Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Raethul was floating alone the wind in the Debon Plains it was a lazy day so far the sun was high. He could see the grass of the plains flowing with the wind. The wind felt so nice today. It was just the right amount of cool to make the day pleasant. Some times it got to hot or two cold on the road, but today was quite nice. He hadn't even run into any annoying gusts of wind today. His umbrella was out providing some shade as he drifted down the road. He saw the road not far off. There didn't seem to be a lot of people on the road today, but he did see a few scattered at different points, but most were a good distance apart and in small groups.

Just as a woman with auburn hair was coming close a wind gust came up and caused him to stumble forward in the air. The wind continued for a few minutes and he couldn't help but run into the woman from the front. Shortly after the impact he managed to reach his fan and with a quick swing and a few elemental words gained some control of the winds around him. (control winds fan acting as a focus). This combined with his umbrella brought him under control and he could back up. It also allowed him to stay in place for a bit. It took a bit of concentration, but not enough to be a problem.

He probably knocked the poor girl over. If so he hadn't noticed she was blind yet and bent down offering a hand to help her up. ”Oh dear I am sorry about that. I far too prone to accidents at times. Do you need some help up. My name is Raenthul Tathern by the way.” If needed he would grab her hand if she didn't manage to find his.

He noted that the woman was decently attractive from a humanoid. He believed cute was the word they would use for her. Though unlike most of the people he encountered she actually interested him a little. He really wasn't attracted to other races, but he felt like this one was different. Closer to one of the elements maybe. It certainly made him a bit curious about who this woman was and maybe find out a bit more about her.

Today was one of those days when nothing could possibly go wrong. The almost-noonday sun shone brightly high above, floating in a nigh cloudless sky almost as blue as the lake in the desert oasis. The few clouds that moved along lazily were white and fluffy. It was very warm but there was a moderate breeze that kept things nice and cool. Of course, Erin only knew part of this. She could hear the wind moving slowly through the swishing blades of tall grass that adorned the side of the river road. She could smell the dandelions and wild honeysuckle nearby, and she heard children laughing in the distance. She couldn’t help but smile as her silver-etched black ladies’ boots strolled pleasantly along the dirt road that led from the Lover’s Bank into town. It was roughly a three-mile walk, yet she had found the walk to be a peaceful one.

Erin had not been here long. She had begun her existence in Imythess in the Istan Desert, emerging from the elemental plane of water through an underground river that fed a lake, which in turn was the focal point of an oasis buried well within the desolate dunes of burning sand. She had come to Kellen only as a paid healer, and her services had thankfully not been required; she had been paid nonetheless, however, and she had found that the river was a lovely place to play her new violin. She had also discovered that it was a very romantic place to have some time alone when you wanted to experience the feeling of nature as passion took you. She had giggled madly when she first realized what was happening, and she still giggled every once in a while about it now.

But today, she had finished her playing and began to hunger. She required sustenance, and that meant a return trip to Kellen. She had no one to lead her back to the oasis; in fact, from what she understood, most people didn’t even know where the oasis was. It was apparently a great stroke of good fortune when the people of Imythess found the oasis, and this saddened Erin. It meant that she had no way to find her home again, especially since she was blind. There seemed to be no one here who could help her.

She was lost in these thoughts when someone ran into her. She obviously could not see who it was but it hardly mattered. She stumbled backward nonetheless, and she fell hard onto the well-packed dirt of the road. She was no weakling but it did hurt, falling like that, and she grunted when she hit the ground. Fortunately, her head had not landed as the rest of her had. She did pull on her hair a bit as she pulled herself back into a sitting position but she was wondering who it was that had knocked her over when the strong voice of a man spoke. She heard the shifting of his clothing, and the sudden gust told her that his hand was likely near her. She reached out for it, yet she missed it completely.

