Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

The hooded figure moved through the shadows of the ruined city with an easy grace. She had never been to this part of Imythess before. Sure she had heard of these ancient ruins, and many rumors that went along with it. But to her they were just that, rumors and nothing more.

The stories of ghosts and necromancers kept many regular travelers away from this place. Which is why it was the perfect hide out of her quarry. She had gotten word that there was a powerful bandit group that made this place their home. It was not long before she had gotten herself hired to eliminate the threat.

Just a couple months ago, she would have never even considered taking such a job. But since her last, painful, trip back home the young elf had vastly improved her skills. A trip to the deserts of Istan and a war in the frozen tundra of the Northern lands would do that to someone. Not only had her skills improved, but so had her gear. She now carried a quiver that never emptied, two powerful and unique bows, armor that muffled her sounds and a hood that would disguise her features from anyone. All things that helped make her into what she was now.

The elf maiden Mistalee, had grown to become a bounty hunter of no small skill. She had also taken great care to make sure no one knew that she was the Black Arrow. She doubted anyone was even away of her elven heritage thanks to the hood she wore. No one who saw her could recall any important data about her. All adding the mystery of the Black Arrow.

Now with great skill and confidence she took upon this job. But she also knew she had to be careful. Her prey vastly outnumbered her, and if she was not careful she could easily be overwhelmed. That is why she moved with caution and she would wait for the right moment to strike.

"I do not like your plan, boy."

Simon sighed and ran a hand through his hair in exasperation, staring at his partner with an annoyed expression. He was barely old enough to be considered an adult and still had an incredibly youthful face. Despite his appearance, he was an incredibly skilled archer that had been a member of the Crimson Company mercenaries for over half a year now. He fought with a massive greatbow constructed of yew and bone that was almost as tall as he was and could launch an arrow an incredible distance. He was the son of a simple farmer who was so deep in debt that they were on the verge of losing their land and livestock, and so Simon had become a sellsword to keep his parents and younger siblings from becoming homeless beggars. "This is the only way to do it, Draudiga. Anything else would be suicide."

His companion shook her head from side to side in a jerky motion. Her skin was as dark as teak, a sharp contrast to her light grey eyes and bone white hair. If her appearance was not enough to mark her as a foreigner to Imythess, her thick accent confirmed it. "Come, let us smoke them out. A girl is confident." She had been born and raised in Suler, one of the southern-most continents in Chaon that was incredibly different in every way. She wore a pair of gauntlets and greaves that had been forged out of pale, interlocking scales that were both strong enough to turn blades yet flexible enough to allow her to move freely. She wore a pair of baggy, black leggings and a sleeveless and hooded gray tunic.

Simon glowered at her. "You're always confident. Some people might actually call you suicidally confident."

Draudiga San scoffed and turned to glare at the broken structures that were perched atop the foothills of the Gwilkith Mountains. She wasn't sure what early culture had constructed this metropolis, but over the ages it had fallen into ruin. All of the wood and softer materials had long ago rotted away so that only the buildings that were made of solid stonework remained. Even those that had persisted over the years had begun to crumble, giving the entire area a dilapidated appearance. Their quarry was hidden somewhere in the maze of broken walls and buildings, a group of occultists that had been responsible for several disappearances in the surrounding region. It had gotten to the point that the local villages banded together so they could gather enough information to pay for the Company to send a pair of mercenaries to sort out the situation. "They can not stand against Draudiga San."

The youth sighed heavily. This was clearly not a new argument, and for a moment they stood there in uneasy silence. As they waited the sky above them began to darken, clouds obscuring the bright sunlight of only moments before. Thunder rumbled overhead, causing Simon to glance up sharply. He stared at the obscuring clouds for a hearbeat before glaring at Draudiga. "I take it that means you will be ignoring my advice, then?"

She flashed a broad, expectant smile of him. "Of course." Her eyes seemed slightly brighter than only a few seconds before, possessing a metallic silver gleam. "Your plan is boring, yes? A girl has much better strategy." Draudiga firmly wrapped her fingers around the hilt of the weapons sheathed on her hips. They were gleaming golden punch-daggers slightly over a foot long, specifically designed in the labs of Suler to be incredibly well-balanced and completely unbreakable. With a decidedly predatory stalk she started into the outskirts of the broken city, reluctantly followed by her young partner.

