| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

No matter how much personal power Diana gained for herself, in the end she could not achieve the goals she had in mind alone. Allies would be needed, and in order to gain allies she had to show off her own use. All over the place Striberg had called for aid, but Diana only paid attention because of the news of the powerful witch who had attacked them. She heard plenty of other mercenaries had gone to aid her instead of Striberg, and Diana decided to do much the same. After all, what better a chance at making friends then fighting for them. This had been Diana's first time to Striberg, and she had a feeling it would be her last. It was not entirely because she was sure the side of the White Queen would be victorious, but more because she was sure she would not be allowed there ever again. Unless she took some precautions, of course. Waving her hands over herself she began to shape her appearance to a younger woman, and with tanned skin, ludicrously pink hair and purple eyes. At least if the attack failed she would not be closed off from the City of Magic. She made sure to make littler changes to her chin and cheeks, making sure she would not be recognized as her normal self. Diana came into the battlefield with her cloak on, her eyes scanning the battlefield as she went towards the bridges. The bridges were the centerpiece of the battle, and she could see her enemies were trying there best to get rid of them. "Silly mortals," she giggled to herself girlishly, attempting to make quite the character of herself while she was here. She drew her blade and began to move forward, wondering who would bleed for her first. |

Another golem fell. Nkiruka forced air from her lungs sharply, puffing vapor. The White Queen's forces were pouring down the Sixth Bridge, but since she and a few Striberg Guards arrived the assault faded to a slow trickle. Bodies piled up behind them: metal golem parts, mutilated bodies of guardsmen, and strange foreigners enhanced by magic. Nkiruka lifted her weapon to the air: the runes etched into the blade glowed. The very ocean yielded to the power of the shortsword, and a tremendous column of water at least twenty feet tall rose into the air. She brought it down hard with a downward slash of the blade; the wave's weight bore down on the bridge and anyone who might still be standing on it. Cracking ice. When everything cleared, the bridge was floating in pieces. Another one down. Nkiruka sheathed both weapons and propped her hands on her knees, out of breath. A masked guardsman asked her if she was alright. She nodded, wiping freezing sweat from her brow. Even with just a few moments of rest the soldier was already feeling her body cool down: bad news, seeing as how she'd been unfortunate enough to be wearing her patrol uniform when this attack started. The loose-fitting, rather thin clothing was best for removing excess body heat in the deserts of Istan, not holding it in. Either way, no time to sit around. Already half-recovered, she straightened and jogged to the next bridge connecting to the city. Guardsmen surged forward and clashed with droves of foreigners, but Nkiruka was hesitant to enter the ice. She'd probably be thrown off and forced to contend with the ice-cold, salty water. Another oddity she spotted with her enhanced vision was a strange woman -- or she assumed it to be a woman, as the most striking thing about her was the full head of bright pink hair she had. A strange foreigner fashion trend, she supposed. Either way, she was definitely more of a threat than the other soldiers, based on how she was fighting those guardsmen. Nkiruka unsheathed Leviathan's Fang again. This time she directed the water with very precise movements, each slow spin of the blade drawing up more long, thick tendrils of water from the ocean. They hovered in midair before Nkiruka finished her preparations and pointed at the garish foreigner. Lines of water rocketed through the air, one shortly after the other, attempting to knock her off the bridge with the full weight of water. If that didn't work, they should at least distract her for a few moments to let the guardsmen regroup. |

Diana giggled to herself as she met the guardsmen in battle, meeting a blade with her own. As a second guardsman moved against her she pulled the first by the neck with a free hand in front of her, causing him to be her meat shield as he is stabbed in the back by his fellow. As he gasped she then backed away quickly in order to kick him into the guardsman. It seemed she might have done too good a job making herself unrecognizable as she had made herself into quite the target as other guardsmen moved to meet her. But these were the small ones, the ones she could let the golems of the White Queen deal with. Not far was a warrior calling tendrils of water. Diana noticed her just in time, a spell cast quickly as she stared. Her body disappeared before the water could smack her off the bridge. "Well, hello there," came a voice behind the water bender, and the ludicrous form of Diana seemed to have gotten behind her. She did not give much warning aside from her words when she slashed at the warriors back. "My, such an exotic looking warrior for this Striberg," she mused to herself. She studied the woman, and had a feeling this might be a tough fight. There would be some problem with having to deal with other enemies, but as the golems and other foreign allied warriors like herself would hopefully distract enough to keep this a one on one she could put her full focus on. |

Nkiruka had to concentrate so hard on manipulating the water that she only had a split-second to react. At every turn she was an instant too late: realizing her target had vanished, hearing the greeting, and finally the attack. The soldier was in the process of wheeling around as her opponent's blade cut hard across her side and back, between her ribs. She clenched her teeth together to avoid making a sound. Nkiruka flipped Leviathan's Fang into an inverted grip, holding it defensively, while she stepped in toward her new enemy. The machete in her right hand flourished into a spin that was more than just for show: it gave the weighted weapon extra momentum in a fast series of strikes the soldier aimed at Diana's torso. After this brief assault she backed off, holding out the Fang slightly. To Nkiruka's surprise, the foreigner spoke perfect Common, making a remark about how 'exotic' she was. "And it's not exotic to have pink hair where you come from? Who are you?" Rather than wait for an immediate response, the soldier slashed her enchanted weapon through the air overhead and darted out of the way. The motion summoned up a large wave intended to wash onto shore and knock the foreigner off-balance. Black blood poured from her wound, staining her uniform and dripping down her back and legs, and she was now breathing heavily through her gritted teeth from the exertion of hydrokinesis. Even with possible backup from other guardsmen, the odds were definitely not in Nkiruka's favor.

The Vampire moved quickly to block the spinning attack of the blade. Her movements were quicker then a human could move, though most would assume it was because of some spell she had previously cast. As her own blade clashed with the strange warrior's attack she felt her body vibrate slightly. There was a lot of muscle in what she had assumed was a mortal. She also bled black, and Diana felt her thoughts jump back to a time not long ago when she was abducted by mysterious creatures. She did not allow her thoughts to interfere with her character, and she kept a slightly crazed smile as she answered the girl, her blade raised to block the new attack, though she did not notice the wave as it came to knock her off balance. Rather then fall over or at least stumble, Diana only started to slip before her body no longer fell, and her legs no longer touched the ground. It seemed as though she floated quickly towards her prey before letting herself drop again. "Call me Pinkie Pie," she answered cheerfully. As she moved to her prey, her counter attack came in another swipe of her blade from above. "Let's party!" she giggled, winking suggestively before sending a very swift low kick to her enemies ankles to knock her off balance. "I think I shall call you Exotica!" On occasion, Diana just had to have a bit of fun with a role. |
