? Unless he might want to bolt and leave everything behind?" Chris commented thoughtfully. He held on a little harder as his aunt began to speed up in order to catch up to the salesman, just like he suspect it was not so easy to escape with that cart in this part of the forest... good for him they were not bandits! The own flapped its wings a few times to regain balance as the companion jumped onto the cart. He examined the merchant, jumping down from the shoulder onto a barrel. "Yes, well you sold some odd fruits to my friend and it had some very unusual... effects, care to explain yourself?" Chris said, or to the merchant the owl said it. "and no I am not an owl, or well not normally, I happen to be the most dashing guy in this forest... and I would very much like to return to being that." The merchant was sweating alrady clearly not used to being threatened, "Re..really that shouldn't be. There were some rummors when i boughtcthe stuff, but when are there not and , but nothing happened earlier when I sold them in town..." Malaure showed one of her claws. ack umm... I mean I did not think.... "Just tell us how to change back or those rummors you mentioned, no lying. "Well rummors did say it could sometime take a while to effect people...Right... right to the point I heard the acdamey of magic had some sort of research thing going on. Lots of rummors about some mystic spring druids use reversing things the last credible one was spmething about shape shifters being able tocforcec ththemsleves back to normal. Stronger the shifter shorter the time. Thats all I know really." Malaure waited a bit to see if Chris might ask anything else or some how get more out of this merchant. Menwhike she pondered what he had said. It seemed the closest option was this druid spring. Mayhe Chris knew where it was. |

Chris did not look away and continued to glare at the merchant when he was talking. He did not say anything and left the talking to his companion. Once the merchant was done explaining the owl took a moment to ponder the current situation. "A spring used by druids..." He said slowly, trying to think if he knew of such a place in this forest, he had been living here all his life and often moved around a lot. "I know there is a part of the forest that is much harder to get though due to the amount of plantlife. That would be a sign that there is something strongly linked with nature close, might be a nice place for something related to druids." |

Malaure nodded, "Well sounds like a good place to start, but first I am going to find somexrope and tie this guy up. I am sure some angry villagers or ex-customers will be along to collect him. Plus if things do not work out I am planning to come back and see you again Mr. Merchant. She found some rope and tied the merchant to his own wagon then got up. "So whoch way do we go Chris?" She then headed off followong Chris' direction to a possible cure location. |

Chris looked around as they began to walk away from the merchant. He tried to remember where in the forest he had seen this... but it was easier said than done to be honest. He did not really take that much time in remembering things that usually was not important to him. But even so, he did try... "Well, I think it was somewhere to the south west from the village, so it should be in that direction somewhere" he commented, waving with his wing in the direction of the forest. "Not much else to go on right now sadly." |