She was not angry with the man. Oh, she was annoyed. There was no doubt about that. But she was not angry with him. The gust had obviously pushed him into her; he must not be a very strong man if he could not stand up to the weight of a gust such as that, or perhaps he had merely misstepped due to having not expected the gust. In either event, it mattered not. What was done, was done. The man called himself Raenthul. It was an odd name, yet it was no more odd than those she had already taken on in this world. In truth, however, the strength in that voice of his sounded almost boyish rather than manly. He was likely a young man, probably not very attractive, and may have even been clumsy. Whatever he was, Erin had not heard his voice before. Was he a denizen of Kellen? Perhaps he was; perhaps he was not. She would find out soon enough, she was quite certain, just by talking with him.

“I am Erin Wintersong,” she replied to him, offering her own name as a courtesy.

Raenthul qucikly picked up on the fact that this one seemed to be blind. He quickly moved to gently take her hand helping her up to her feet. Since she couldn't see he felt the need to further explain himself. In his normal matter of fact tone he said, "It is nice to meet you Miss Erin Wintersong. You aren't injured are you? ... (insert pause for an answer from her) ... Again I do appologize for running into you like that. Being born a wind elemental I have little control of where the wind sends me. At least unless I constantly use magic which gets quite tiresome. I hope you understand.

I feel like you might have a bit of the elements inside of yourself. Things just flow around you differently if that makes any sense. Not wind though or I would see the differnce in the wind flows around you..... hmm an interesting puzzle. I don't suppose you could enlighten me a bit. Not knowing things like this can bug me no end."

He looked at her with some curosity trully just interested in what was so different. Maybe it was the smell. She certainly didn't smell like unwashed farmer or merchant. Actually he only smelled the faint hint of the ocean which was odd given where they were. Her eyes were also different. He had met another blind person before, but they hadn't had eyes like that. It brought up several questions, but he couldn't ask too much at once and thus waited for her intial response.

His hands were cool to the touch, soft in places, yet somehow had a rather sharp edge to them. Perhaps it was merely Erin’s imagination. The hand that she took felt odd, not at all like the hands of those who dwelt her. But it was more than strong enough to help her to her feet, and the man did apologize for his having bumped into her. She shook her head at his first question, her auburn locks shining an orange-brown hue beneath the light of the sun as she swung them about, for she was not very much injured at all. If she had needed healing, she likely would have known. She was just mildly sore, was all. But now he was calling himself a wind elemental. That explained much, for the wind could be as soft and supple as it was harsh and angry. If he was truly buoyant, it would explain why he had been lifted away beyond his control to careen into such a lovely young lady.

She checked her bag with her hands. Her violin and bow were secure, as was her dagger. She could feel the latter hiding within a small scabbard the same color as the interwoven leather bands that formed her breeches this day: a deep, royal purple. Having no sense of color, the outfit she wore always seemed to shift into whatever was most comfortable for her; she had been told once that her dress was such a bright orange and vibrant green as to blind children and old men, yet she could not personally attest to that. Perhaps her outfit was sentient rather than reactive. If so, it seemed to have a sense of humor all its own. It had even shifted into the shape of a poncho that was far too small to cover anything at all once; fortunately, none had been around to observe that and she had shifted it quickly into a lovely pink blouse and long, emerald-green skirt. But today, it was interwoven strips of purple leather. The white blouse that was tucked into it was cool and airy, allowing her to enjoy the day without growing too warm. Once she was certain that her things were in place, she smiled and answered Raenthul.

“I am a genasi from the elemental plane of water, if that is what you speak of.”

She almost absently brushed her webbed fingers against the flat gills upon her neck, as though to indicate what she was thinking about without really thinking much about it. She ended up scratching a small itch there and folded her hands before her thereafter, allowing them to hang casually like that. She turned her head in the direction that she had last heard Raenthul’s voice as she spoke again.

“So you are magically oriented? Do you know much magic? I am curious about such things, as magic on my home plane is more a part of us than something we perform. It seems that performance is necessary to evoke it, however. What is it you call it? Casting?”