The elf paused and crouched down, her gloomwood armor helping silence her movements. She concentrated as she listened to voices near by. One belonged to a male, from what she could tell he was young. The other one a female voice with a thick accent, something told her that she recognized the voice but she could not place a finger on it right now. But this told her one thing, she was not alone.

Mistalee moved forward even more cautiously than before. She did not know who these voices belonged to. Where they friend or foe? For now it was best to assume they were an enemy until she found out otherwise. She kept to the darkest shadows she could, and let them blanket her and completely cover her form.

The bounty hunter had recently begun to learn how to make the night like a second skin to her. She could now remain almost completely unseen in shadows until she wanted to be seen. The dark shadows also no longer hindered her sight and she could see almost as clearly as she could in daylight.

Silently she gripped her bladed-bow and moved through the ruins of the city. She moved to intercept the two she had heard. She had to find out who they were and why they were here. If they were part of her prey...well they would receive an arrow between the eyes before they even knew she was there.

Finally she got to a ledge where she could look down upon the two she had been stalking. A boy with a bow, but she could tell by the easy way he carried it he had good skills. The other one, she recognized immediately. Draudiga, a mercenary from the Crimson Company. The same woman who had captured her and dragged her back to her brother. But also the same woman who did not prevent her escape mere moments after the delivery.

Mistalee smirked. A part of her desired to show this woman who had so easily defeated her before, that she had honed her skills since last they met. And perhaps...they could join forces against the ones she hunted. It would decrease the risk substantially. But...she did not want to mention that to Draudiga just yet. No, she felt she could play with the woman for a bit. After all, she was unrecognizable while wearing her hood.

The elf vaulted herself off of her perch and landed with a cat like grace before the woman and her follower. She stood there with an easy stance, bow in hand the moon behind her outlining her form.

"Mercenaries of Crimson Company in a place like this?" she asked. "Do tell me...what brings the mighty Draudiga to these ruins?"

As the Sulerian moved forward, she kept all of her sense on high alert for any movement nearby. Unlike most mortals, she possessed six senses that made it incredibly difficult to sneak up on her. Thanks to her air elemental ancestry, Draudiga was capable of sensing electricity within a certain distance. It was so perceptive that she could actually detect the impulses of energy that coursed through a living creature's nervous system, allowing her to sense them even through obstacles or around corners. It had proven extremely useful in a number of situations, and her recent experiences in the war against the White Queen had allowed her to refine her senses further. Now she caught a glimmer of electricity that could only belong to someone creeping through the ruins approaching from their right, clearly unaware that they had been detected.

Instead of revealing her knowledge of their stalker, the mercenary continued to act as if nothing was afoot, not even cluing Simon onto their pursuer. The occultists were not the only ones who dwelt in these ruins, and her superiors in the Company always got angry when she caused ancillary casualties. However, as they started to move it became clear that the unseen individual was actually following them. Draudiga's eyes flickered over the space where her electroreception indicated their stalker stood, but there was nothing there but shadows. A moment later an indistinct patch of darkness dislodged from the ledge, throwing itself down onto the ground in front of them. As it flew through the air the shadows bled off of its frame, revealing the shape of a slender woman who wore practical clothing and a large hood that hid her face entirely.

The Sulerian's response was almost immediate, snapping her arms into an unusual offensive stance with both fists held near her waist so the golden blades were crossed in front of her. She slid one foot back, ready to spring forward and engage this stranger. Simon was caught completely by surprise and sputtered incoherently before drawing a thick arrow from his quiver and notching it on his bowstring, but he did not pull it back yet. He knew from working with Draudiga that the Sulerian preferred to draw first blood on their assignments and would start to sulk if he took that privilege away from her.

The sellsword was a heartbeat away from pouncing on the stranger when she spoke, not only identifying them as members of the Crimson Company but greeting Draudiga by name. The dark-skinned woman frowned, tilting her head to one side and attempting to peer underneath the cowl to identify the speaker. It was a futile effort. For some reason, whenever she tried to focus on the woman's features her eyes grew blurry and she was forced to look away. It was an unpleasant sensation, and she suspected that some clever magic had been laid upon the fabric to obscure the wearer's identity. "Ah! It is good that others recognize my greatness!" She relaxed slightly, still ready to move at an instant's notice but no longer holding her blades ready to strike. "Draudiga San does not recall introductions being exchanged! Who are you?" The thunderclouds overhead rumbled at the end of the inquiry, punctuating her words quite ominously.

