| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Elissandra rushed to the top of the tower, answering the warning bell the watchman had been ringing. Soldiers were gathering, trying to get information on the alert. Throwing open the trapdoor, she climbed up, grabbing the hammer of the bell. “What's the situation? Another raid?” She looked around the outside of the town. “Not a raid, Lieutenant. Drake.” The pale-faced guard pushed the words out, looking sick over the news. Turning her gaze up, she spotted the creature in the skies over the sea. It gave off a blue shine when the sun hit its scales right, looking quite sizeable but not yet mature. Elissandra blanched, a tingle running up her spine, hairs on the back of her neck rising. “That's not a drake, soldier.” She sighed, opening the trapdoor once again and beginning her descent. “That's a dragon.” Rushing down the spiral staircase, she came out onto the stone wall, running along the walkway and down the set of stairs to the grounds below. Seeing a lost-looking trio of soldiers, she snapped her fingers at them. “Get the ballista. We're goin ter need it.” The men nodded unsurely, rushing off to where the siege weapon was stored with confused glances at each other. “Damn it all...” She cursed, watching the juvenile frost dragon pass over an area of new construction, leaving a trail of frozen ground where it breathed, tail swiping a soldier from his feet. |

"Oh, yeah, great idea, Vael! Steal the shinies from the dragon's lair, you'll be rich! Gaaaah!" The wood elf cursed as he ran in a zig-zag pattern in the direction opposite of the airborne leviathan. Convinced to sneak into his lair and steal some of the vast riches that decorated its cavernous walls, he was directly to blame for the monstrosity plaguing the war torn city. The thing had followed him for miles, and he wasn't sure if he was just lucky or if it had been toying with him. Fortunately the guards caused a bit of a distraction, and it was busy playing with them while he was focused on making his getaway. He didn't have enough room for all the loot he'd pilfered in his bags, so he'd decided to wear some of it. He made for quite sight, for any that were paying attention in the chaos caused by the beast overhead. Several gold necklaces hung from his neck, gold bracelets of all sizes and make literally lined his forearms, a jeweled golden circlet adorned his head, and two large sacks of gold coins were slung over each shoulder. In short, he jingled everywhere he went, or ran, rather. He continued weaving back and forth from building to building, trying to stay in cover as much as possible. He just hoped he could get out of Taris in one piece, and a lot richer than he'd been before... Edited by Vaelren, Sat Dec 3, 2011 5:55 am.
