| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

"Well, I canna ken they'll make that greata deal aboot it," she said with a laugh and grabbed Atzolek's hand. She half pulled him up the hill, smiling. At the top they were greeted with a cheer and a few hoisted mugs. The bonfire was blazing beautifully, the music was at full tilt and several dancers were already swinging each other around, even as more people arrived on the hilltop. One of the Kellcarin's neighbors, a bearded man who could pick up and throw rams when they misbehaved, grabbed Norta by the waist. "Yer dancin' wit me, lass!" he roared, sweeping her into the reel. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw her sister try grab Atzolek and do the same, though with much less momentum. Just more enthusiasm, if such a thing were possible. They danced round and round as people ducked in and out of the reelers, throwing logs on the blazing fire and laughing when they got tangled up in the dancers. The song ended before Norta was ready for it too. Then her father, bard though he was not, signaled for silence. "Good sober folk," he began, standing on the log pile so all could see him, "though I hope not sober fer tae long." This met with an appreciative laugh. "We nae can have a party without havin' summat t'celebrate, so I will tell ye of what t'man who calls hisself Atzolek - come up here lad - did to merit this fine party in his honor!" What followed was a long and colorful story that was remarkably close to the truth. It ended with Norta producing the dire wolf pelt, which had been brought to her by her mother. Everyone was impressed and gave Atzolek three hearty cheers and a shot of the finest Lowton Whiskey the could find. Norta desperately hoped it wasn't that awful moonshine her cousins made when they thought nobody was watching. There were more than a few female faces looking at Atzolek speculatively - some of them goodly married too. Norta decided to rescue him from that. "Play Kelifenora!" she called to the musicians. "Yer dancin' wit me, lad," she cried to Atzolek holding out her hands. |

Atzolek walked up the hill with Norta and over to the fire, where the party was already going strong. Once he got there, he looked over at Norta, only to see another man--who was fairly strong but probably not so strong as Atzolek. He pulled Norta away, and before he could try to do anything about it, he felt an enthusiastic tug on his arm. He looked over to see a woman who clearly wanted him to dance with her. As much as he was expecting to dance with Norta, he decided not to worry about it. He let the other woman pull him into the dance area, and he danced with her for a little while. Soon afterward, he was invited up front and center so that one of them could tell his story and honor him for his deeds. This included giving him a shot of something that was good and strong but that he didn't recognize. He decided that it was pretty good stuff, even if it was stronger than what he was used to. Of course, as he'd expected, being the center of attention like that made a number of the women in the group interested in him. Before anyone could do anything, though, Norta approached him and basically told him that he was dancing with her. He didn't reply but just smiled at her, which was probably enough of an answer by itself. He took her extended hands, and he started dancing with her once the music started. |

Norta wanted to ask Atzolek what he thought of the festivities so far, but the dancing didn't leave much breath left for conversation. Instead she gave him her best glowing smile. 'Kelifenora' ended, but the musicians rolled into another song and the dancing continued. Norta was perfectly willing to keep dancing with Atzolek, but if it came time to trade partners, she was happy with that too. She'd never fit in a ballroom, but she loved to dance. After about four or five songs however, she was ready for a break. She found her way back to the main hall where there was food and drink. There were no fewer people though - those who didn't dance found their way here and the hall was loud with conversation and games. She drained a mug of ale and poured herself a second one, this time of mead that a neighbor had brought and sat down on a bench for a well earned break. ooc

Atzolek enjoyed dancing with Norta. She maybe wasn't an expert, but she was pretty, and they seemed to do fairly well at keeping up with each other. He stuck with her for a second song, but after that, another woman pretty much grabbed him from her. She was a bit older, and unknown to him, she was already married. Each of the two dances after that brought a different woman to him. They didn't even ask but simply told him he was dancing with them. After five dances, he caught a glimpse of Norta leaving the dance floor and decided to do the same, saying that he wanted to take a break. The moment he was away from the dance area, another woman thrust a mug of ale at him. "Have a drink." The woman seemed to be expecting him to stay with her, but Atz took the drink and continued toward Norta and sat down beside her. He smiled at her and asked, "Too many people trying to get their hands on you?" |

The mead went straight to Norta's head, making her cheeks blush rosy. She giggled at the venomous expression on the face of woman Atzolek had escaped from. "Nae, but ye look as though ye dinna have the same trouble." The woman gave her skirts an angry flick and stormed outside. Norta giggled again and rested her head on Atzolek's shoulder. "Have t'a beat the lasses off wit a stick, do ye?" |

