Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Rin was not completely caught off guard when the man simply dropped his katana rather than attempt to free the blade. He seemed to, like her, be a fan of utilizing multiple weapons in a fight. Thankfully, her own method of conjuring new weapons seemed much more effective than his own, giving her a momentary respite from the sword slashes. Instead he punched at her face, metal gleaming along his knuckles and fingers as they shot towards her nose. She jerked her head to one side and slapped his wrist with the shaft of the trident simultaneously, so that instead of breaking her nose the spiked gauntlets just left a small cut along her cheek and nicked her earlobe. The wave of water doused his face before he could strike again, giving both of the combatants a moment to breath.

The construct was barely even breathing hard despite her exertions, holding the trident in both hands and watching the new blade that Zenjirou drew warily. It almost seemed to be a living thing, with orange veins of light pulsing along the length of the black blade. She wondered if there was some significance to the appearance of the sword, some hidden enchantment, but the assassin did not seem willing to demonstrate any such abilities. Instead he danced around the edge of her range, steadily retreating. Although it was probably an attempt to draw her in, the girl knew she had little choice but to attack. He had the page, after all; it was her duty to reclaim it from this man, from his dead body if necessary.

The girl took a few quick steps forward, thrusting the triple spearheads at the man's stomach. She immediately drew back the trident, whirling it through the air and slashing one of the outermost tines at the arm with which he held the katana. She knew that the broad movements required to use the trident effectively would give the man openings, but she hoped to offset those holes in her defense by continuing to utilize the power of Poseidon. Any rainwater that got within twenty feet of the girl began to coalesce above her head, slowly forming a large globe of pure water. Although she did not send it firing towards the man yet, she was prepared to attack him with the water at the right moment.

He waited for her attack, keeping on his toes, ready to dodge or parry the first attack that came at him. He brought his katana up and parried the trident as he dodged to the side. Only to smirk as he saw her sweeping attack, perfect. He ran towards her, running low to the ground, he sent himself into a roll to get under her attack and hop back up, slashing his blade at her. He didn't start a barrage of slashes this time though, instead he started to dodge to the side and back, ducking as he thrust his blade at her, leaping to the side and rushing forward to slash, constantly creating a small gap to allow him to see any water coming and then dodge it accordingly. It was the best he could do for now, he would have to wait for her to change the game, then he would use the situation to create the chaos in their fight.

((OOC:Sorry it's so short, my brain was dead for what would happen next))

Rin jerked the shaft of the trident back just in time to deflect the slash with the katana. She had to admit, she was getting very annoyed with this man. He was proving to be a far more difficult opponent than many of the people she had encountered in Imythess thus far. It was not necessarily his fighting skill that was so impressive, but rather his tenacity. Even though his opponent appeared to be no more than a teenage girl he was fighting all-out, relentlessly attacking and dodging around her own strikes. She tilted the shaft of the polearm so that his next attack glanced off of the golden metal, missing nicking her shoulder by mere inches. Her own style was completely and utterly reckless, but it often proved useful.

The girl pivoted to stare at the man, backing away for a moment. She spent the orb of water spiraling at his face, but the attack was a mere distraction. While the water slocked towards Zenjirou she followed behind it for a ways, darting off to the left right before entering the assassin's range. She used her momentum to run several feet up the wall, pushing off with both legs in order to flip over the assassin. As she flew over him she stabbed downwards with the trident, putting all of her strength behind the blow.

She landed on one hand, turning the movement into a backwards handspring. Rin managed to time the second flip so that she did not land on the stone cobbles, but instead landed on the flat of Laevateinn several feet above the street. Half of the length of the blade was still stuck through the wall of the house, but enough of the weapon protruded from its resting place that she could use it like a miniature platform. She crouched nimbly on her perch, holding the trident in a defensive stance. "Why are you doing this? You have no attachment to the page. Why fight for it so strongly?"

Zenjirou chuckled as he saw the water, she was probably going to thrust at him while he's dealing with the water. He was ready for her though, he swiveled to the side, spinning around as he moved to dodge the orb of water, he stopped to look at Rin... who wasn't where he thought she would be, she was running on the wall and springing up. He panicked, he couldn't dodge it in time, the thrust from above, he shot up his left arm and let his arm be skewered by the trident, he saw his red blood pour out as she landed, springing up from a hand stand onto her giant sword, she was simply more acrobatic, that gave her the edge.

He looked at his wound, it was rather serious, three holes in his arm, he sheathed his katana and started to speak slowly, "Dark power, rising from hell, give me new strength!" Black tendrils started to squirm and wrap around his arm, sealing the holes and stopping the blood flow, additional magic would be required, but for now his blood lust and battle fury were sated. He looked at her, "I fight for nothing but my Mistress and for my own enjoyment, those who fight and take no joy in fighting will simply destroy themselves, that is why people like you and me will forever be fighting and killing." He slowly reached into his pocket and takes out the page, tossing it to the side, he didn't need it anymore.

He slowly walks over to his fallen katana and picks it up, sheathing it as he looks back at her, "This battle is over, I don't feel like dying, you're just a bit faster then me... if this was any other city I would have taken you on a merry jog around the city's alleys and roof tops as we fought, but I am unfortunately not allowed to kill randomly in Striberg, until we meet again little girl." He waves to her and quickly walks off into an alley, heading towards the warehouses, he needed to get patched up before his wound reopened... if he met that girl again he would either take her to dinner or kill her... maybe both.

Rin watched the assassin unblinkingly, not even displaying excitement or confidence after skewering his flesh. He had somehow managed to stop the bleeding almost instantly, but the golden prongs of Poseidon's Trident were still wet with his blood. He seemed to possess some manner of unholy power, something she did not know how to combat effectively. However, his next actions completely surprised the girl. Instead of continuing to fight he launched into a fierce tirade, removing the page of the Grand Grimoire from his pocket and throwing it to the ground. Her eyes flickered between the glowing paper and the man, suspecting a trap, but for the first time he did seem to be interested in ending her life. Instead, he collected his weapons and prepared to depart.

"We will never meet again, I promise you that. If we do..." Her voice was a cold monotone, matching the icy gleam in her eyes. "It will only be because you have stolen that which is mine. Then I will kill you." His revelation that he was not allowed to kill in this city surprised her slightly; that suggested that he truly served under another's orders instead of being a wild and vicious serial killer. She watched him depart warily, making sure that he was truly retreating. After a few minutes of silence she knew that he had left for real and that she could finally relax. Rin hopped off of the flat edge of Laevateinn, stumbling slightly as she landed. Her entire body was covered in bleeding cuts, and the cauterized injury on her shoulder sent a searing wave of agony through her body every time she moved it. Only pure willpower had allowed her to fight for so long.

The girl yanked the greatsword out of the wall with one hand, ignoring the splintering sound as she tore it out of the wood. She walked over to the page of the Grand Grimoire tiredly, dragging both the greatsword and the trident behind her so that they scraped over the cobbles. With a thought she banished both of the weapons, as well as the fallen Gae Bulg several yards away. She knelt down and picked up the page, holding it tightly to her chest for a moment and letting its reassuring aura wash over her bruised and beaten body. "I found you, I found you, I found you..." She rocked back and forth, eyes tightly closed and trying not to imagine what would have happened if Zenjirou had learned how to manipulate the page's power. She did not like this city any longer; a demon apparently stalked its streets, and she knew she would be paranoid as long as she stayed here. Rin knew she would have left within a day or two if there were no other pages hidden in the iceberg metropolis... But never before had she been so anxious to continue her meandering journey across Imythess.
