| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Aiden's sense of balance received a horrible shock as he hit the ground rolling...and was then plucked into midair by an unseen engine. The tumult was enough to make the elf's mind swim, but not before he looked down to see what was not hurtling him at great speed through the air. Dragon talons, he thought with a deepening sense of dread. It seemed that the Northern Dragon which had stayed on the sidelines all this time had finally made an impact on the battle. And that "impact" had been decidedly targeted on Aiden and Shan. "Guess that means we did something right," he muttered, preparing to be dropped high above the battlefield towards a grisly end at any second. However, to his surprise, the ride ended just as jarringly as it had began. Aiden quickly found himself falling, and in turn quickly stopping, as he landed with a thud upon an icy outcropping of the castle. He scrambled to his feet, expecting more golems to be waiting in the wings, but to his surprise only Shan greeted his expectant eyes. "Well then," the elf said, looking at the icy 'decorations' around them and trying to guess what would be in store for them now. "So, um, Aiden? Are you okay? And do you think you can fly us out of here before someone official looking shows up?" Looking around the outcropping, Aiden nodded and replied, "Yeah, I think I can get us out of here if needbe..." The elf trailed off as he looked at the musician with a mischievous glance. "Though...how official of a person do you think we could get up here?" The elf kept the sly glance for a few long seconds before shrugging and closing his eyes. "Eh, never mind, probably a bad idea." With that, a sudden burst of flame emitted from the elf's back before forming into four large, fiery wings. "Quick, hang on to me and I'll get us out," Aiden ordered, already beating his wings and lifting himself off the ground an inch. Aiden looked in the sky, hoping that he wouldn't see a dragon...or have to outfly it. . . |

Shan clung to Aiden, shutting his eyes as they left the ground. His stomach roiled as he felt the ground fall away. He hated flying. Hated it with a passion, but flying was a better prospect than remaining here, so he'd deal with it. Shan managed to open his eyes for a bit, looking up so he didn't have to see how far they had flown up. Above them, the blue skies of the north flowed forever, reaching from growing icewall edge to growing icewall edge. Wait, his second thoughts said. What? "Aiden..." Shan said, as a sheet of translucent ice grew faster than they flew, shutting above them and sealing away the sky above. "Aiden, I can't play anything like this, and there's something in our way..." OOC: Sorry...I'm sorry for the length.... |

OOC: And I'm sorry for the timing hahaha BinC: Aiden lifted from the ground and shifted a bit in midair as he adjusted for the bard's weight. Testing his wings a bit, the elf smiled in satisfaction as he continued to put room between himself and the icy ground below. "Bravo," he muttered, turning his attention to the open sky above. With a powerful flap of his wings, the elf quickly gained distance, moving quickly through the air towards the edge of the castle walls and to freedom. And then, a curious thing happened. Walls started to grow from the castle walls, quickly sprouting above the icy outcropping of the castle and forming a dome of ice across the expanse. "No way," he muttered in disbelief, quickly lending speed to his wings in an attempt to outfly the growing barrier. Shan seemed to notice the problem as well, though his words were lost to the wind as Aiden angled upward and flew as fast as he could. Even that, however, proved to be futile to the elf's sudden realization. Before he could really react, the ice quickly covered up the expanse of sky above, encasing the elf and bard in an area of temptingly clear, but certainly magically reinforced ice. "Well that's new," Aiden said, partly in disbelief, but mostly in exasperation at their swiftly deteriorating situation. "Just wonderful." With little else to do, Aiden angled back towards the ground...and his eyes widened in disbelief as a portion of the castle wall seemed to open up...and poured out a number of ice golems with their weapons at the ready. "Damn!" Aiden shouted, knowing full well that Shan was aware enough to notice this new threat as well. "We need to hit the ground running, I think," he said, still speeding back towards the ground. He knew that if any of the golems knew magic, he would be a sitting duck in the air as long as Shan was holding on. For now, the ground was a better choice. Some choice, Aiden thought bitterly, his hand already on his blade as he prepared to land...and fight. . . . |