The quick reaction of the Sulerian caused Mistalee to smile beneath her mask. It was obvious that although she had remained hidden from the woman's sight, she had still somehow sensed the elf stalking them. There were many secrets this woman hide and it intrigued her.

Draudiga's follower on the other hand, was taken completely off guard. She heard the young man spit and sputter as he notched an arrow but stood waiting for his leader to make a move. The elf looked at him carefully. He was young, but seemed to be able to react under pressure. Anyone who traveled with the Sulerian woman had to.

Her emerald eyes moved back to Draudiga as she spoke. She considered telling her who she really was for a brief second, but decided against it. If she really wanted to keep her identity hidden, no one could know who she was.

"My name is not important," she replied. "But I guess I should give you something to call me by. You may called me Black Arrow. I am a bounty hunter and my mark is in this area. And before you ask, no it is not you or anyone from the Crimson Company. Pray tell me...who do you seek in these ruins? I do hope it is not me, I would hate to have to kill you."

She then glanced up to the gathering storm clouds. Last time Draudiga's skills of the elements had taken her off guards, but she was a novice back then. Now she was a master of both bow and blade and many skills up her sleeve. She would not be taken so easily again.

"There is no need for you to call upon the storms power," she said calmly. "I do not wish to fight you. Just to know whom you seek, perhaps our target is in fact the same?"

Draudiga lifted her eyebrows slightly when the stranger refused to introduce herself, giving a rather lofty moniker instead. She shifted her shoulders and glanced at Simon in a silent query, but the archer shrugged to indicate that he had never heard of the Black Arrow either. Still, there were only so many people that would recognize the Sulerian on sight. She had been active with the Crimson Company for months now, but most of the dangerous individuals she encountered were put down for good. A former bounty would probably be far less chatty and far more hostile, which eliminated the grand majority of the people with which she had interacted in Imythess.

"A girl is here to seek occultists in area. They are called Sons of... Sons of something." She scowled, waving a hand in the air. "Is not important. They will wear heavy cloaks and make speeches and sacrifices." She grinned wolfishly. "Hopefully they will put up more of fight than most."

"I swear, you're the only person I know crazy enough to hope things go wrong." Simon was still holding the arrow to the string of his greatbow, but he had lowered the weapon so the stave was resting on the ground, taking his lead from Draudiga. "The Company doesn't like outsourcing, Drau."

The dark-skinned woman pursed her lips, then shrugged. "If Bloody Ben disapproves, Bloody Ben can hunt occultists himself." She turned back to the stranger, nodding. "A girl accepts. Let us work together." She sheathed the katara in her right hand, holding her arm out for the 'Black Arrow' to shake. Although the storm above them did not abate, it did stop thundering, simply hanging there as a constant presence.

The elf waved her hand at Simon. "Don't think of it as outsourcing lad," she said. "I am almost completely certain our employers are different. Just think of it as a mutually beneficial partnership. We take out the cult, go our separate ways, and get out separate pay."

She talked as if she cared about the gold, but she really did not. The reason why she was after the cultists was because they harmed innocents. She would have hunted them down regardless of getting paid. The bounty hunter front just opened up more opportunities to go after such groups.

Emerald eyes turned to Draudiga. "They call themselves the Sons of Blood Moon. From what I have gathered each and everyone of them are Lunar Disciples. I don't know how many of them are masters, but at least their leader is. Unless you want you weapons anchored to the ground we will have to do this somewhat cautiously."

The elf paused for a moment thinking of a plan. Originally she had planned on just snipping them from the shadows and hope they did not detect her. But now with two others...

A smile spread under her black mask. "I think I have an idea that might play to all of our strengths. Draudiga, you are a powerful melee fighter who likes to be in the thick of things. Why don't you charge in ahead, draw the attention to yourself. While you distract them Simon and I can use our bows to pick them off."

