| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Her hand was warm and strong to Nia. Fitting for someone who stood a head taller than her. For her, the handshake was also an agreement, whether or not Vivian knew it, Nia would hold her to her word for helping her. She thought it was worth the risk though. "I heard that it was once." Nia replied to Vivian's comment about Cascadia. "It's up there due to magic. Thankfully there isn't an anti-magic field powerful enough to drop Cascadia to the ground. I think that would be a bit of a mess." She turned and walked back to her sleigh. Once she stood on it and rested a hand on the polished wood, it moved it back out of the pine trees. It moved out easily a few inches over the damp ground. With it free of the evergreens, she brushed off the fallen needles and offered a friendly smile to Vivian. "Well, if we are going, might as well start now. Want a ride? I can have my wolf pull it if you prefer an animal in front." Nia pushed aside the thought that she didn't know where her two birds of prey were. Should she try to whistle for them? Would they hear her? Were they still alive? She might still be able to summon them. She would have to check her spellbook. With a chunk torn out like that though, maybe she should also see about getting a new one in Cascadia. So much lost. She shouldn't be surprised, she had died after all... again. At least she remembered more this time, or anything at all, though she was sure there were gaps in her recall. Hopefully Nia wouldn't have to deal with anyone who thought all undead were evil. She didn't want to try to explain how she could be both undead and and and elemental... though she wasn't really much of an elemental. It was just a better explanation for what she was. |

Vivian stared half in wonder and half in wariness at the sleigh. Logically, she knew that Cascadia and the sleigh were a lot safer than traveling with a magic-wielder of any kind. It was the barbarian in her that made her wonder whether magic was like water in a glass and could overflow or explode randomly. So she nodded when the offer of having a wolf out in front was made. It was better to at least see it, even if it wasn’t attached, though she was sure it would be very weird to see it there if it wasn’t attached. Either way, though, it was a small comfort to her. She got into the sleigh and sat down as though it was going to break. She didn’t know how fast this thing could go or what exactly she was supposed to expect from it. She just knew that it wasn’t touching the ground. But she’d accepted the job; she’d just have to accept what came with it. She didn’t accept jobs because she liked them, after all. There had been a few jobs over the years that she’d liked - quite a few, actually. Anything where she could knock a few heads together was fine by her, and getting paid for it was great as well. She had half a mind to ask about the pay for this job but it was a little late for that now. Besides, the girl didn’t look like she could pay for a meal or a drink, let alone a job. Monty, of course, wondered what in the Abyss was going on now that Vivian wasn’t grappling with a rhinoceros anymore. He pocked his head out from between the right side of her right breast and the right side of her tunic. Sniffing the air, he eyed the woman “driving” the sleigh. He almost seemed to snort, as though he didn’t quite trust Nia, but he couldn’t exactly voice his opinions. His head popped back into his little hiding space, nice and warm and (relatively) safe and comfortable. At least it was quieter now. |
