Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Eliza continued to prepare herself for a fight as she followed Ari and Melati through the cramped corridors to the armory. Usually, she only allowed H.A.T.O.N. to feed off the smallest possible amount of mana that would keep her converted flesh functioning.

But it always wanted more.

Now she allowed the symbiote to gorge itself, feeding it more magical power than she usually dared. Gears groaned and plates of metal clanked as H.A.T.O.N. aligned itself for combat. Her arms grew bulkier as defensive plating was reinforced. The lids on her attack nodes slid back into her palms, revealing the pulsing crystal apertures. A narrow line opened above either eyelid, translucent azure lenses flitting down over her sockets and giving her a bug-eyed appearance. All the while she could feel different alterations, deeper changes as the symbiote used its new-found energy to convert more of her body to organic steel. Her skin itched around the edges of its growth, a small but significant reminder of the risk she was taking.

It didn't take long for them to retrieve Agorst from the armory, the guard on duty actuallly helping out instead of trying to apprehend Ari. Eliza frowned at her companions. "I say we let Melati take a shot at it. She's researched the incarnations thoroughly." She shot a sheepish smile at her bodyguard. "No offense Ari, but just a little while ago you were in denial over the whole situation. If Melati thinks she can keep it from fully awakening, we need to take that risk. She wasn't entirely sure what would happen if the incarnation became fully aware, but from the attitude of the Nalaians, it wouldn't be good for their chance of success. "Besides, we couldn't really handle him at this level. Maybe she'll give us a chance this time."

Finding a window overlooking the riot wasn't difficult. Eliza barely suppressed a gasp at the sight of the crowd. A roiling mass of people had completely surrounded the building. They were so tightly packed that it was difficult to distinguish one individual from the next; instead they appeared to be a single entity with a thousand arms and legs, pressing against the walls of the compound as if they could break through it with their hands and fists alone. More civilians were getting drawn into the mob, filtering through the nearby streets and joining the rearmost ranks of the throng. The guard stationed around the perimeter looked quite worried, and rightfully so. The majority of the crowd looked unarmed for now, but if that changed the situation would become bloody, and fast.

"I can carry one of you," she explained quietly, "But any more than that and we'll fall straight into the crowd. Can either of you tell where it is?" Out here she could feel the edge of the Sovereign's influence. It hung over the crowd like a pallor, making her insides twist uncomfortably. Ari was right; it was easier to deal with now, but it didn't seem as if they were outright immune. Eliza was hoping that the potency of his power would be diminished by how many people he was corrupting at once, but there was no way of knowing.
