Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

I'd like to substitute the element of one of the Therab symbiote classes froma Fire element into a Necrotic/Death element. Elemental change aside, the ability would function much the same as the pre-sub symbiote without added damage.

Pre-Substitution:
Scalding-Class Therab Symbiote

This is a symbiotic entity from the elemental plane of fire. Bonding with this creature grants its host a potent defensive mechanism. They can raise the internal temperature of a single portion of their body by a significant amount. Only one part of their body can be affected at a time (e.g. a limb, their skull, their torso, etc.). The body part that is affected can only be changed every third post. The blisteringly hot flesh will glow red, and any contact with the altered skin will result in first-degree burns. If contact is maintained for more than a post it will leave second-degree burns, and for any longer than three posts it can result in third-degree burns. Their bare flesh can be used to damage foes in combat.

Once per topic, the symbiote will allow its host to release a cloud of dense, searing-hot gas. This gas will fill a ten-foot diameter area surrounding the host. This gas is painful on contact with skin, and is especially potent when it gets in someone's eyes. Although the cloud will dissipate after one post, anyone whose eyes are exposed will be blinded for three posts unless they thoroughly wash out their eyes.

Post-Substitution:
Decay-Class Necrose Symbiote

This is a symbiotic entity from the plane of death. Bonding with this creature grants its host a potent defensive mechanism. They can charge a single portion of their body with necrose energy. Only one part of their body can be affected at a time (e.g. a limb, their skull, their torso, etc.). The body part that is affected can only be changed every third post. The decay-causing flesh will lose color, and any contact with the altered skin will result in decay equivalent to a first-degree burn. If contact is maintained for more than a post it will leave damage equating second-degree burns, and for any longer than three posts it can result in third-degree decay. Their bare flesh can be used to damage foes in combat.

Once per topic, the symbiote will allow its host to release a cloud of dense, negatively-charged miasmic gas.

For the first ability, it will simply cause organic decay at the same rate at the heat ability. After contact is broken, there would be no more infection or spread risk than a normal burn.
The second ability functions much the same as originally intended, only with necrotic gases.