It did seem like every woman in the area was interested in Atz, but he wasn't really interested in trying to dance with everyone. He was interested in Norta, and she so far seemed to like his attention. He didn't miss the way the other woman gave Norta a dirty look and then stormed out of the building. Norta might have to watch for that one later on. He said, "Maybe they're starting to accept that we are together, though I can't say for sure. It does feel like I almost need a stick, or my sword, to keep them away." He lowered his voice almost to a whisper and leaned toward her to say, "Would we be able to get away with sneaking off, or are we too close to the center of attention?" |

Norta glanced around the room. Everyone was occupied, either with games or food or talk. "Nae, I think we're fine." A mischievous smile crossed her lips. "I ken a good place fer..." she winked at him, "anything ye'd care t'think of. Follow me." She slid off the bench and cut out through the kitchen, then out the kitchen door and into the yard. The orange glow of the bonfire blazed above them, casting the back of the main house into chill darkness. Norta circled the barn and animal pens, avoiding a couple small copses of trees that were (knowing her family and neighbors) probably already occupied. She finally opened the door to a tall, narrow, long shed. Inside were plies and piles of canvas bags and woolly skins hung or piled from floor to ceiling. It smelled strongly of sheep, but it had a wooden floor and was quite warm. "T'wool barn," Norta said. She grinned. "Nobody thinks o'it. Ne'er ken why." She shut the door and wedged a bit of wood in the base of it, firmly shutting it - from the outside, anyway. "Naew," she said turin' t' Atzolek. "If ye are nae bothered by here, I can see that ye get a proper hero's reward." ooc

They got away from the house easily enough. No one even so much as tried to stop them. Perhaps they were just letting it happen, or maybe they were too occupied to notice. North led him around the property for a bit until leading him into the wool barn. It definitely had a smell to it, but it was a good place to hide for a while. Norta even took the time to secure the door. Atz had just been thinking of getting away from the crowd and talking, but Norta clearly had other ideas. This wasn't something he'd done before, so he didn't know how to react. He just blushed and gave her an embarrassed smile. |

Norta knew that look - that embarrassed smile. Well naew, if he is nae unicorn bait, he's well-nigh near enough. But the last thing she really wanted to do was embarrass him further. From experience, she knew that could put a stop to the whole activity. So she stretched herself one tiptoe and brought his lips to hers, running her hands along the back of his neck, feeling his scaled skin underneath her fingers. |

Atz had barely realized what she intended to do when she stretched up to kiss him. He tilted his head down to make it easier for her, and he returned the kiss, enjoying every bit of it. At the same time, his hands reached around her waist and pulled her closer to him and lifted her off the ground. After a couple of minutes, he set her down and sat down on a convenient sack. Unsure of what to do, he smiled at her, this time noticeably less embarrassed. |

Ach, aye, def'inately unicorn bait. Better set some groundin', luv, 'cause it'd jest be cruel otherwise. Norta tilted her head thoughtfully at Atzolek. "I'm gonna say this right now. I ain't lookin' fer anythin' long term. I had that, ye ken, an' I lost it an' I need no mare ties. I'm lookin' fer a good romp wit ye, if yer a mind - nae more." She sat down in his lap and gave him a long steady stare. "If yer not in t'mood t'be havin' a bit o'fun wit me, then ye ken push me off yer lap and find t'door. Otherwise..." she leaned forward and kissed him just under his ear, deftly removing his cloak at the same time. "How 'bout ye help me wit the laces on me corset?" |

Apparently Norta was just interested in spending the night with him and not getting into something long-term. He thought he might enjoy staying with her, but it was probably just as well that he not be tied to her for the long term. He was here to explore, after all, and not to settle down in the first village he happened to walk into. On the other hand, he had every reason to believe that he would enjoy having a "good romp" with Norta, even though he hadn't done such a thing before. He gave no resistance when she sat in his lap and starting kissing him and actually started to kiss her back to tell her to keep going with this. His hands then made their way to her corset... A while later, they emerged from the barn, having enjoyed each other's company. This had been a new experience for Atz, and one that he had definitely enjoyed. He would be leaving the next morning, but right now it was time to find a place to sleep. |
