Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

It was a nice warm day and the dapled sunlight feltcgood in the shade of the trees. It was just the sort of day you coild relax on. Achasm had needed a break from training with Shan and he needed to go to town for supplies. In truth she needed to calm her mind as it was getting harder to resist being around him. She knew she liked him, but he was in a relationship and she did not want to ruin that for him just because she fell for him. A small part though wanted to steal him away from whomever this girlfriend was. Worse yet she felt like she was tempting him by accident all the time. In truth he probably needed time to himself as well.

She was walking in a deeper part of the woods to avoid running into other people. She had gained some control over her natural abilities with learning the skills of a Melodic Muse. Still she might acidently charm a person.

After a while she started humming and then signing to her self. It made her feel beter and helped her forget her current problems a little. While she had learned not to charm with just signing there was still a small hint of her power in her voice. Probably enough to be more noticable and perhaps arose some curiosity in anyone passing close by. Her ability at singing was pretty good too and this song was just a sort of traveling toon. Fairly upbeat. Being lost in thought she would probanly miss anyone coming up to her until they were right in front or next to hed.

The arrow took the hart in the center of its chest, piercing its heart. It let out a piteous moan and took off, only for its legs to tangle together a few seconds later. The beautiful creature collapsed to the dirt, lungs straining for breath as its lifeblood gushed out and turned the loam to mud. Vivianne lowered her bow, feeling the familiar pang of guilt and empathetic pain as she watched the deer live out the last of its life. It was a necessary evil. The food chain existed for a reason, and as much as she cared for each and every living creature in Norwood Forest, she still needed to eat, as did her pack.

She quickly moved to the fallen creature's side, knife ready to end its misery if required, but it had already bled out by the time she arrived. She murmured a soft apology to the best as she cut the arrow free, wiping it clean of blood and gore on the grass before returning it to the quiver on her back. She whistled shortly. The underbrush rustled as her ursine companion, Kratos, appeared. The bear trundled over to her and nuzzled her cheek. She smiled and scratched behind one ear, growling deep in her throat. He stayed still as she wrapped the deer in a length of doeskin and bundled it across his back, tying it in place with several sturdy lengths of rope.

<"Take him home,"> she ordered in the animal's own tongue, a combination of growls and subtle body language. The bear grunted in acknowledgement, licking her across the cheek with its pebbly tongue. Vivi giggled and shoved him away playfully. Kratos obediently went into the woods, starting the long walk back to the hut where she lived. Her pack made their homes in the surrounding wilderness. She would clean and carve the deer once she returned and share the meat amongst the carnivores, if they wanted it. Sometimes her companions preferred to hunt for themselves.

She unlimbered her bow and notched another arrow to the string, stalking through the woods with the particular gait that helped her avoid making any loud noises. Dark green eyes flickered back and forth, searching for more prey. Although another deer would be excessive, a rabbit or quail would not go remiss. Although she could use her skinsharer abilities to compel an animal to walk straight to her without fear, Vivi always felt... dirty taking advantage of their trust in such a way. Although she still used her sharpened senses to speed up thew process, she refused to use any of her other preternatural abilities while hunting.

After half an hour of searching the woods she came across one of the many small roads that crossed through the woodlands. Although she usually avoided any signs of civilization, she knew that there was a large warren of rabbits a mile off of the track on the other side. She lowered her bow to a less aggressive angle and sprung out of the bushes, planning on crossing the path as quickly as possible to avoid interacting with anyone else.

Unfortunately, that was not to be. Another young woman stood on the packed dirt less than a dozen feet away, clearly traveling upon the road. Vivi froze in mid-stride, eyes widening as she met the stranger's gaze.

Chasm stopped as another woman appearex along the path in front of her. She stoppedxsigining and looked carefully. There was glazed lok in her eyes.... this meant the woman probably had not been charmed. In fact she seemed alert almost like a wild animal Iin a way. She could not seem to look away from the strong gaze. Was she really fetting bettercat controling her charm or was this another one naturally reistant like Shan was.

She decided there was only one course of action. She smiled and said, "Oh hello there my name is Chasm. Nice day out isn't it?"

She herated herself on such a simple greating. It felt akward the moment she had finished saying it. Did peoole actualky greet each other on chance encounters like this.... no most just walked past each other right? Still she hopped the other person might respond it would be nice to talk with another woman. Especially one vwho was not enchanted by her natural magical charm. She had never had the chance before and now she was nervous about it.
