| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

"What is going on, this is most untoward as a greeting into Norwood!" Grey complained, though he was not truly threatened by the strange events transpiring. He had come to Norwood from his homeland via Earthen Acorns, which had been dropped by the massive central tree of of Norwood, itself. The Acorns allowed easy transport between countries in most cases, but now they were provided to be essential in the trap of some strange metallic undead. Luckily for him he had nature on his side, perhaps not something which would have aided him against the Ivyn of the Calmonah incident, but accompanied by the Lush spell in Norwood in helped against whatever these pulsating creatures were, "Aza, YiPo, I thank you both dearly on behalf of the camp for your protection in this most confusing time. Please do as well as you can for as long as you must." Aza, a Faunafiend, had taken to a Huge cat-like form, with a spiked tail, mighty claws and teeth, and spines protruding from what would be its ribs. It had taken the green hive mind of spores a while to construct its current form, but since completion it was working diligently to guard its friend, Grey, by ripping the mechanical beasts apart. the YiPo, or Nature Spirit in Grey's native tongue, was more or less a form of kraken formed of plant life, covered with thick wooden thorns fit for impaling and a great understanding of its environment and what was most unwelcome, to be more specific the undead which swarmed about. Summoned following the Lush spell empowered its form slightly greater than normal and made it a bit more pleasant to look at, covering it with an array of multicolored beautiful flowers that were apparently native to Norwood. Grey and his elemental companions had not been the only druids caught off-guard by the sudden appearance of the undead. The old tree acted as a hub for many druids, and the trees about it almost like a little temporary village, trained to have their roots lift their trunks from the ground and give enclosed huts for any with access to the proper trees to stay as long as they felt they needed. There were no shops or people selling things, but occasionaly some druids may meet up to exchange plants. Now the mighty tree became a safe haven for any unfortunate enough to be caught unawares by the undead, a perimeter having been set up with overgrown thorns sharpened to impale foolish creatures. Within the thorny wooden walls the druids escorted survivors out and reinforcements in, provided they were vetted as being able to treat nature respectfully. Grey was not overly skilled in non-summoning magic, but his knowledge of tending plants to being thorns as tall as he was helped for the outer defenses, and his elemental companions acted as incredible tools against the undead. Grey was a guard for the tree's camp, with the YiPo and Aza set to lay waste to any of the aberrations which dared come close to the haven. It was protection of the innocent through the extermination of those referred to as the Infected, a necessary cruelty visited upon those who he was assured were already dead to ensure the lives of those who still had their wits about them. Only a single sentient undead had come to the camp for refuge, uninfected but concerned that they might be plagued if anywhere near the semi-metallic husks. |