Erin brushed a lock of hair out of her eyes, putting it behind her ear. It was a simple act, one that required little thought, yet it was the kind of thing she did absently that tended to attract male attention. It seemed she was often attracting male attention in Imythess. It was rather annoying, actually, as most of the men in Imythess seemed to have only one thing on their minds (although that wasn’t particularly different from the merfolk that she had grown up around). Artemis had been all right, though - a wee bit misguided by unfortunate circumstances of which he had no knowledge, yet a good man at his core. It was sad what had happened to him, not because of her relationship with him but in general. She forced her mind to the present, however, as there were more important things to focus on right now than the past. She would dwell on the past later, perhaps in the twilight between the waking world and the dream world just before she finally fell asleep.

Raenthul found the fact that this woman was a genasi interesting. On closer inspection he could see a few features like webs and gills on the woman as she brought attention to them. He hadn't met one some of that race yet. Before he could comment she asked her own question. "Hmmm... oh yes I suppose many people do use magic around here. It seems to random honestly. Some people can do without the words or motions, some people cast as you put in different ways. I think it is just how people are raised or think really. At least I haven't found any solid reason for the differences yet.

As for myself I would say my magic is also a part of me. The words are really just things that come to my mind even if I didn't know them before. The only problem is I am quite young for an elemental really so I don't really have mastery of my own abilities at all times. Thus I use a fan to help me focus the winds in doing the right things. With me it just sort of rushes about in swirls following the wind paths that I can change a bit as needed.

Perhaps we should exchange information on magic around here, so we can both understand it better. I have heard some explanations from others, so I can share at least one or two other perspectives. How does magic feel to you when you use it?"

Now that the answer to his question about what was different about Erin was answered he found that he really wasn't effected by her. She was still nice looking, but he wasn't really attracted yet. It would take a lot more than small cute action or meeting one of his own kind before he had a chance of actually feeling a true attraction to another person. As a result he didn't really notice her pushing her hair back and just continued in his normal mater of fact tone. Seeming to just be interested in the subject they were discussing. Though he did note she had an a look of thinking about something else for a moment, but he didn't pry into such matters. He also noticed her clothes which seemed odd in a way.

Purple leather was an just not right. Given made clothes for a living at times he decided he might want to offer making her a few ones that matched her look better than what she wore right now. The blouse was fine, but really the pants were just not fitting for her look at all.

Perhaps the mana that inhabited this world was as free-flowing as it was on the elemental plane of water. But from what Raenthul said, it sounded as though there was a far less controlled flow of it. Some people cast, using words from ancient languages and motions with which to focus their spells, while others apparently evoked their magic with little of either. What she gathered of this world, she gathered from the people with whom she spoke. Artemis had taught her to play the violin; he had told her a little about magic, although not much; he was a merchant, not a wielder of the arcane arts. She had learned a little more of magic from a pair of bards that had accompanied the wagons that she had been hired to act as a healer for, and she had learned a little bit about the geography and climate of Imythess. She had also learned quite a bit about Kellen, and she had learned more still when she entered Kellen at last. But her knowledge was very limited, as evidenced by the fact that she obviously did not fully understand the system of coins that people used here.

As for her own magic, it was more innate than external. Erin said as much to Raenthul.

“When I place my hands upon someone, I can heal them. I have found that I need to concentrate more in Imythess than I do on my home plane, however. Mana here seems…chaotic. Like…like it doesn’t have a set pattern. On my home plane, everything flows in currents. You can predict where the strongest points of mana will be with decent accuracy, and you can follow those currents as need be. Yet here, it is difficult to feel where mana is most concentrated. It seems to be everywhere, yet nowhere…if that makes any sense.”

It probably didn’t, although it seemed that Raenthul was interested in magic enough to study how it functioned. Erin didn’t have any problem at all sharing her own experiences with the healing powers inside her. She had healed many people back home, usually relieving them of minor cuts or illnesses. She had cured Mimir of various poisons a number of times - poisons from coral reefs, from jellyfish stings, from blowfish quills, and more. He was quite poison-prone, it seemed. Perhaps his private war against other genasi was more dangerous that it seemed. Then again, she had never understood war to begin with. She was a healer, not a warrior.

