Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Starmetal Glaive
 
This polearm has been crafted out of the ore from a meteorite that fell to Chaon. The entire haft and blade of the weapon is made from a single piece of metal. An etching of a dragon has been inscribed along the blade of the glaive that will begin to glow with every successful hit, like a meter. Once the blade has been charged in this manner five times it will be able to activate its special effect. A charged Starmetal Glaive can be pointed at any stationary metallic object in the immediate area and convert it into a powerful supermagnet. Other metallic items within fifteen feet of the magnet will be attracted to it. For the first post after activation, this attraction is simply a persistent tug; for the following two posts it will be strong enough to disarm weapons or drag armored opponents across the ground. The weapon cannot start accumulating charges again until the attractive force fades. The Starmetal Glaive is immune to its own magnetic effect.

Cold-Blooded Staff
 
A serpentine ice spirit has been sealed in the body of this gnarled staff, causing unthawing ice to form in its folds and cracks. Using this staff as a focus adds cold damage to all your spells. Tapping the Cold-Blooded Staff twice on the ground releases the magical seals that keep the spirit contained. The ice spirit is long and massive, able to strike at opponents up to 30 feet away with its fangs, but its tail is permanently anchored to the staff. The Cold-Blooded Staff cannot be used as a focus when the ice spirit is released.

Serpent's Penance
 
This polearm has been crafted out of the ore from a meteorite that fell to Chaon. The entire haft and blades of the weapon are made from a single piece of metal. A serpentine ice spirit has been sealed in the body of this double-sided pole-axe, causing unthawing ice to form in a coating over Serpent's Penance's surface. A dragon has been sculpted along the haft and the blades, the dragon's wings functioning as the blades themselves. On each successful hit, the dragon's wings will begin to glow brighter. Once the blades have been charged in this manner five times, it will be fully charged and able to activate its special effect. When fully charged, Serpent's Penance can be pointed at any stationary metallic object in the immediate area and convert it into a powerful supermagnet. Other metallic items within fifteen feet of the magnet will be attracted to it.
