Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Fixitt had been lucky, finding an intact home of a healer was a godsend, he had set up his supplies, used some of the abandoned supplies, and finally set up several infected prosthetics. He was currently just trying to figure out a way to boost resistance, but had limited success, the boosted resistance could only last a few minutes before the virus simply changed itself to get around it. This constantly evolving monstrosity was really starting to get on Fixitt's nerves. He simply did not have enough hands to keep putting in new formulas into the nodes.

He slumped over in his chair, it was one of three pieces of furniture that wasn't a bed, and rubbed his temples, the cold metal of his fingers relaxed him. But he couldn't stay here for much longer. His limbs attracted the Infected, which did give him plenty of working materials to experiment on, but for now he needed to focus up and make some headway into solving this problem.

Mahou had the pleasure of working as an assistant to several different professors in Striberg. Sometimes it wasn't always the greatest pleasure, but even when he was the subject of a joke or getting turned into some weird creature he hadn't even heard of, (the last one was that of something called a sloth which was apparently some lazy primate that either was the origin of, or associated closely with, the word,) but it was a constant pleasure to be able to learn something for what was practically free.

This was the first time he was being sent away from the Academy to assist. The staff of the Stribergian Academy had assured the mute that he was a spectacular help in demonstrating lessons, a few of the instructors had even apologized for using him as the butt of their jokes or the example of the worst possible outcome for their students, and as a result he was being sent to aid a healer in a place called the Norwood Forest.

Mahou still knew very little about Imythess beyond the city of Striberg, but his trip on an airship to Taras had been paid for, and a caravan had been contacted ahead of time to make sure that he would get to the healer's home with minimal difficulty, a quick lesson in how to summon emergency food and water, and some more delicious supplies to make his journey a pleasant one.

The summoned food was bland, but he was assured that it had the necessary nutrients for survival.

The humanoid feline didn't know about the supposed barricade or troubles going on in Norwood. He had thought the strange sounds he heard might be normal for Norwood Forest and stuck to the path, following the directions he had been given to the letter so that he would end up at the appropriate location.

When at last the janitor/assistant arrived at the building in the seemingly abandoned area, at least it was the right building according to the directions, he knocked three times as hard as he could on the wooden door to announce his presence before readying a note which he was to hand to the inhabitant which would assure that he was, in fact, sent from the Striberg Academy to assist as was required of him.

Fixitt heard the door knock and walked over to it, opening it up to let his visitor in... and he knew the visitor during his times as a professor in the Academy, while he never used Mahou, he knew of him. He took the paper and read it, tapping his foot all the while. Once he was done he looked Mahou in the eye and said, "If you're here to help, I hope you know how to do basic data analysis. I'll be writing down various formulas, I want you to place the formulas into the nodes. To put the formulas in the nodes you need only to think about the formulas while touching the yellow face of the node. I will be doing the same, but right now I just need extra hands for this arduous experiment." With that he began writing down a series of formulas.

Once he was finished, he set the list on a table along with a dozen nodes, but these formulas weren't exactly simple, they were long and confusing, as if made to trip people up that tried to get around it. Just doing the calculations would be immense, but Fixitt was a genius, a made one albeit, but a genius nonetheless. He had his own formulas to do and began touching his own nodes, trying to apply them directly to his afflicted limbs. He looked to Mahou once more and said, "I am Dr. Fixitt, if you have an questions please ask them now, we have a lot of work ahead of us and once this is over... we'll need to gather materials for the tests. Which means hunting infected." With that he once again focused on his arms and legs, sending the formulas into the limbs, trying to slow the virus down as much as he could.

While the face and voice that greeted Mahou upon the door's opening was a familiar one, the felinoid surely having seen the man before at the Academy of Magic, he had never before interacted with the stranger. In the first few moments of actually having to interact with the human, the cat-person deemed him perhaps a bit impatient, not an uncommon trait in the Academy of Magic, but still one that Mahou thought was worth noting. As the man he was to assist read over the note, Mahou opened up his blue notebook, carefully taking a pen from a little magical inkwell and scribbling notes while he had the time. It didn't take the cat very long, and so he was fully ready for his instructions, which he had already figured would be doled out fairly quickly.

It was funny working with skilled magic manipulators. They seemed to fall into similar patterns based on Mahou giving them notes.

Luckily the nodes that the blonde man said Mahou would have to assist with were psychically attuned. The formulas were probably going to be tedious to think about, but the blue and white felinoid had been given worse and more tedious jobs in Striberg, mentally regurgitating notes would only be inversely difficult as the writing was legible.

Mahou looked over the formulas and paused for a moment. He had the fortune of eavesdropping on classes with similar formulas and getting a basic idea of what they all meant, but getting into any specifics was beginning to make his brain hurt. The little cat-person didn't have formal arcane training at all, only knew a few spells, and was deemed as possessing "dubious" magical ability based on the Stribergian Entrance Examination.

Well, at least the man, who introduced himself as Mr. Fixitt, said that the formulas only required to be thought about, not understood, so surely as long as Mahou could comprehend shapes, which he was still fairly certain was perfectly in his field of expertise, he would still be helpful.

The only thing which really threw him off was when the man he was assisting said something about "hunting the infected," but Mahou just dismissed such words as referring to the nodes. After all the nodes were all that the assistant was told about so far, so surely the nodes were all that he had to worry about, and just leave the bulk of deep thinking to the blonde human.

Mahou examined the formulas meticulously as he had his little hands pressed against the nodes, double-checking to make sure he was thinking of all the right symbols in all the right places and praying he wasn't expected to do any more than that.