Bringing her thoughts back to magic, however, made her curious. Her brows furrowed a little and she tilted her head slightly as she spoke her next question. She honestly had no idea, for they had none on her home plane. She felt that she might as well ask, if only to alleviate her curiosity.

“What is a fan?”

Raenthul listened with interest. He hadn't been to an elemental plane yet, but it sound like magic flowed in simpler or more controled ways. It certainly sounded interesting. Of course there was probably mostly water aligned mavgic in such a plane so it made sense there would be less issues. Her need to concentrate more in this relm made it seem likely that maybe with more of every element vit was harder to gather just the one she was used to. Well it was a theory anyways.

"Hmm... very interesting I can certainly understand that a bit I think.... He was a little surprised, but quickly answered about the fan. He planted his unbrella in the ground a bit to give himeself an anchor while he showed it to her. "Ah never had a fan before. Well it is pretty much a bit of paper or cloth on a half circle frame that can colapse for easier carrying. When not colapsed you can normally wave it to create a bit of a breeze to cool yourself down.

I can let you try it for a minute or so, but I will need it back after that. Here you go it is foled now and you unfold it like this. Now just wave it a bit aways from your face there we go. Well that is esentially a fan for you though mine is a bit magical with the right words it can produce a pretty good gust and it focuses my own wind magic for me. Any other questions?"

He carefully showed her the fan making sure it wasn't damaged. He held on to his unbrella with one leg keeping himself stable while his magic was disrupted for the brief moment. Once he took his fan back he pulled up his unbrella wondering what to talk about next. A movement in his pocket reminded him of the fruit he had picked up. He didn't really need to eat, but he did enjoy eating and it helped him keep his energy up. He started to peal the fruit as he disliked skins most of the time, letting his companion talk for a bit.

When she took the fan, she did so carefully. She did not want to ruin or break it, after all, if it was made only of parchment. She spent a moment figuring out how to fold and unfold it before testing it out. Indeed, once she figured out how to use it, she was somewhat impressed. She supposed this was a very useful thing in the desert. Erin’s body kept itself very cool, though that was likely due to her nature and her being used to her home plane. She didn’t really need a fan. She could definitely see how useful it must be to other people, however - especially a genasi whose element was air instead of water. When she handed the fan back to Raenthul, she folded it carefully.

“Very interesting,” she said to him. “So you need this to stay in place or the wind shall blow you about…and others use it to stay cool…”

She said this mostly to herself, making mental notes for future reference. She did not need anything to cast magic on her home plane but she wondered if there was an object that could possibly make it easier for her to cast in Imythess. If there was, she should seek it out and find a way to get it. Perhaps she would have to trade coins for it if she did find something like that. She would not mind, of course, but there was one concern. In addition to her lack of knowledge regarding coins, she was blind. Oh, she had managed all right so far. But she had likely been cheated more than once already, though she wasn’t entirely certain. She needed to start being more careful about her coins. If she could find someone to teach her how to use coins, perhaps she could keep better track of her coins and prevent anyone from cheating her.

“Are there other things that can make casting easier?” she asked Raenthul. “Something that can draw mana from my home plane, perhaps, and allow me to cast without putting all of myself into it? Or is that fan of yours unique? I fear I do not quite understand things here in Imythess, such as the function and control of magic or the system of coins for trade.”

It was probably not as subtle a way to introduce her lack of knowledge to this man as she hoped but it was the best she could do. Besides, her only reason for learning to use coins properly at this point was to gather some kind of…focus? Yes, perhaps that was the word. She needed a focus for her healing magic. The two were thus related subjects and equally important. As she spoke, she reached around to her back and started to brush off any dirt that might have found its way onto her blouse from the road. Indeed, it was a couple of moments before her back and rear end were completely (or nigh completely) free of dirt and dust. When she was done, she awaited Raenthul’s answer. She did hope that they could head back to Kellen, talking along the way, but neither of them had yet moved from their stopping point in the road. He seemed nice, anyway.

