| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

In my inventory, I have a pair of custom gauntlets used as a mage deterrent. I'm trying to figure out my refunds and I'm posting here to make sure I understand what all I need to refund and to ask about the materials that I already possess. This will apply to other characters with custom armor as well, of course, but I'll be using Tuesday's gauntlets as the example. So Tuesday's "Mage's Gauntlets" consist of Gauntlets, Beast Hide, Bracers, and Spell Turning (I've already posted to get a Masterworking refund). The new shop states that I can buy a material and classify it in a category rather than having to buy the armor and the material. So would I get a refund for the Gauntlets, then, and list the Beast Hide component as Leather Arm Armor? Also, because Bracers are no longer a listed add-on, do I need to get a refund for them? Assuming the above questions are answered in the affirmative, I assume the components list would be Leather Armor (Arm) and Spell Turning. Correct? How would I describe the gloves, then? 'cause the idea behind the gloves was that they would protect the forearms and hands and grant Spell Turning. Would they just be long gloves, then, perhaps with ties (like on bracers) for tightening the forearm protection? |

Most of the material prices are increased from their old values, so you'll need to pay the difference. However, you get full refunds for the armor add-ons that have been retired (bracers, spaulders, and leg armor). Between the pieces and the addons, you should end up ahead. In your specific case, you are eligible for a refund for your gauntlets component and your bracers, but you will need to pay the difference for the new material price. I checked the numbers, and (at ARP price), you get a net refund of 5 gold. |

For future reference, you never have to pay the difference when we raise prices on something. |

Oh. It said something in the announcement about paying the difference. |