The 'Black Arrow' provided not only the name of the cult, but also some information that they had not previously been aware of. Draudiga turned to Simon, frowning slightly. "Loon-are dis-eye-pal? What is this?" Her deliberate pronunciation made it clear that the Sulerian did not understand the words or their meaning.

The archer frowned slightly, watching the stranger calculatingly. "It's a type of pagan magician. Very powerful. They worship the moon and get some rather powerful abilities out of the bargain. They can manipulate gravity." He held up a hand before Draudiga could ask, mulling over the best way to explain what he meant. "They can.. make things heavier or lighter at will. So they could make a sword impossible to lift... or their own body so light they can fly. Things like that."

"Psh. Does not sound so difficult. Draudiga does not need sword to beat magic." The dark-skinned woman stretched her arms behind her back, locking her fingers together and stretching out the kinks in her muscles. "I like plan. Allows Draudiga to have largest amount of glory while wimpy archers hide in shadows. Like usual." Simon snorted at her words, but didn't seem offended by her opinion. He knew that the Sulerian wouldn't team up with him on a regular basis if she truly believed him to be that useless.

Draudiga looked up at the clouds overhead, her eyes narrowing. "Sarsarun, come." The storm overhead rumbled in response, lightning flickering in its depths. A moment later a section of the clouds separated from the main mass, floating down to street level. Its form shifted as it descended, changing from an amorphous blob of mist into a vaguely humanoid shape. Although its outline was still blurry and shifting, it maintained this form. Tendrils of electricity crackled through its limbs, with pinpricks of burning energy where its eyes would be. It opened its mouth and spoke in a quiet murmur that had no distinguishable words, sounding more like the wind at night.

The Sulerian smiled and nodded to the nebula spirit, eyes shining with mirth. The elemental was actually the reason for her connection with the elements, her great-great-great-great-great-ancestor. "A girl shall distract Sons of Blood Moon. You two hide." With that the woman started to stalk through the ruins once more, leaving Simon and the 'Black Arrow' to follow in her wake. Sarsarun floated above the mercenary like a miniature storm cloud, lightning silently sparking from its fingers.

The elf gave Draudiga a sidelong look as she boasted. "I know you are extremely skilled," she said. "But these people should not be underestimated. They can affect more than just your weapons and their own body. They can make your own body feel heavier or lighter throwing off your attacks. Be ready for anything."

As the dark skinned woman ran off, she looked to Simon and gave him a nod. "I don't think we should let her take all the glory," she said in playful tone.

Without waiting for him, she ran off. Instead of taking a straight forward charge, she instead went to the side a bit and climbed up a wall. The elf than began to run along the broke walls of the ruins, gaining more height as she moved along. As she moved she kept an eye on her allies as best as she could.

It was not long until she saw the glow of several camp fires from her vantage point. She felt there was no need to tell her allies of the discovery, they would figure it out on their own quickly enough. Thanks to some of her shadow dancer training she was able to see through the darkness with ease and could begin to make out some of the forms around the fires. It was their prey.

With the quarry in sight she began to get herself into place. She found a shadowy perch over looking the camp and crouched down. Shadows enveloped her and hide her form perfectly. Now she just needed to wait for Draudiga to provide the distraction.

Mistalee knew that she would need to pick her targets carefully and quickly to aid the Sulerian. Even with as powerful as the woman was, she did not know she if she could handle the entire cult by herself. Especially when she knew a few of them were master level...

Simon watched the pair of them run off, obviously eager for a fight, and sighed in a world-weary manner. "Why do I always agree to go on her assignments?" The teenage chewed on his lower lip for a few seconds before following, absentmindedly drawing an arrow from his quiver as he did so and setting it to the string of his greatbow. Draudiga might not be worried about the abilities of the cultists, but she had never had very much respect for magic. Simon had much more experience dealing with those who wielded arcane forces and had a healthy amount of respect for their abilities... Not to mention a small amount of fear. If the 'Black Arrow' was correct and the Sons of the Blood Moon were all Lunar Disciples, they could be in for a nasty confrontation.

