Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

There couldn’t have been a nicer evening than this one. It was warm, but there was a cool breeze that kept the temperature comfortable. There seemed to be a bit of moisture in the air, but Lyvian didn’t notice. The northern dragon eyes that were recently grafted into her body stopped her from seeing the heavy fog in the cemetery.

Despite the gloomy location, Lyvian was in a very good mood. There was an old tale of a magical ribbon that she had heard a few days ago, and she wanted to see if she could find it. If she could, then she’d be able to close deadly wounds much faster and more efficiently. She didn’t have that much practice just yet with deadly wounds, so this legendary ribbon would accelerate her abilities with ease.

One step inside the cemetery gates, and she could already feel a sense of unrest here. It didn’t bother her because she expected that there would be a high level of unrest in a cemetery. There were always spirits that had unfinished business, no matter which cemetery you entered. It was that feeling that something was watching her that told her there were a few spirits that needed assistance with being able to truly rest. The spirits would be floating around for an eternity until somebody helped them come to peace.

It was also that feeling that something was watching her that told her somebody else was here. She could hear rustling in the bushes that surrounded the cemetery, and shadows moved in the corners of her eyes. She was already in the middle of the cemetery, so there was no turning back now. Her nerves began to shake as the movements became more and more noticeable.

Romma and Arjun, her faithful falcons, were flying overhead, watching everything that was happening from the sky. Lyvian stopped moving for a moment and leaned against one of the monuments as she closed her eyes and shared sight with Arjun so that she could see exactly what it was that was here. As soon as she could see through Arjun’s eyes, she could see that the creatures here were wild dire wolves. She wasn’t sure if they were attracted to her because she was part wolf, or if they wanted to kill her because she was part wolf, or if her blood had anything to do with their reasoning.

She opened her eyes again to see one of them standing right in front of her. She screamed in surprise, and jumped out of the way just in time to avoid having the wolf’s teeth dig into her throat. She used her wings to propel herself as she ran away and tried to find the mausoleum so that she could hide inside there.

However, the wolves were faster. She just got the mausoleum into her line of sight as one of the wolves tackled her from the side, causing her to collapse under the body of the dire wolf. It only pinned her to the ground though, as if it was following a master’s orders.

The other wolves slowly crept up to them and created a circle. One in particular was larger than the others... and could speak...

“You there!” its voice was very raspy and broken, as if something had tried removing his vocal chords. Somehow, it was still understandable though. The voice was deep, and sounded very threatening. “What brings a hybrid healer to my graveyard?”

The dire wolf that had her pinned was also stopping her from grabbing her wand, so she had no ability to cast any protective spells. All she could do was hope that her falcons knew to get help as quickly as they could. Preferably before her blood was spilled.

She cleared her throat, and did her best to explain her presence. She would have to try to talk her way out of this because she didn’t want to shapeshift into her wolf form if she didn’t have to. They would definitely want to kill her if she did that, and she wanted to prevent that from happening if possible. The pack only seemed to get more upset with her though, and the circle slowly became smaller, trapping her.
