Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Lt. Andreas balanced his waterskin in his hand. Almost empty. That wasn't good, he gave one last glance over the frost ruins laid out before him before turning to walk back into the ancient fortress that the Loyalists have holed up in for now. Of course the fortress was facing away from the ruins into the open world, it was still a good vantage point. He walked in his Human form, as did the rest of his Silver Wolves. They wore feldgrau uniforms without any armour. Other militarised forces probably would look down upon them. Yet they were still the Shadow Society's strongest regiment.

Andreas found his way into the command room and looked around at who were already talking. There was Claes, a zombie and probably one of the members closest to the missing Shadow Master. Across the table from his was the Human guise of Gul, an Undead Chill Dragon that came out of nowhere after the uprising and stated to have connections to Evals. Many were skeptical of him at first yet quite a few others vouched for him. The next person in the room to be noted was Sgt. Jecks, leader of the Undying Guard and the only other militarised group to be with the Loyalists. The last person was an officer of the Dark Scouts who claimed he didn't have a name and mostly kept quiet.

Gul appeared as a child, still being a young Dragon. Taking commands from a child wasn't odd for members of the Shadow Society, yet the Dragon still lacked experience for these kinds of situation. It was made clear that his suggestions would be taken into account but his word won't be followed as a replacement for the Shadow Master he was trying to be. Not until he had proved himself. For now, they were discussing how to deal with the hordes of frozen Undead that the Separatists were operating against Imythess...

The Scuttler stopped, sniffing occasionally with its three noses as it moved around on a vaguely centipede like body. It was built to track, imbued with an instinct for the hunt and a willingness to be directed. The Mirror liked that Luminary the most out of the pack that had been assembled to track down Andreas. She Who Chose Herself had learned through Doppelganger's agents that the Shadow Society was in a state of civil war and ignoring the advice of all her Ascendants, she opted to organize a series of strike teams sent out with the mandate to find Evals. For reasons unknown to the rest of the Hierarchy and even the Patchwork, the little zombie girl was the most critical aspect of the entire war.

Both the Mirror and Scuttler were Doppelganger's contribution. The Steelback came from Behemoth, the Kestrel from Zaiz and Lamprey was purpose built by Leviathan for this task. Cockatrice gave the last member of the group with Yellowpox, a Luminary she had worked on for sometime herself. The motley group were particularly unsubtle, but in the wake of betrayals, assassinations and outright conflict in the SS there was little need for secrecy. Scuttler had managed to track the werewolf's scent many leagues across Imythess, and with a ruin sighted in the distance Mirror believed they were finally approaching the were's destination.

Stopping at the treeline, Scuttler raised one of its six arms to halt the progress of the others. A half dozen eyes were set in the top of its skull and each of them were looking between the small horde of shambling undead that seperated them from the ruins. With no sighting of Andreas, it was without a doubt he was located somewhere in the buildings with the other numerous scents Scuttler had detected. Sensing the warm unlife from the Luminaries, almost as one the frozen undead turned towards the pack and began to shamble towards them.

With a bitter look towards the trio of luminaries from the physically minded Ascendants, Mirror was at least thankful for a temporary release for the pack. Over time it was growing harder to keep their predatory instincts in check. It might even draw out the elusive Silver Wolf commander to boot. The only complication would be numbers, Mirror did not doubt individually they had been blessed more than enough to wipe the floor with the Untouched. Unfortunately there happened to only be six of them present.

"And you're sure that fire doesn't work on these... Frostfell Undead?" Claes said with an almost contagious level of concern for their situation. This was the conversation that Andreas had walked in on, the conversation that had been going on for the past five hours or so and the one he had to take a break from. Jecks nodded and replied in his gruff voice. "Positive. Now I'm going to have to ask again for you to not question what I tell you about our opponents. I fought alongside their shambling hides last year."

