Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

The air was quiet and still. There was very little if any movement going on now around this area. It was as if time itself stood still. The wind did not blow. the clouds did not move. The world seemed to stand still. Not even a monster or beast of the wild was here.

The only thing that was now moving was a charcoal skinned woman with pointed ears moving through the ruins. Her pink tinged hair was pulled into a braid and clasped with a symbol that was made out of what looked like tarnished silver on the end and where her hair was bundled up. Her steps were silent and slow. Almost as if the weight of the air bade visitors to keep the silence and stillness. She could feel the weight of the air as it filled the place with Thrhild -Weight of no sound-, a silence that could be felt.

She watched the world around her silently as she stood among the old decrepit decaying structures that were all that remained of the once there civilization. She paused as she heard something. She turned as she looked around.

There it was again. She was certain this time that she had heard something.

The darkness looked over the ancient city, blanketing the ruins with the cover of night. It was a dim solemn night, creatures and beast seemed to be void of the area, it was almost eerie how much life was absent from this place. Normally small creatures like rabbits or raccoons would wonder by, or a lone traveler seeking refuge under its ancient stone structures. But no, nothing was here this night, save for the dark enigma of Shaco. The demon jester lurked through out the darkness, dancing around in a light shade of blue, lighting his jester suit. His blue glowing eyes pierced the darkness, they appeared to be fire flies bouncing around the black background of the night, however to anyone who laid eyes upon them, they would instantly be able to feel a dark entity about the eyes.

"The kids come out to play, lost in night, hide in day. They stumble on the house of god, and feel no pain, save for when hunt, and they are slain. Mwhahaha" The child like voice would echo out in the night, like an ominous echo that almost seemed like it was not real. The demons appearance would be cloaked in shadows, hidden from view of any wandering eyes. However they were not save from him. After several hours of dancing and singing, the clown soon laid eyes upon a woman, slowly making her way through the ruins. With a distasteful grin he stalked his way behind the woman.

She may have heard him, or even have felt his presence, but as long as he didnt want to be seen he would not be. Slowly he crept up on the woman, his bell on his shoes making small ringing noises. These noises would alert the woman and of course make her away that someone was behind her. He got almost five inches behind her, then vanished, allowing a gust of wind the blow behind her. He would appear several feet in front of her, now visable and sitting cross legged in the grass. A large crooked grin would be plastered on his face, the blue and purple jester suit shining in the moonlight. His head tilted to the side slightly, and with a child like voice, his words slithered out of his evil grin. "How many lash's tame a slave? Can you kill a Ox with a glaive? " He would both look and sound like a psycopath, a complete idiot, a fool, and honestly he was one, he was not mortal, he was not even living.

Shaco was the dark enigma of the dark desires of humanity. A manifestation of the evil from peoples hearts. And his childlike posture would tempt people into his innocent trap, and most did. He felt no sorrow, no remorse, only a desire to spread madness across the land, and have fun while doing it.

It was there. A small...tingle. She was not sure what made that sound but something did. She paused for a moment as she listened. It was coming from somewhere nearby, breaking this strange silence that covered the area.

She paused for a moment and looked around, her lavender eyes scanning the area around her, even in the darkest of shadows to the source of the noise. She heard the sound of something coming up behind her. She turned as a strange wind blew around her.

She pressed her lips in a line and narrowed her eyes. Something was playing with her. She didn't know what it was but something definatly was there a moment ago. The tingling stopped and she turned to find a man sitting cross legged on the grass several feet in front of her. She turned her head slightly, looking over this strange person.

There was something dark about his eyes. Something that she didn't like. His clothes were the same color as the sky, a color she had yet to learn. But something was off about this one. Something she could not explain that made her tense up and stand ground.

He spoke of a riddle. Of Slaves and Lashes, on how to kill an ox with a glaive. She watched him uncertain.

I don't know the answer to either to be honest. She said slowly in a low tone.

The jester sat there, head cocked and eyes locked on the woman. He was taking in her features, not because he cared about how she looked, or anything of that sort. But he ran across many different kinds of people in Imythess, and being able to remember them was something he found very useful, for you never knew when you might run into someone again. He stayed silent for a few minuets, keeping his gaze on the woman, like a stray dog would do for attention. she seemed confused by his sudden appearance, and odd words he spoke of. His grin spread up even more, if that was even possible.

Rolling back, his back pressed into the grass as the clown grabbed his ankles and began to clap his feet together, the small silver bells ringing out in the silent air. He giggled a bit, which slowly grew and grew into a manic laughter, that was loud enough to echo out from the ruins. He acted as if he had just heard the funniest joke ever, laughing so hard it would have brought tears to a normal human, tears Shaco did not have. After a few moments of crazed laughter he rolled back into a cross legged stance, and smiled at the woman once again.

"There is no answer"His shrill voice would call out. Then with a blink and a gust of wind he was gone once again, now standing a couple of feet to the womans right, head tilted to the other side, hand propping it up with his elbow dug into his gut. "For if there was an answer there would be no question. it would then be a statement that needs no explaining, for the answer exist. and if the answer exist it can not be a question, thus there is no answer to my question. Haha hehe hoho" He started to clap and spin around in a circle, dancing and laughing all at the same time.

Artemis paused and looked at this strange person again as he rolled backwards and hit his feet together. She noticed small round metal balls on his shoes. Ah. She thought as she seen them while he rolled backwards and laughed. Those metal balls are what makes the tingling sound. I've never seen such things before. Hmm... But I still don't like this. I don't like his eyes nor his laugh she pondered to himself as his laugh grew to a point that sent shivers down Artemis' spine.

When he rolled back up he spoke of answers and questions. She tilted her head and gave a low shrug. "To be honest... That makes a quite a bit of sense.
"
she replied. She wasn't sure if talking was the best way but it at least it was a way to figure out what he may or may not want.

A loud echoing laugh would escape his body once again, as he stopped spinning around and eyed the woman. She seemed to think what he was saying made sense, and even if it did he didnt know. He had no sanity about him, a crazed demon confined in a body shaped like a human. He stared at her for several seconds, not moving, just his head cocked to the side and glaring. Then out of no where he shouted, and took off running as fast a she could right at her. When he got about a foot away he dove right for her, face first like he was diving into the sea. By the angle of his body he would have head butted her right in the chest, however his bright glowing eyes would blink, causing the jester to disappear again.

Now he was behind her, the tiny bells jingling once again. But he was not far off like before, now he was right behind her. He rest his chin on her shoulder and spoke in a creepy calm voice, almost like a wisper. The sound would fill her ears, and she would be able to feel darkness and insanity in its purest form. Shaco makes no sense, Shaco has no sense. Muoooohehehe, shacos sense is senseless! He chuckled and fell backwards. He should have landed flat on his back, however he rolled off on his back and flipped over, landing back in a cross legged stance behind the woman.

"So Lady do you have any sense? maybe you can spare me some! or spread it on toast and eat it like jam! Hahahaha" Clapping his hands together he rocked back and forth, the clown sounding like a small child. It was hard to tell if he was serious, telling a joke or just simply out of his mind.