Draudiga shared none of his concerns and walked through the ruined streets as if she had nary a care in the world. The nebula elemental kept watch from above, speaking in soft whispers and revealing what it saw above rooftops and around corners. It didn't take long for Sarsarun to locate the glow of campfires and point her in the right direction. The Sulerian hurried towards the camp, only slowing down when she was around the corner from the encampment. She frowned, closing her eyes to focus on her sense of the electrical impulses in the area. She could sense at least two dozen presences nearby, which suggested they had quite a bit of work to do if they wanted to completely wipe out the cultists.

The sky above rumbled with thunder and rain began to fall, the moisture hissing where it came into contact with the campfires. Several of the cultists glared at the sky and muttered complains underneath their breath about the inclement weather, pulling up hoods and cowls to keep dry during the storm. Distracted as they were, they didn't notice an intruder among them until it was too late. Draudiga came blazing out of the darkness with an ululating war cry, brandishing her dual kataras in a flash of golden metal. The nearest cultist fell backwards, his throat cut open so deeply that his spine was visible. The Sulerian dashed away as quickly as she had appeared, throwing herself out of sight before any of the magicians could target her with their supernatural abilities.

Draudiga rushed in and killed one of the cultist before any of them could react, and was gone just as quickly. But the elf doubted she would be able to take them by such surprise again. It was then that her fears were confirmed.

Every single cultist suddenly had white flames burst around them, their lunar corona. Even the most unskilled Lunar Disciple could put up a corona. The more powerful ones could use it as a defense and a weapon. The next second all light when out. Mistalee was able to see through this darkness, but she did not know if this blinded both Draudiga and Simon.

She had to help thin the ranks before they were able to gather their powers and render the dark shinned woman helpless. The elf lifted her bow and release two arrows into the ranks. They exploded upon impact, causing several of the disciples to go flying. A few did not get back up.

In the darkness she also saw several of the disciples rise up into the air. This made the elf smirk a bit, they just helped her determine who were of the higher ranks. Now all she needed to do was figure out which of them were master levels before they made gravity go crazy.

Draudiga caught a glimpse of bright, white fire that flickered into existence as she ducked back behind one of the crumbling walls and scowled. Thanks to the warning from the Black Arrow she had anticipated some arcane opposition, but their immediate reaction was worrisome. That meant that possessed some skill and were prepared to defend themselves. The Sulerian quickly ran along several of the cramped streets so that she could approach the group of enemies from an unexpected angle. She was about to run out into the encampment once more when all the ambient light in the area disappeared, leaving it completely dark. The girl frowned and laid one hand on the wall, running her fingers along the brickwork and blindly feeling her way to the corner. Her extra senses were wonderful for locating living creatures, but they were completely useless when it came to inanimate objects.

The mercenary crouched next to the wall, gathering her thoughts for a moment. She didn't know if the strange archer would still be useful in these conditions, but Simon would be almost completely useless. She would need a flawless strategy to take out this many foes on her lonesome. A few seconds later she sprinted out of cover once more, dashing towards the nearest cluster of electrical impulses. It was difficult to tell what direction her target was facing, but at the speed she was moving it almost didn't matter. Draudiga slammed into his back with bone-breaking force, stabbing both kataras all the way through his chest cavity. He died with a pained gurgle, and Draudiga swung the corpse around to throw it at his nearest comrade. That cultist went down under the body, but that still left plenty of enemies to face.

Draudiga was about to spring forward when the weight of the katara in her right hand changed abruptly. It increased exponentially, literally ripping the grip of the blade out of her fingers. It struck the ground with a metallic clatter, effectively cutting the woman's offensive potential in half. With a grimace she tumbled to one side, leaving the fallen blade where it lay and attempting to get out of the magician's sights. "Sarsarun!" The nebula elemental literally glowed in her electrosensory perception of her surroundings. The puffy figure was floating a dozen feet above a trio of cultists, silent and waiting for her command. The being nodded and pointed at the cluster with both hands, its figure glowing brighter as more tendrils of lightning sparked in its depths.

There was a cacophonous retort from overhead. A moment later all the rainfall from the storm clouds stopped, with not even a light drizzle remaining. A moment later a column of water fell from the heavens, an almost obscene amount of liquid focused in a ten foot area. It struck the trio of cultists with so much force that it knocked them to the ground, bodily pressing them against the cobblestones. They wouldn't drown, but it would keep them out of the fight for a little while.

