| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Raina watched Ollie retreat and stared at the fly dragon for a moment. She found that very odd, if it had just been her she may have snuck after him to see what was actually going on but Pess was around as well. “Oh…. Okay.” Something was definitely up with him but Raina really had no choice but to let him go. As he left she turned back to Pess and the deer. Blood was everywhere but Raina didn’t really mind. She’d have to wash all her clothes after this least someone get the wrong idea if they saw her. “Ew, Pess,” Raina made a face, “That sounds gross.” Raina knelt next to the deer and pulled out a small knife** and sawed through the flesh of the deer’s belly. She was up to her elbows pulling out the innards. She shoved them to the side and then moved to the deer’s head. “I just need you to cut off the legs Pess. And then maybe start a fire?” She went back to work cutting the skin from around the neck. She pulled back the skin and slowly worked her way down the rest of the body. When the skin was off she folded it and left it by her pack where it would be dry. Then she cut off chunks of meat. It was a long process. By the end she was tired and she handed Pess the strips of meat she had gathered before she flopped down on the ground and leaned her head back. “It takes a lot longer without my father’s help.” **Only for skinning purposes of this topic. Ollie stalked toward the woods, steps quick and urgent. As soon as the blood from the deer they began cutting into began to fade along with the heartbeats of the two people, he sprinted, and Ollie sprinting wasn't a simple run across the ground. His form was barely discernible, barely a blur in the darkness. By the time the eye registered him, he'd already past, steering his senses and his instinctive hunger away from the easy prey behind him toward the smaller ones before him. A groundhog, waddling through the nighttime forest toward his den, found itself swept upward from the ground with a surprised squeak. Its frightened wriggling didn't last long, and it found itself falling calm and limp in the grip that held it. This stage didn't last long, either, as Ollie's fangs piecred through its thick fur and loose skin, striking through the carotid artery and sucking up the blood now pumping freely into his mouth. His vampire nature reveled in the warmth and fullness spreading through him, and by the time the groundhog laid limp and cooling in his hands, it slept, happy and sated. Ollie focused on breathing as he wiped any spare blood from his mouth with a handkerchief. Alright, he was full. He didn't need much after his weekly sacrifice, so he should be fine now. He considered bringing the groundhog with him back to the others, but they weren't exactly high on the list of culinary delights, and they had a whole deer to dispatch between them. He let the groundhog dropped. The forest was full of animals who'd be pleased with the bounty. He turned and headed back to camp, sprinting through the woods until he caught the sounds and scents of their kill again. "I'm back," Ollie said, waving a hand as he approached. The scent of blood was still intoxicating, but he could control himself now. He was in command of his hunger. He looked over Raina's work. Pessach mostly aided her, likely unused to the idea of butchering. "Nice work," he said, reaching into a pocket and crafting a cigarette from dried tobacco and paper. "Looks like you need a bit more practice doing it on the field, but you're ahead of the game just knowing how it's done." He lit a match and lit his cigarette. It helped block the scent of the blood and helped him focus. He might be in control, but he wanted to cement that with any meditation technique he had. "So, you two," he said. "I supposed we should get this venison off the ground and build a fire to cook it. Want to help gather some firewood, Pessach?" |

((OoC: Taking Creative License in order to close the topic)) Raina relaxed as she watch the two guys get the firewood. She stretched out her long legs and thought that perhaps this was the best idea she'd ever had. She wanted to leave and she had done it. The world wasn't as big and scary as she had first feared it to be. Once they returned the three of them built up a fire and let the flames cook the meat Raina had provided for them. She took some for her travels and let the others help themselves to it as well. The meat was fresh, the company was interesting and the night was warm. She wasn't pressured into telling her story and she knew enough to let the others tel their own tales with no pressure. Raina unrolled her small sleeping bag and curled up inside it. Sleeping lightly and yet more deeply than she had in awhile. She felt comfortable with these two men, although the reason behind it she couldn't quite say. Morning dawned bright and clear but the smell of rain was apparent in the air. Raina rolled up her bag and repacked her things. She was still on her way... somewhere even if she didn't know where. She gave Ollie a quick hug goodbye and did the same to Pessach. She hoped that down the line she would run into them again. She hoped that everyone she met would be as nice to her as those two were. She knew better than to trust any stranger on the road but she felt more hopeful after having met those two. A ways down the road she turned and waved at them one last time, hoping they would be in her life again. ---End--- |
