| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

He could feel his arms constantly working against him, even his legs refused his orders every once in a while. The progress the virus was making was startling, even with Fixitt's constant re-wording of the basic orders his limbs had to follow and all of the magical-formulas used to slow the virus down, it just kept on changing it's form to bypass anything he threw at it. Simply put, it was to strong. Now though... he had another plan, what if he put the magical formulas into practice on the flesh based version of the virus, would it have the same effect or possibly start to reverse the virus? Fixitt didn't know, but this experiment could be the missing piece of the cure he'd been searching for. He checked the circular yellow nodes in his pocket, they were undamaged, and had preset commands, they would immediately start to send out the new orders, try to infect the virus and make it revert, or at least stop the spreading of the virus. Fixitt gave a small sigh, fixing the positioning of his hat before preparing himself, his limbs still hid his weapons, his throwing knives and extra crossbow bolts still hidden in his jacket, now he just had to find a test subject and begin the testing process, mostly slapping a node onto a piece of exposed flesh. |

Tulip was frightened. She wanted to help these poor people, but she had been forced tocrun from every infected person. She had found. Her only other choice wluld have been to kill them. She had found the ocasional person who was newly infected. Her spear could halt the disease for a short time, but it too much mana to maintain the spell for long. (OOC: Unicorn spear casting halt diesase) She had tried to get a few back to a more expert healer, but no such luck. She had been forced to flee again and again. It was begining to look hopeless to her. She rounded a corner and saw a Fixit. She was not sure, but it looked like he might still have his own mind. She called over, "Sir are you okay. If you are infected I have some magic and medicine that can slow Iit down a bit." She waited ready to defend herslef and flee again. For all she knew he was another recently turned zombie. |

Fixitt turned and spread his arms, "I have halted the infection by imprisoning it in my prosthetic limbs, the arcano-virus is quite hard to keep in, but for now I am fine. Though I may have a request of you, I need to find some infected, I have a possible cure I wish to try on them." He proceeded to take out single yellow node and walked forward, showing it to the woman, "This should effect the virus in a negative fashion, hopefully stopping, or possibly even re-purposing the virus to seek out and reverse all infected flesh and steel. Usually nodes only effect prosthetics, but if we can slap on of these onto the spine of a foe, it should connect to the brain and start the process immediately." Fixitt realized his lack of introduction and cleared his throat, "Oh, yes, sorry, my name is Kriegger Metall Fixitt, but I prefer Dr. Fixitt, I many lack an actual doctorate, but I have served as a surgeon in the White Queen Wars and run a free clinic in Striberg. I have come here to save these unfortunate people using my unique knowledge of both prosthetics and medicine. Who are you miss?" If she was going to help he should at least get a name, it would be rude to just call her 'woman' but it wasn't like Fixitt hadn't done something like that before. |

Tulip's jaw dropped a little. This man's claims seemed to goodcto be true, businesses he did hav e prosteti limbs and he was not a mindless zombie... also he was a doctor and hadcserbed during that big northern war. He was probably much more experienced than her...not sure what to think she clumsly tried to answer his question. I ... ummm.... really a cure that is amazing .... I mean my name is Tulip.... I am sort of a field medic.... haven't been much use here though. I am never good at anything..... She loiked a little sad. Then again she rarely felt like she did a good enough job. Hdr bad habit of blaaming herself forcthings often beyond her control. Of course this self doubt also often lowered her skills too. She then remebered he had asked about finding a zombie. "oh right there was a big guy about five minutes back that way. He looked really strong and scary though." She pointed back the way she had come from. The zombie when found was a large one indead probably a butcher given the hook and cleaver partially welded to his arms by the disease. It seamed the disease had taken control from the leg, as that was clearly an artificial limb. |