Raenthul ponder her question for a bit failing to notice her desire to continue on. He was more focused on trying to answer her question. After a few moments he answered her. "Hmm well yes there are certainly other objects that act as focuses. The most comon are wands and staffs. The staffs are stronger and more expensive. Focuses can be crafted in almost any form though. It would probably be hard to find one here though. Norwood Village with the elves have some good magic crafts men and cascadia the floating waterfall city is a big trade hub that would probably have them though very expensive there probably if you don't know how to haggle with merchants.

The best place would be one of the arcane universities. They teach classes on magic too. I never can stay in one place long enough to attend, but it is a great place to learn from what I have heard. There is one in the desert city of Istan though they tend to me mire battle mages. Then there is the city of Stribeg in the far north. They have some of the best mages I hear. Though that journey would be quite a distance and quite cold up there. If you haven't experienced winter yet then think of a place so cold water freezes all the time. Still the city itself is supposed to be beautiful.

Oh my it is getting a bit late in the day why donkt you have some of my fruit here if you are hungry."

Raenthul had just finished pealing it when he rembered other species got hungry around this time. He thus cut it in half and place a half in her hand if she souned or looked interested. He would probably take a bite after she did though he didn't start changing right away allowing him to finish this piece.

“You’re right,” Erin said to Raenthul. “It is getting a bit late…perhaps we should head back to the village. Oh, and certainly…thank you.”

She said that last with a smile as she took a small piece of fruit from her friend. She popped it into her mouth, thinking nothing of it, and it was gone quickly. She seemed to recall that taste very vaguely…like an orange, only…not. She couldn’t recall where she had tasted such a thing, however. As to the arcane universities, they sounded interesting. But despite her politeness, she had refrained from bursting with questions all at once. Instead, she asked them one at a time - or tried to, at least.

“Yes, as warm as it is here, it would make sense that such a journey would be quite long. I wonder, however…what do you mean that water freezes all the time? How does one swim?”

Indeed, it was quite a perplexing conundrum to Erin. She was a genasi from the elemental plane of water, after all. Imythess was a place not filled with water, although there was water in many places. She could handle very cold places but she had taken quite a bit of time to get used to walking, rather than wading; it was still new to her. She managed it nevertheless, and well enough to almost pass for human. But if it was too dangerous for one to swim because they might be frozen, why would one choose to live in such a place? Water was meant to be drank, bathed in, and swam in. Oh, she had seen frozen water before. It was called…ice, she believed. But it was very rare in the part of her home plane from whence she had come. The waters there were cool in many places, yes, but there were warm waters as well. She had only ever seen ice four times in her life, and it had been magically created in every instance.

Then again, this was an arcane university of which Raenthul spoke. Perhaps the ice was magical. Perhaps Imythessians could not survive underwater as water genasis could. Or perhaps ice was simply a product of magical training. In any event, almost absently, Erin found herself stepping slowly and politely around Raenthul.

“We really should head back, I think. I am told that the roads are dangerous when the darkness rises.”

Raenthul drifted to the side a bit as Erin passed taking a large bite of the fruit. He answered her question afterwards. "Hmm... yes I suppose they can get a little dangerous, but not too bad.
As for things freezing in the north it is quite a comon natural thing. Wether gets cold enough and water frezes into ice. Big bodies of water especially salt water bodies frezee less maybe only the suface for a few feet, but even the might ocean freezes in the farthest part of the north. As for swiming well not many swim up there as just being in water that cold is damaging to most people.... ughhh"

Having eaten more fruit Raenthul's change occured first. Quite to his surprise he fell down ching the ground for the first time. He quickly felt an odd tingling on his neck and hands where he developed gills and slight webing to his hands similar to Erin. He was a water Gensi, but it didn't stop there. He saw red fins growing out of his arms and felt a simlar change on his legs. He also felt something changing around his head and but. Reaching up he found furry cat ears. He felt pain and soon had to remove his pants in the back releasing a pink cat tail. He could only assume the ears were the same color. "What in the world..... uggh Still confused it took a few moments until the next change happened.

