| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

I'd like to attempt a complex substitution of the Slave Soldier's Armaments.
to create The Flag A blood-red flag with an iron flagpole that can be wielded in battle like a fighting staff. Two manacle-tipped chains are attached by rings that allow them to slide up and down the pole without sliding off. At will, this flag can summon a humid, fifteen-foot radius cloud of smog surrounding the wielder. This severely limits visibility and will make it difficult to breathe. The heat given off also muddles thermal vision substantially. The fogbank will last for three posts, and the owner of the flag is exempt from its effects. The chains attached to the flag can be readily used in combat, and if the manacles are locked on one's wrist then this flag is incredibly difficult to disarm. I can also fuse this item with a staff if you want a less funky complex substitution. I also changed the way that the smog ability works by making it so that the flag either has no smog at all or has the temporarily fifteen-foot fogbank. I think that this actually removes one of the item's capabilities because you can now clearly see the flagpole's reach at all times. I removed this aspect of the item because IC it's very important that the symbol on the flag can be clearly seen by default. |

This probably doesn't need a staff fused into it, but I'd like another opinion. The Slave Soldier's armaments are already a fairly large weapon(well, two normal sized ones strung together) so I think it'd be fair. |

I actually think fusing a staff into the mix would be best since 'it can be weilded in battle like a fighting staff' in addition to the chains- its basically just a substitution of the axes. I agree that you scaled back on the fog, effectively removing the 'always' aspect of it for the purpose of character. I don't see a problem with this. |

For the reasons Taiaka already stated, I favor fusing a staff into this for the staff shape and fighting style (A masterwork quarterstaff is only 45 gold, after all). I would say, though, that from an enchantment standpoint, this is a single weapon and therefore has two available enchantment slots. |

Approving the fusion, not the substitution. |
