| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

J'hael didn't want to leave the beast behind, alive. She put her common sword back in it's scabbard behind her back. She held the Lightning Blade in both hands. Reaching deep down inside herself, she called up the magic of the blade. Even inside, she could call lightening. It wouldn't be as powerful inside a building, but the lightning came from the sword, not the sky. Her silver eyes turned a brilliant blue as she released the power. She bent back as the power went through her in a silent scream, and came out through the tip of the blade. It struck the target and electrocuted him. She could smell burning flesh and fur. The stench was almost unbearable. Finally, she cut of the power and it slowly flowed back into the sword from her body. The best was down on his back, groaning. It gave her time to run out the door and trap him into the room by using her telekinesis to once again make the stones fall into a giant pile of rubble. She wondered how long it would take the beast to recover and then to dig himself out. It would have to be a long time. They had already made too much noise. Men were starting to spill out and she was exhausted from using magic. She needed time away from the battle to rest. But she didn't see how that could be possible. There was no where to go but out and back into the raging battle that way. The queen would be alerted to their presence by now. She caught up to Fysen. And silently asked him what to do next. She told him she was exhausted and needed sleep. That was when she spotted a most rare and extraordinary sight. A steed stood alone among the dead, her head tilted to their approach. She was silver without the slightest bit of dirt on her beautiful coat. The closer they got, the stranger it seemed. She thought she might be hallucination, but upon closer inspection she realized it was an Angelic Steed. This was a rare beast indeed! She stopped a few feet of it, so she wouldn't startle it. It looked at her with intelligent brown eyes. She cautiously approached and the horse did the same until they were standing in front of one another. "Horse", she said. It neighed once in reply. She reached her hand out and allowed it to sniff her hand. It lowered its head as if it wanted to be petted. She softly petted its silky, silver mane. Upon contact, she felt power radiating from the horse. Suddenly, there was a ring around her and Fysen. The spell Bless had been cast, causing a feeling of being stronger and full of hope. Her heart soared. She felt then that she could conquer anything and everything. The ring faded from sight, but the feeling remained. She was ready for battle. |

Fysen looked the horse over, almost unbelievingly. How had he missed something so huge? Well, now wasn't the time to dwell on that. Now was the time to find the White Queen, and see what answers she had to offer. With the feeling bestowed by the seemingly blessed steed, Fysen was again surging with hope. It seemed like things just kept going right for him, and even in the face of this incredible danger, he felt like he could move mountains. "Ah, but young child. You haven't even found me yet! Nor have I sent my most timid of magics at you. Do you really think you can approach me without repercussion? You are, indeed, a juvenile. But an interesting one. Perhaps I'll let you approach yet. Should you be capable." The voice echoed throughout the corridor, the frosted marble of the castle vibrating with her words. But even being deaf, Fysen could hear the words in his head. While at any other time he may have been frightened, he wasn't now. He had traveled a ways and had learned many things in his day, and while the idea of hearing what she said in his mind was unusual, it wasn't the first time it had happened to him. He looked towards J'hael and smiled. "She said we can come in. Kinda. Let's go!" As he spoke, he was already making his way to the north, toward the large door that seemed to be made of ice. He reached it in a matter of a few steps, and reached out toward the handle to push the door open. His hand was met by and icy bite, the handle flashing an icy blue. The pain surged through the entirety of his body, before he collapsed, utterly unconscious. A chilled laugh sounded throughout the corridor. Undoubtedly the White Queen's. |

J'hael had heard the evil woman's words as well. She flinched, but the feeling of courage was still bubbling through her veins. It was like ice water in the desert. It sent a surge through her and she raced behind Fysen. He connected first with the door and collapsed. Frightened, J'hael dropped to her knees next to him. She didn't know what to do for him. The horse had followed, but it seem it did not know what could be done either. She hoped Fysen would come out of it soon. She took off her cloak and laid it beneath his head. She wished at that moment that she had been taught the ways of magic so she could heal him. But she did not know that spell. She was a warrior, not a mage. She knew he could not hear her so she didn't try to speak. She just rested her hand on top of his head and waited. She knew she couldn't wait long. The cackling laughter that swelled throughout the castle was a sign of that. All she could do was hope and pray that he would come back to her before it was too late and they were caught.. |

Minutes passed, and Fysen did nothing but lay there. It may have looked grim, all things considered. His breath was shallow and his face pale, but his pulse still strong and steady. Slowly, after more waiting, Fysen's eyes began to twitch, and his fingers began to tremble. Cautiously, he opened his eyes, looking around quizzically. Look up at J'hael, he simply smiled. "She's tricky. Can you use that mind power you have top blast the door down? If she's guarding it like this, something tells me she doesn't want us on the other side." He stood from his spot on the ground, picking up J'hael garment as he did so, gently handing it back to her. It was then that he realized what he just put her through. He soon found himself blushing. His reckless want for finding the White Queen had jeopardized his well-being, and as such, the morale of his ally. Ashamed, he looked at J'hael apologetically. "I'm sorry I did that. I just realized what I'm putting you through by running around so haphazardly. I promise I'll be more careful from now on." |
