| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Her amazing plan to travel the land of Imythess had been going great so far. She passed by many civilian fights, a few dark alleys where she could have helped victims of horrible events but instead passed by while enjoying the sounds of their screams. Nobody seems to bother her, nor did they bother trying to change her direction of travel. She was sure that the locals had known where she was travelling, but obviously she hadn't, considering the fact she's never been here before. Needless to say, she was a little worried. It was warm in these woods, which first off she had grown up in sub zero temperatures where the colder it was, the better it was for her. In comparison, she felt like she was in some sandless desert. The darkness made her uncomfortable, but only because she was used to everything being covered in pure white snow. The spiderwebs and spiders didn't seem to bother her; it was mainly just the 'heat' that had her worried. She was lost in these woods now. She had travelled so far in that there was no path anymore, or perhaps she had strayed from the path without noticing until now. She was in her human form. It was obvious that she wasn't from this plane, with her pale skin, white hair and red eyes. She had a thin body, making her look fragile and nearly sick but her temper compensated for any weakness. She wore a cheap white shirt and white pants underneath a black robe with an oversized hood. She obviously was not talented whatsoever with making herself 'look good'. She didn't really care about her appearance (it's not like she had a mirror to care about it anyway), she just wanted to get better at her abilities and skills. However, the only way to do that was to test herself. As she got deeper into the Woods, the albino began to hear strange noises. These were noises she had never heard before, nor had she heard of them existing. Her heart began to beat faster so she cast her Frost spell so that the temperature would drop around her, but only as much around her as an aura would be. This helped her calm a little bit, but the sounds still kept her on edge. When she stopped walking though, the sounds seemed to stop as well. She looked around at her surroundings without moving her feet, and tried to figure out what the sounds were, when suddenly... |

It realized that it had made an escape, growing up so safely within the confines of the Spiderhaunt Woods. In the webbed area of its raising, it could hunt safely with others of its kind, smaller maybe but similar. They worked together to catch food, to string of traps for their meals. It became foolish with that sort of upbringing, it went out to explore, to expand its hunting and feeding grounds. The beast that it had come near didn't even know that it was there, it didn't recognize the presence of either large predator. The spider should have been wiser, but it believed itself to be an apex predator. The monstrosity which waited patiently beneath the gentle and innocuous green waves of the marsh for its next pitiful meal. The beasts at the wooden hive of man had managed to drive it away, clad in metals as such weaker beings tended to do. There were too many too good at using their very large weapons, so the being known mostly as the Bone Gnasher was forced back home with a few cuts to lick away. It almost lost an arm in the encounter, but there was no scar left of it. The massive arachnid, perhaps the size of a cow, stole the unsuspecting large bird from the waterside, lashing forth and grabbing it back before Vreten had ample time to respond. The Garask burst from its disgusting green cover to lash forth, but his bottom claws caught loose mud and made him slip before so much as scratching the beak of its prey. The spider made off, but not without the scaled monstrosity trailing after it. The Killer Croc specimen roared, bursting from the waters and changing its mind about what might be for dinner that night. Yes, spider was a rare treat whereas the winged creature was not. To have such a mighty creature for a meal might even prove filling. The grim visage of the troll pulled back into a wicked, toothy grin as it charged forward to end its hunger. The spider, perhaps about the point it was tackled for the first time, let loose its stolen meal and screamed out a high-pitched sound that seemed to reverberate off of itself. It cried for help and managed to throw its attacker off before returning aggression. The two mighty beasts of the Hauntwood Marsh and of the Spiderhaunt Woods fought within the home of the latter, with Vreten roaring a sound like a deep, distorted crocodile, and the spider one of some sort of maddened beast exposed to helium while still retaining a haunting sound. Eventually the fight would end, but not before Vreten charged with the beast's head in clawed hand out into a clearing and in front of some tiny, pitiful creature not worth so much as the title of "snack." The impact would crush the spider-creature's head soundly, all eight of its limbs going limp beneath its killer's mighty form. The garask wouldn't even bother looking at its prey, instead glaring up at the girl golden-green eyes shining in the very little bit of light that managed to creep through. Its mouth was all teeth, from behind which a low growling sound could be heard. Things were rarely what they seemed, and the Bone Gnasher wasn't sure whether or not the little white thing in the black over-hide would be more or just as such, and as such didn't move from atop its food's corpse. |
