Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

In this plot of land, use to be a city. By the looks of the ruble, it was a pretty great civilization, but now it is so old even Imythess has forgotten who once roamed this land. Now all it is a mound of twisted metal and broken rock. Every now and then you’ll see something move from the corner of your eye, some people say it is the people who once lived in this city still haunting on. Others just blame it on imagination.

The demon – Kronosk Alabar arrived on the ruins, some of the structures were still very much intake, they stood high above the demon’s head. Who ever once lived here were great people and whatever killed them was strong, it had to be a great army or maybe even a pelage.

Kronosk had come to this place for one reason: his father. He had once read in his father’s journal that he arrived to great ruins and left behind a dagger so one day his kin could retrieve it. So that’s what Kronosk was going to do, the dagger was of little importance to the demon, he was never the one to use blades, however what was important was retrieving all of the item’s his father left in Imythess.

Apparently the dagger had some kind of enchantment, the tip was always poisoned with a very potent chemical, and it was used for assassinations and such. The dagger was supposed to be located in the town’s cathedral, which is located dead center of the town.

Kronosk arrived at the giant church; the structure seemed to reach up to heaven itself. The demon hated going into places like this, anything holy just seemed to burn. It would really suck to be a vampire.

The demon entered the cathedral through the giant doors in the front. The doors creaked in a sort of eerie way. The creaking broke the silence of the ruins.

The inside of the cathedral was massive but destroyed. The painted glass that once let the light shine through the windows was now broken and in pieces on the ground. The wooden pews were torn apart and blood stained and in the middle of the massive structure was a large pool of fresh blood and in the middle of the blood was a corpse.

Kronosk walked up to the corpse, he bent down, its face was half burnt and had several huge gashes. Its chest had a broken arrow sticking out of it, and its neck was sliced open, that’s where most of the blood came from.
Kronosk reached down and touched the corpse, that’s when he noticed something…the body was still warm…

”Who’s there?!” He yelled as he instantly got the feeling that he was not the only one in the cathedral.

Niki stood, hidden in the shadows. She had just finished whipping her sword clean after killing a guy who had tried to sneak up on her when she heard someone else coming. Quickly, Niki looked around. What she saw was not that surprising. A Demon-looking creature. He had a cloak on, so she couldn't be a hundred percent sure of what he was.

Within a moment of the voice speaking, Niki pulled out her axe. "This'll be fun..." She whispered to herself. Slowly, Niki walked, keeping her heels off the floor as much as possible, to a spot in the cathedral that voice would carry the farthest. "Who wants to know?" As she spoke, Niki heard her voice echo off of the walls, almost sounding as though it where coming from everywhere. She noted that, as the figure stood, his hood started to fall, revealing his horns. She threw out a wicked smile. Perhaps this demon was in search of a home? She thought to herself.

Niki slipped her heels off and attached them to the hip of her pants. Much easier to be sneaky when you aren't worrying about your heels clanking everywhere. Then, she slowly moved so that half of body was showing in the little light that the darkness of the outside let in. She still held that wicked smile, her axe in the hand in the light, her cloak falling onto the shoulder. She kept her sword on the other hip. Then, Mince went to stand where she had been, and growled. His growl also echoed off the wall. Her smile got bigger as she went back into the shadow, hoping that the demon hadn't seen to much. Then, she went to stand in the shadows of her voice-echo spot, still smiling.

Kronosk heard the voice; it echoed for a good while, he could tell it was female but a female what is the question. He saw her shadow, he could see only half of it but the half that he saw was holding an axe. The demon smiled, he pulled off the hood of his cloak, reveling the two little horns sticking out of his head.

”I don’t play games.” Kronosk’s own voice echoed off the walls, he followed up with a chuckle as he grabbed the body’s leg and began dragging it down between the two sections of pews. The body brought with it a long trail of dark red blood, smeared across the concrete.

”You know…when I go to kill someone, I ussualy don’t slice there neck.” Kronosk chuckled again as he dropped the body’s leg on the ground. He squatted down and looked closely at the deep gash on its neck. ”If your willing to kill someone, why not make sure they actually feel it?”