Sgt. Jecks was a very large man and it could be said that during his life he was very powerfully built. He still was even in undeath and towered over everyone there, even Andreas who was considered quite tall. Jecks also was covered in plate armour and carried a war hammer on his back with an over-sized head. The Hammer of Shockwaves, one of the goodies that were left behind by the Shadow Master before she disappeared. Among the others were the blades The Morrigan and Ice Sickle that Andreas currently carried.

Claes nodded in response and Gul put his hands on the table and leaned forward, as if interjecting himself into the conversation. "I should have brought this up earlier but are there any magic users with us besides myself?" He asked and looked around at his companions. Claes was the first one to respond. "We have a few Necromancers but nobody near your ability with magic."

Before anyone else could speak up again, someone else entered the room. One of the soldiers of the Silver Wolves. "Lieutenant, Frostfell Undead have been spotted in the area. Permission to dispose of them?" Andreas turned around to face his man. "How many are there?" The commander questioned. "We counted 24, sir." The Lieutenant nodded and made a gesture for him to go tell the others. Once he was gone, a low laugh emitted from Jecks. "Your men have a lot more restraint than mine do." Andreas shook his head. "I wouldn't be so sure about that."

Out in the field, a group of ten Silver Wolves was mustered in only minutes as the shambling horde of Undead made their way through the area. One man went out and made a distraction with a howl, luring the Undead towards him. Six of them had run around the sides to stealthily flank the currently funneling enemies. Two stayed behind to be buffer incase something happened to the distraction. Once the frosties were in a desirable position, the attack was unleashed.

The Humanly disguised unit of the Silver Wolves engaged the Undead in hand to hand combat. Their goal was to get the Undead onto the ground and then deliver a crushing blow to the chest or backs. Secondary goal was to crush the enemies' legs and deal with the immobilised threat afterwards.

The Steelback was evidently built around an inhuman frame. Possibly an ogre or a troll, the powerfully built skeletal structure was supporting a heavily modified physique. The bones had been augmented so the gribbly had a severely hunched posture, and even still it stood roughly at ten feet. A shaggy mane of brown and black hair ran down in a stripe that started from its head and cut out into a raggedy tail at his waist. Implanted into his skin all along his back, forearms and shins were hundreds of blades. Dozens of different kinds ranging from daggers to broadswords to oversized caltrops. The face had been deconstructed to allow a pair of powerful, retractable tusks to be grafted on along with a reinforced upper body so the Steelback could deliver a charge without injuring itself. Above a slavering maw of razor teeth was the only human-looking portion in a pair of deep set green eyes that always appeared tired.

The Luminary gave a huff when the sounds of combat rang out from the other side of the field. The Scuttler started making a gurgling noise, and the Hunting Pack felt more so than heard what it said.

New contacts. Ten. Andreas scent.

The Mirror dictated they be treated as neutral combatants, treat with caution but they were not to directly or indirectly engage them. Through a common foe, the Pack might have some measure of leverage.

The Kestrel's body was shaped like a dog the size of a horse, bony spurs lined its four legs with feet that ended in vicious talons meant to grasp or sheer through flesh, bone and metal. Its quad-wings started to beat furiously and it took a galloping leap as it took off with powerful flaps, spined tail trailing behind it. Arcing high up above the battlefield it zeroed in on one of the frozen undead, pausing it tucked its wings in tight and swooped down faster than any creature its size had a right to move and the face covered in bone-plating that had been shaped and fused with magic impacted the undead with enough force to blow it apart spectacularly. Landing heavily, the Kestrel's powerful limbs continued the motion by pushing forward and taking off again.

On the ground Lamprey had already taken to tunneling under the snow and hard packed earth, he would be unseen for sometime yet. Steelback's more straight forward approach was announced with a bellow that could be heard for a mile around. It was loud enough and close enough that Scuttler was reduced to a pain-wracked twitching state and several clumps of snow cascaded out of the trees. Pushing forward the powerful Luminary shattered trees like they were twigs and promptly did the same to the undead before it. A backhand swing and the frozen zombie was torn in half, a swift kick and another' upper half was severed from the legs.

The undead here weren't even worthy to be called a challenge.
