| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

OOC Notes I opened my eyes and quickly jerked my body. Pushing myself up to the top of the bed I was in. Where am I? My arms ... last night they were ... Quickly I pulled my arms out - they were covered in leaves and some type of healing ointment - or so it seemed. I thought about taking a peek of what they looked liked under the leaves, but I was scared to see the real damage. The door in front of me creaked open slowly, a young blonde elven boy entered. He was only just a couple years older than I was ... or wait ... maybe not. Elven folk looked youthful their entire life ... right? He smiled at me, "I am happy to see that you are awake. I did the best I could - my parents are not here. They are the ones that will be able to help you the most with your wounds." I smiled in return, "Thank you for what you have done so far. This is much better than what I could of done." He walked over and put a bowl of what appeared to be soup next to me with a substantial piece of bread. "You're welcome. When I found you ... you seemed to be not entirely yourself. You appear much better now." Whatever it was that he had given me, it made me sleep dreamless. How was that possible?I should of woken up to another nightmare, but I didn't. I sighed of relief inside my mind, I thought to myself. I leaned over to grab the bowl of soup - I didn't realize how hungry I was until I start ravishing the soup like an animal. I looked up and smiled with my mouth close and half full of food. The young man before me laughed and smiled. I am sure my cheeks appeared to look like a chipmunk. I waited until my mouth was empty, "So, what was your name? How did you get me back here?" He sat down in the chair next to the bed and threw one leg up over the other, "Well, my name is Calanon. I just carried you back here, I was surprised to find that my family wasn't here. I will need to leave soon to go find out where they are." I swallowed my soup and took a bite of the bread before responding, "My name is Kailan. Again, I appreciate what you have done for me here. Maybe I could go with you ..." Calanon began to check the wraps on my arms while I spoke, "... while you find out what happened to your parents and I could gather up some supplies before I take off." Calanon nodded at me, "I will leave you to finish up your soup and then we can go." With that he got up out of the chair and left the room. I quickly finished my soup and bread, jumping out of bed I put my boots on. I was ready. Grabbing my bowl I went to the door and opened it. Calanon waved me over and took the bowl from me. He then walked over to the front door and opened it. We left and headed to the townsquare, or at least that it what I called it. Edited by Kailan, Wed Aug 29, 2012 12:09 am.

I watched as Calanon walked out amongst the other elves within the small town. They tilted their head in acknowledgement, this meant he must had been someone important or at least respected. Who was this, Calanon? I quickened my pace to catch up with him, I had to walk faster to keep up with him since he was much taller. I succeeded. "Calanon, I just want to thank you again for what you did for me." He glanced out of the corner of his eyes down at me, and then looked straight ahead. "You’re very welcome. It wouldn’t have been right of me to just leave you there in your condition." "Is there anything I can do to repay you for your actions?" I questioned. He paused in his stride and turned towards me, "Well, actually if you are feeling up to it," as he took my arms into his hands and lifted up the leaves that were banded on and inspected them. He put my arms back down. "You could always come with me. There is a woman here in town who just arrived yesterday. She was bringing supplies, but her caravan was ambushed by Goblins and almost all of the supplies were taken." "Oh, was she alone? I asked. "No Kailan, she wasn’t. Her travelling comrades didn’t make it back with her. They are either dead, or held hostage. No one really knows as of this moment." I rubbed my arms, they seemed to feel fine. As the banded leaves began to fall off I saw that the scratches and bruises were completely gone. Clearly, an expression of surprise was on my face. Calanon smiled at me. His smile was always warm, but there was something in his eyes that I couldn’t place my finger on. What was it? "If you would like to join me, I would gladly accept your help and perhaps I could teach you a thing or two while we get our supplies back." I finished brushes the dried leaves off of my skin, "Yes, I will join you." With that we began to walk again, making our way through the town. It was rather beautiful here. There were vines with flowers growing on them in every color imaginable, covering all buildings. It was absolutely breath-taking. "Are you going to need anything?" Colanon asked. "No, I have everything I own and can afford. I responded. He shook his head and pointed towards the entrance to the town. "Come on, this is where we leave and begin our hunt." |

Calanon paused in his tracks and looked back at me, "Seriously? All you have is that dagger?" I suddenly felt inadequate, but I had left with only my personal belongings that were on me. Of course, I did steal my brothers dagger. "Well, Yes. It is all that I have." I said with an uneasy voice. Calanon began to fumble through his pack that he had brought with him. He pulled out two objects and gave them to me. A small round flat plate, and small piece of paper rolled into a miniature scroll and tied with a red ribbon. The plate was exceptionally light in weight, but appeared to be more dense and heavy. It had a rustic golden tint to it with a slight glimmer and lots of confusing symbols on it. The scroll was nothing ordinary, as I opened it the red ribbon fell and the scroll and both vanished into thin air as a red mist encompassed my hand. I looked up at Colanon in disbelief. "I have given you, your first two magical abilities. I am more than willing to share my knowledge with those who only seek it. I can tell your mind is thirsty." He smiled and the last words left his lips. "Now, the two things I gave you. The circular Rune I gave you is called a Snaring Rune. You place it on any flat surface. When an enemy makes contact with the rune is extremely slowed for as long as they are contacting it. However it won't last long." Colonon placed the Rune into my pack. It sounded like an interesting enough object to keep. "Thank you." I responded. He placed his hand on my shoulder and my face flushed, he was incredibly good-looking. Hopefully my face didn't obviously express my emotions. He smiled softly at me, I assumed he knew. "Kailan, the other thing I gave you, that scroll. You now have the ability to heal wounds. Nothing that is life threatening, but you can heal small cuts and scrapes. All you need to do it place your hand onto the area of the wound push with your hand lightly, you must wait until your hand begins to glow that same red color you saw before. After a few moments their wound will be healed." I looked at my hand, it seemed normal. The red mist had vanished and nothing felt different about my hand. I wondered if I would get an opportunity to use these abilities today if we could find the goblins. I smiled with excitement. "Really, Calanon. Thank you so much!! I am ready when you are!" I began to walk out of the city and onto the dirt path, my new friend stayed with my stride. |