Niki chuckled to herself. This demon had a good since of humor about him. Niki watched as he dragged the body to another spot, a small smear of blood following him. She shook her head, thinking. "Who said anything about games? I was just asking your name..." Niki said. She was closer to the demon, but still kept her distance. She knew nothing about this figure, but hoped to learn. He obviously knew what he was talking about.

She stared at him for a moment before commenting on his next few words. "I guess I didn't feel like making the piece of trash feel the pain. He didn't deserve it anyways..." Niki continued to watch the Demon from a distance. She tilted her head to one side as she thought. Perhaps another guild member? Perhaps someone willing to join the guild? She thought about this as she listened to his next few words, still hiding in the shadows.

Kronosk was still squatted down next to the body, the women was still hidden in the shadows. It didn’t make much sense to the young demon, why hide yourself, unless she was scared, unless she just liked to make people sweat. ”Kronosk Alabar.” He said his name just loud enough for her to hear.

He chuckled and stood up; he began walking closer to where he thought the women would be. ”Doesn’t deserve pain? But deserves death. I’ve never thought about it that way. Really it didn’t make any sense, probably not even to her. He continued his walk, but kept his footsteps silent, it probably didn’t matter anyway, she was probably staring him down in the shadows but maybe, just maybe she had her back turned and he could sneak up on her.

”But now that you know my name, what’s yours? And more importantly what brings you here?”

Niki smiled. He had an interesting name. One that could make fear flew through those of the weak minded if said the right way. Niki was not of a weak mind, so she didn't fall to fear easily...

She floated about in the shadow's some more, until she saw that he stood up. As he started to walk towards Niki, her wolf started to growl. "Down, boy." She said. Niki flipped her hair, and stepped from the shadow.

As Kronosk walked closer, Mince started to growl more. He obviously didn't like the demon. Niki smiled. She may not like him, but he seemed like he be a good addition to the guild. He had the right attitude it seemed at least. Killing for the sake of killing. She wandered how well he'd get along with Chaos and Rimmon...Let alone the "creature" of Divschatten, Lynthaer. Niki had an odd encounter with him for their first encounter, but she didn't really plan on seeing him again. Then again, they where probably racing to the same place right now. The guild hall.

"I am Niki Iceblood, and I am here to collect a demon for my guild." She looked at Kronosk, and raised an eyebrow. At this point, it was obvious that she was talking about him. But looked him in the eye, standing on top of the stage, as he was on the ground. Her cloak seemed to bellow out behind her as she walked out from the shadow. She smiled down at him, and bent over. "You seem worthy of the guild. What would you say, Demon Kronosk?" She asked as Niki raised an eyebrow.

Sure, she was being blunt, but that was Niki. Very few time did she had her feelings. She smiled again, and let her sharpened teeth shine faintly in the light as the demon spoke.

A guild is a group of people who share a common interest, who want the same thing. Now the interesting thing about the idea is that every person is an individual and has individual desires. The women reveled herself and her name; she stood on top of the stage looking down at the young demon. Her name was Niki, she wore all black and it was quite obvious she was a demon of some kind.

Whose to say Kronosk could trust her? He had no reason to, a random strange women hanging out in ruins that probably hadn’t been touched in hundreds of years. Except for maybe the mice that scurried past his feet every so often.

”I seem worthy for your guild?” Kronosk spoke up to the women as he began walking closer to her, he could now look up and look directly in her eyes and he did. She showed her his gaze of red; he even smiled, showing those razor sharp teeth that had struck fear into many.

”Is your guild worthy of me? What makes you think, I would want to join such a thing?” Kronosk chuckled, he was playing a game, this women would not spill everything about the guild unless Kronosk snuck into her head. ”You see, it is an interesting idea but I don’t do good with the whole chain of command thing, taking orders just isn’t like me.”

