| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Maurice moved behind her, but he kept looking from side to side, the hair on the back of his neck was sticking straight up, alarms were going off in his skull, this was not good. He heard a hoot of laughter... but instead of men, large wolves sprang out from cover. There had to be six dire wolves, the largest behind ridden by a nasty piece of work. He was a bald man, small and wiry, his two front teeth were missing, but his eyes are what captivated Maurice. They were twin red eyes, like freshly spilled blood, his form was barely small enough to ride the wolf, but the flail and buckler he had with him looked well used, and his posture was confident, as if he had done this kind of thing a dozen times before. Maurice stood to Claire's back as he said, "Why did nobody tell us they had Dire Wolves? These things will eat Ferdi and Coggs in a second!" After that he heard a sharp whistle, the wolves stopped advancing. The man let out a small laugh before speaking, "Now wha's all this then? Two of my compateriates bein' taken by some flatty foots. What a rip that is. Now jus' hand'em over an' we can fergit this ever happened." Maurice sighed, it was a lie of course, he could kill use easier with the men freed, but Maurice waited, it was Claire's call. |

Claire froze at the sight of the massive wolves. They were not natives to the area. The man atop it looked strange as well. But he seemed alone, except for the wolves. Claire nudged Galea forward even though the drake was terrified of the giant canines. The wolves backed up a bit upon seeing a strange creature, even if it was smaller than them. Claire motioned to the man's compatriots with her mace. "They are right there. Get them if you'd like them." Claire said. She motioned to the hopeful looking bandits behind them and watched as the direwolf mounted man skirted around them. She patted Galea on the back. "Galea! Strike!" Galea bared her fangs as lightning crackled across her horns and teeth and then exploded towards the man on the wolf. The pair seized and fell to the side. "That wasn't enough to end it, his muscles just seized up!" |

As soon as the blast of lightning hit the man, Maurice was moving. He dove on top of the man and pinned him to the ground, lightly pressing his longsword into the small of his back as he spoke, "Tell the wolves to go away." The man didn't struggle, he laid there and let out three sharp whistles. The wolves seemed apprehensive, but eventually bowed their heads and stalked off back into the forest. The man turned his head a bit and smiled nervously, "There, I sent them back to their home, uh... I'd owe ya one if ya didn't hunt my pack down. They won't harm nothin' unless their huntin', an' they really don't like to eat humans, elves, or dwarves, don't like to eat orcs neither." Maurice helped the man up, the wolf he had been riding was slowly standing up, it began to walk away as the man gave another set of whistling commands to it. Maurice hauled the man towards Claire and smiled, "Got anymore manacles or do I just keep him at sword point?" |