Fixitt listened to her and waited for a few minutes before replying, "Let me give you some advice, one healer to another. Never look sad. If you can't look happy, be like me, stone faced. Take everything in stride, you need to make sure everyone thinks you have the situation under control. Even when a single miss cut of a scalpel could end a child's life, you must remain calm. Never doubt your own skills, always improve yourself. When the healer gives into despair or second guesses themselves, it means you need to recollect yourself, concentrate and focus on what you need to do at that moment. In the end, if someone like me who has no magic or medical training can become an accomplished healer... anyone can." He did not make light being a healer, he was a healer and a prosthetic engineer, he was just that eccentric, this girl needed a kick in the arse and get her self-confidence up. Fixitt motioned for her to follow as he went back to the infected man. He soon found out that she was not kidding about him being big, the man was monstrous, he had bits of metal and wood infused into his skin, the virus had taken him completely. He was busy ripping apart another infected, trying to integrate it's prosthetics into his own flesh. Fixitt gave a low grunt and handed the node to the woman, "Circle around, keep out of sight. I'll keep him busy, you slap the node onto his spine while I engage him. We can talk after seeing the results of my experiments." He took a step forward, his steel arm malfunctioned, but he could use it. The arm blade slid out of his wrist, he gave it a quick slash through the air and set off. The creature turned it's head when it felt the presence of particularly powerful prosthetics. In the end Fixitt was a giant source of prosthetic power, each limb hid weapons and gadgets, now it was time to unleash all the might he could. Fixitt ran at it and ducked it's first sweeping blow, giving a light slash to it's leg before spinning around, sending his left leg up as a high kick, his toes struck it's ribs, but it roared in pain as a knife slid out of foot above the toes, sliding past the ribs, and once Fixitt brought his foot back, the knife went back into his foot. Fixitt grinned, meaning to block the straight punch coming at him, but his arms did not obey him. He threw himself to the ground and growled out, "Blasted virus." |

Tulip was a little surprised at the sudden speech, but she actually smiled a little. It was a little forced, but clearly he had raised her spirits a little. Her voice sounded a little stabler too as she responded. In fact the her entire response to his speech seemed show just how how young she really was. She was tall and looked like an adult, but she was really a teenager at best still figuring out a lot of things. It was in a thousand little ways, but the sort things make you notice that someone is younger. I... I will try my best sir." She then followed the man back and nodded tried to ready her self as Fixit distracted it. She charged in and managed to slap the thing on the creatures back as instructed. She had trained a lot, but still hadn't gotten used to seeing everything around her during a battle. She got a little too focused on tasks at times. Thus she didn't see fixit in trouble until she was pulling back. "On no Dr. Fixit!." In reaction to her voice the thing had also taken a swing at her when she placed the object on it's back. She managed to dodge mostly her spear blocking a bit of the blow. She grunted as the thing was strong and even a glancing blow had shaken her grip a bit. Edited by Tulip, Sat Nov 1, 2014 9:06 pm.

The girl interfered and was knocked away, the infected raised his two arms up, ready to crush one of them into the ground... that is until it's eyes began to glow. The infected stopped, lowering his arms and slowly looking over his body, tears began to flow down his face as he spoke, "I... I'm a monster." He saw the two and began to speak quickly, "Listen to me! The virus, it lets us watch what it's doing. I saw my own two hands murder my wife and child. I... I can't stop it, I can feel it crawling in the back of my mind, trying to fight something new in my body. I... I want to die. It will beat the cure, please, kill me before I turn back, please let me die as me." Fixitt could feel the remorse and grief in the man's words, and if he could feel the virus working against the cure, and slowly winning, then that cure was a failure. He raised his steel arm as he spoke, "Then kneel down sir... I will kill you as painlessly as possible." The man bent down, going down on all fours, he whispered something... but it was to quite for Fixitt to hear. He brought his arm down, the arm tried to stop itself from killing the man, but Fixitt kept it going, his resolve was stronger, and with that the head rolled to the ground. Fixitt's legs refused to move, as if trying to find a way to bring the virus into the prosthetic, but Fixitt knew it couldn't, it could only sense the death of the virus in that man's body. Fixitt looked to the girl and spoke, still ever calm, "As a Healer, sometimes you must learn that sometimes... it is a mercy to kill the patient. These moments are rare, but they happen. Steel your heart for those moments, but never forget them." With that he urged his legs to move, it took nearly a full minute before he got back some control, but now it was time to use another cure, to find another infected to help, even if the help is only to give them a clean death if the cure doesn't work. |

Oooc: apologies for the delay. Tulip looked shocked at the reaction of the victim and Fixit. She looked disgusted and terrified at the same time as Fixit killed the victim. She started to protest "WHAT? Why did you....!" He thencried to explain it to her and she shook her head looking angry, "How can you just decide so quickly. He was no medical expert, but you didn't even examine him that long. You gave up too quickly .... he was suffering, but surely there was something more we could have done.... damn this plauge..." Tulip was mostly angry that the cure did not work, but she alsi had gotten acfeeling that this was more of an experiment to Mr Fixit. She wasn't sure she coukd call him a doctor after that..... doctors saved people and made every efort until they ran out of options right?......still he did sound like he tried to remebercthose people.... did he really care or was it an excuse.... honestly whe realized she had no idea who this man was beside his own words. She was often too trusting and it had gotten her into trouble a lot. She had gained some caution over the last few years. She decided she would watch the man a bit more before deciding any thing. Her anger calmed down as he got up, but she was a little more distant than before. "You know what we should just go and figure out something new... Edited by Tulip, Mon Nov 10, 2014 7:57 pm.