By the fact that Draudiga was moving more cautiously and that Simon had stopped firing his bow, the elf knew that her allies could not see in this darkness. Drau at least seemed to get some sense of the area. But she knew all too well how useless a blind archer was. Unless they could bring light back into the area the young man would be out of the fight.

Thankfully the darkness did not inhibit Mistalee. In fact, it could aid her. So long as she remained still she was next to impossible to find. She just hoped that her flying arrows would not give away her location.

Now it was time to help her blind ally by disabling their enemies. She shot one arrow at a group floating in the air. Due to the messed up gravity in the area her strike was not fatal, but it still hit on of the cultist in the leg. That was all she needed. Upon impact the arrow released an anti magic field ten feet around it. With all magic in that area cancelled, three cultist abruptly fell out of the sky with a scream.

Unfortunately the cancellation of magic did not bring back any light. It appeared that the darkness itself was not magical in nature. This was just something they would have to work around.

Even though she had only released a handful off arrows, she apparently had become more than a small nuisance.

"Find the archer!" one cultist barked.

The ranks then split. Half of them went to find her, while the rest we focused on fighting Draudiga. They would need to find and kill their leader before they started to pull out the big guns. She knew that they had just barely seen what these Lunar Disciples could do, but they had just barely seen what she could do as well.

Draudiga slammed the palm of her empty hand into the chest of one of the cultists, sending a surge of electricity out through her palm as it made contact. She could normally only produce enough power to stun someone, but thanks to the woman's damp clothes the energy was conducted much more efficiently. There was a flash of light and the scent of burnt flesh filled the air as the lunar disciple was thrown back, her limbs and digits twitching from spasms. The Sulerian immediately moved to one side, leaping ten whole feet through the air to make herself a harder target. A moment later the circular area surrounding the shocked cultist changed. Gravity increased exponentially within a circular area, crushing the dilapidated architecture into dust and smashing the downed woman into the earth with bone-breaking force.

The mercenary scowled in frustration. She had absolutely no idea who was responsible for the powerful attack and didn't know how she could find out before they were unable to unleash their powers once more. With her vision clear she would have no problem, but electroreception was not clear enough for her to locate the most powerful cultists. She would simply have to continue picking off one at a time. Draudiga charged at the next cluster of electrical impulses, slashing her katara in a lightning-fast combination. She was surprised to feel the golden blade rebound off a metallic weapon as each and every one of her attacks was parried.

The darkness was not magical in nature, which thankfully meant that she could see the outline of the weapon her opponent held. It was a long-hafted axe with an unusually shaped blade, concave and curved like a crescent moon. The disciple was clearly well-versed in its use as he surged forward, forgoing magic and attacking with melee alone. Draudiga found herself pushed back, unable to properly defend herself with a single blade and impaired vision. She stumbled back from the assault, growling deep in her throat and jumping out of the range of the axe. As soon as she had he brought up his right hand, flicking his fingers at her punch dagger. Its weight increased exponentially in the blonk of an eye, tearing it our of her grip and slamming it point-first into the ground.

The Sulerian tore the shortsword off of her back and wrapped both hands around its hilt, murderous intent in her eyes as she threw herself at the man and screaming an incoherent challenge.

Drau had lost one of her weapons to the powers of the Lunar Disciples. This could also easily happen to herself and her precious bow. She did have a back up bow if need be...but she would prefer to keep her hands on this one. The cultist were now looking for her and had begun to hone in on her location, which meant it was time to move.

The elf stopped firing and used the darkness to quickly and quietly moved to a new location. They were vastly out numbered. This was not going to be something they would win on strength alone. While that might work for Draudiga, it was not a tactic that worked well for Mistalee.

With a new hiding spot found she let the shadows engulf her. Now it was time for her to simply watch and observe for a few moments. With the group divided between herself and her ally on the ground now she simply had to look for someone *not* attacking them. Then she spotted him.

One man floated above the battle field, barking a few orders. That was the target. She pulled out one of her arrows and notched it. She let it go flying. Unfortunately the gravity around her target had been altered, and it did not strike her target. But she had anticipated this. As the arrow neared the leader, it exploded into a large ball of fire.

While it did not kill him, it did singe him and cause him to cry out in pain. "That is the leader!" she called her allies. "Kill him and the rest will fall with ease!"