As they began walking at a casual pace down the road toward the village, which was ahead perhaps a half-mile and another quarter-mile around a hilly bend, the sound of the river grew louder. It wasn’t long before they had reached the bridge, a fact punctuated by the sudden sound of something hitting the strong oak planks hard. Until that moment, Raenthul had been explaining the natural creation process of ice. She had known that ice was cold but she had never known exactly how it formed or what it was made out of. The only ice she had ever experienced was ice created by magic. She had heard that there was ice in other parts of her home plane but she had never encountered it. But now, after that loud noise, Raenthul was speaking to himself in a quiet voice. Most likely, something had bumped into him; perhaps he had knocked over a stone resting upon the stonework railings that flanked the short bridge over the river.

“Raenthul?” she inquired, wondering what was going on. She could not see, after all.

That was the disadvantage of being blind. She could fight well enough to defend herself, though there was little skill or finesse to her movements; she had no actual training because she was a woman. But just because she knew how to avoid an incoming attack didn’t mean that she always knew what was going on around her. This was one of those times. She stepped carefully across the bridge, putting her feet on the solid ground just on the other side of the river, and waited. She could not hear his footsteps. Oddly, however, the bridge had begun to creak while she had been upon it; that was why she had walked all the way across before turning to listen for Raenthul’s voice. She felt…odd, though. She couldn’t quite figure out what was different. For the most part, she didn’t feel any different. But her clothes rest ed a little differently all of a sudden, for some strange reason. She adjusted them, and then they felt fine.

Little did she know that what was happening, was almost the exact opposite of what she had experienced once already.

Raenthul felt pain again and end up leaning or more falling into Erin taking an instictive grip on some clothing. It was then that he noticed she had grown almost twice as large as before now towering over him by several feet. It was beyond unexpected, but then he was a ... well something. She seemed just as confused as he was and couldn't hear him too well. He thus tried to move up closer to her ear which required him to jump, a new experience for him up her back just a little until he could grab near her shoulder and speak to her. With the changes still going and interanal things shifting to make room for gills he found he could not yell to her thus he had to get closer.

While he did thid his hair grew down past his waist then his ankles. It felt very weird to him and was exceedingly heavy weight on his head. His new tail even became long fur and fluffy along with his ears. Thhinking to himself 'Ughh this is just too weird. It is bad enough I must be robbed from the wind, but now I have extra weight on my skull.... this just isn't right. Not at all logical either, what in the world makes an effect like this and growing a person too.... ughh I need to destroy the source of this stuff latter. Oh wait that is it chaos is the law of this effect that makes sense.' Having made some logical sense or at least enough to stop giving himself a headache he was able to respond to Erin. He just suceeded after several tries of grabing onto her shoulders to get to where he could speak to her.

" Umm you seem to be growing larger and I have changed into something else not sure what really and with long hair now.... ugghh it isn't over......". His hands dug into her shoulder not wanting to fall to the ground. It wasn't a large fall, but never having experienced falling like that made him fearful. He just new. Falling could be damaging for those who couldn't float like he usually did.

Again, Raenthul fell into Erin. Erin wondered if Raenthul was always this clumsy. He seemed to possess more buoyancy than balance, and that lack of balance had the effect of throwing him into her, it seemed. She didn’t necessarily mind it all that much, except that it would become annoying if it kept happening. Nonetheless, she didn’t immediately say anything. After all, she figured he’d probably just bumped into something - as she’d thought initially - and it had, in turn, bumped him into her. She couldn’t help but roll her lovely blue eyes just a little bit as she turned away. She had an inkling to ask him to please be more careful. However, before her lips could do more than part, she felt his hands grabbing at her waist. Blinking, she stepped away quickly and whirled about.