Niki smiled. He was trying to get information. But, that was expected. She wouldn't play games, but instead would be up front as best she could. "My guild is one of death, and torture. We spread pain and blood shed whenever we choose to leave. You seem like the type that enjoys making people hurt. That is what we do." Niki wasn't being full on truthful. At a time, the guild had been feared. Now, it was nothing. If you knew the name you might laugh at it. Niki stood by it though. She spread pain and blood wherever she went, and tonight was no acceptation.

When he spoke of not being about to follow orders, Niki simple smiled a little different. "One can be taught, and the orders are simple. Easy to follow, seeing as we already them." Niki had a thought then. If Lynthaer, and Chaos where going to show up at the guild hall, that would mean that they would finally be able to decide who would run the guild. She smiled as the thought about the fight that might break out. "Currently, we are having a small change in hands for who will run the guild." She said.

Part of Niki thought that would help Kronosk decide to join. She needed rank, and the only to get it was to get people to join. So far, she had gotten just Rimmon. A notable thing, yes, but the demon child hadn't done anything yet to show she was part of the guild. Now neither had Niki, besides bring in Rimmon. Perhaps, if she got Kronosk to join, that would add to her possibility of gaining rank in the guild.

One thing Kronosk noticed as he looked up at his fellow demon was that this woman – Niki was very persistent. Kronosk suspected there was some kind of reward in recruiting a member of this Demon guild. Kronosk for a short period of time actually fought with his own army, in a way that was like a guild. People trying to move in rank, the only difference is you were probably going to die if you weren’t high enough rank. Being the front line had to be tough.

”What do you get from me joining this guild?” Kronosk inside was smiling, it wasn’t likely she was expecting that kind of response, however outside his face was stone cold. He was a good actor. ”And whatever it is, rank, money, power. I want in on it.” That made Kronosk smile outside, he was bargaining with a guild of demons.

Niki smiled back. You didn't bargain with the Divschatten. You just didn't do that. "If you decide to join, Kronosk, I gain rank. I get a title within the guild. You, on the other hand, will get nothing. You will get a title of 'Member of the Divschatten', which, isn't really a bad thing, and yet, not a good thing at the same time."

Niki stood up straight then. She jumped from the stage, and then her wolf took her place. Niki looked up at him. "Be nice. She said. The wolf sat down, but continued to glare at Kronosk. Niki looked at the demon and waited to see if he'd join. Who wouldn't want to join in on slaughtering an entire village in a couple of minutes?

It was just as Kronosk suspected, she wasn’t doing this out of the kindness of her heart. It was a competition of power. If he chose to join this Demon Guild, he would also join this competition. If he had to guess, he would say gaining rank is probably one of the most important things to do within the guild. Rank brings power, and power brings fear. That’s the goal of the demons, to bring fear to who ever crosses them.

Kronosk watched the women carefully as she jumped off the stage, and out of the darkness a wolf comes to take her place. At first the young demon was kind of confused, but then he realized that the wolf was Niki’s pet.

She commanded it to: ”Be nice” Kronosk smiled, the wolf was ready to pounce at her command. ”He’s very loyal to you.” Kronosk stated as he took a small step forward in both of there direction. ”So, you’re currently just a member of the Divschatten? Why don’t you take me to who ever I have to talk to?”

Kronosk had given in, the idea of power and fear made him realize this could be a good thing for him.

Niki smiled. Good, he agreed. "He should be..." Niki petted her wolf. He, and Chaos, where the only ones that saw any of her nice side. She turned her face away from the Demon and gave her wolf a smile with kindness in it.

Niki turned her back to her wolf, and headed towards the door. He jumped off the stage, glaring at Kronosk as he went. "The question is not who do you talk to, is when you'll talk to them." Niki knew that, with Lynthaer back from wherever he was, Chaos taking charge, and AD hiding away from the world, the battle for the head of the guild had begun. She didn't know would take it, but she knew by Chaos' temper would get the better of him.

When she got to the door, Niki turned around, and leaned her elbow on the door frame. She smiled at Kronosk, and said, "If you have true interest in joining, I would suggest that you fallow me. I'm heading to the guild hall, anyways." And with that, Niki turned out of the cathedral, and started heading in the direction of the guild.
