Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Kalyanee stood in front of the once-opulent doors of the cathedral that now stood crooked and rotted. A smile lingered on her lips as she traced a thin finger along a large gash in on of the double doors, her skin tingling at the sensation. She had heard the mortals here talk of lore of sacred places and their ability to provide a refuge from the damned and the dead. Kaly let out a small chuckle and stepped through the large gap between the doors, into the ancient cathedral that now stood in ruins.

A shiver ran down Kaly's back as she moved forward. While it was true that she could treat sacred buildings as she could any other building, she was still prone to the chills that her petty being pushed on to her as her mortal subconscious worried about all the tales of demonic creatures erupting into flames upon entering a similar structure. She ignored these chills and persisted, making her way purposefully to the altar near the front of the large room she soon found herself inside.

She was still on the improbable mission of returning herself to her former glory as quickly as possible, though finding people with information on Rashaktahs was few and far between. She came here on a glint of a hint of a hope that she had squeezed out of a man in Balefire, and was hoping to be able to finally find an artifact of which she was in need. Though, because she didn't even know what it was, the problem seemed less than likely to work itself out.

Zelothtith was standing in a dark back corner of the cathedral. He had been here for some time now looking for fragments of power. He had also been training himself so he could avoid the annoyance of having to regenerate this human shell. Being defeated by lesser beings had driven him crazy for far too long now. At the very least his sword had regained some power and he could now swing it properly in the pathetic body he inhabited.

Yet another flaw of this body was that it would get tired far too quickly, so he was now resting in the corner well hidden. He was just about ready to get up when he heard someone entering the building. He froze waiting to see who it was and hopping it was a tasty little human he could have for a snack. He soon saw that it wasn’t a human snack, but was certainly no disappointment. It seemed to be a fellow demonic creature. She was certainly a pleasant sight to look at. He used to have servants that looked with bodies like her’s, but he had lost those servants trying to regain his power. However, this one looked like she might be hiding more power than his old lowly servants. He didn’t feel any particularly strong demonic aura though, so he wasn’t quite sure.

He decided the best thing to do was just find out what she wanted here. Maybe he could take some advantage of it or in the worst case he could betray her and drink of her blood. The blood of a true devil or fiend would be worth quite a bit towards restoring his own power. It would certainly be an interesting diversion at least.

He walked out of his shadowy corner his large black steel demonic sword (OOC: his cutter) was held on his back. Pretending to be a little entranced with her beauty he gave a pleased looking smile and clearly admiring look at her body. Then he spoke, “Well now this is certainly and unexpected encounter. What brings such a one as yourself to these dusty old halls? Not that I am complaining mind you.” Even though he was pretending to be entranced by her beauty he still kept a wary eye on her movements. After all he if she didn’t look closely she could mistake him for a filthy human and decide to dispose of him rather than talk.