With Artemis, things had started off at a slow pace. He had sweet-talked her and treated her well. He had given her things - flowers that he thought were particularly beautiful (and smelled very nice, although she couldn’t see them to gauge their beauty), for example. He had taught her to play the violin and complimented her more than once on her beauty, to which she had responded by blushing and saying that she doubted that she was all that pretty. That opinion remained true even now. Though she couldn’t see herself, she doubted she was pretty enough to inspire lust in men. She couldn’t be, could she? No, she couldn’t be. She was probably very plain and people were just trying to be nice. If anything upon her was pretty, it was her clothes - not her - and she had felt her clothes in their raw state; she doubted they looked very pretty at all. Nonetheless, she had blushed and gone along with the compliment, thanking him. He had romanced her and given her sweet companionship the likes of which she did not have on her home plane. It had been a fortnight before she had entered his tent with the flap closed for more than just talk.

But this man, this Raenthul, seemed to desire only her body. Perhaps he did not truly appreciate her company after all. His lecherous eyes had probably roamed all over her body before he had dared to touch her. His hands at her lower back, almost upon her bottom, made her angry. So she whirled about, ready to give Raenthul a talking-to that he would not soon forget. Then he mentioned her being larger and she snorted derisively.

“Is that your excuse, then?” she inquired of him indignantly. “I feel fine, thank you very much.”

Actually, her fingers did seem to itch more than usual. She wasn’t quite sure why, for she had not yet noticed that her nails were quite a bit longer than she was used to. Her clothes did seem to have shifted again, yet she attributed that more to the wind than to any kind of magic. She did note to herself, after adjusting her dress once more, that she needed to cut her nails when she got back to her room at the inn. Other than that, she wasn’t noticing much. She most certainly noticed Raenthul digging into her shoulder, though.

“Please let go of my shoulder,” she said to him, trying to hold her irritation back. “I am not a scratching post, even if you are a cat.”

She had no idea, of course, just how true those words were.

Raenthul felt a momentary reprieve and managed to respond before the next change hit him. He couldn't fathom what the woman was thinking at first and then he started realizing what she was getting at. Regaining his calm a bit he decided to clarify the error, "Miss Erin I am not implying or tryinvg anything you are litteraly growing larger at least four times larger thab you normal size. If I let go I am going to hit the ground from a good distance and as I said I am something else now, which seems to include cat in it oddly enough. I am not able to float myself and I know hitting the ground hurts.. He managed to pull himself over herf shoulder and noticed her hands were scaled claws. He tried to tell her this, but his next change started happening causing him to start shrinking down making his voice weaker and weaker. "Umm I think you ..... ughh not again ....you grew cla...."

Still as he shrank he tried to climb towards her ear. Each moment getting smaller as she was probably getting bigger it probably was hard for her to even feel him through her clothes once he reached tiny size. Being palm sized for a normal person mad him almost less then A nat for this bigger person. It took him quite some time to clim up the folds ov her clothes and then finding the right moment where he could assend toward her ear. He probably had to scramble despreately a few times if she scratched or swated her neck as he climbed. Then again he had to get her to hear him if was going to figure out how to fix this mess.

The oddest thing was despite his earlier denial of attraction this new body found the thought of normal Erin attractive. So he found that an odd thought as he climbed and something to ponder during the hike up her clothes. Was this how others felt when they saw the cute or pretty girl... very odd. Still the events around both of their changes prevented him from really being able to learn about this as the situation made everything too weird.

She probably felt him again when he finally reached her ear and was able to pull himself over the lobe and settle in near the ear hole best he could. He had to grip pretty hard to holld on, but was probably the bite of a nat to her. Then. Again his long hair and flufy tail may cause a small itch too. Yelling "Don't squish me this is Raenthul I shrunk to a very tiny size and you are still growing and have claws"
