Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Oh lord, that was a lot of questions. Odd questions at that too. Better start at the top. "Yes, though I never really noticed. I am an Elf after all." He said and thought about the next question. "Thats depends on you, really. If you've always had a huge appetite or lose blood often its may have to be often. I myself usually feed once a nights." There were some nights he didn't have to for some reason but it was his goal to remain healthy as he could.

"None. Unless you counts the immortality, but that's just my personal opinion." He waved that question off, he would rather be himself than a Vampire in the end. There were less people to talk to during the night, he might actually be part of his own family still, he might not be able to walk around in sunlight. Now... she was also asking about weaknesses. This woman had some kind of bloody obsession with vampires or something?

"That's a long one... and honestly nots for other people to know." She didn't deserve knowing all of his weaknesses. It would give her an edge against him if she ever came after him for revenge. "As for the blood. Everything else tastes horrible so it doesn'ts matter." Was that all, then? He was about to start getting impatient with her questions, why was he so nice?

It was obvious he was not going to tell her everything. He would not tell her weaknesses. She supposed she'd just have to find out for herself one day. Or perhaps, tonight. There was a hungry look in her eyes now, as childish dreams came back to her mind and she played with the idea of being a vampire. She decided on only two more questions, and then go quiet.

"Have you ever made another into a vampire?" came next, and for this question she waited and listened. Her voice was silky and soft, odd if one knew Diana's usual mannerisms. She was not really talking so sweetly to a man, she was talking to a dark temptation, a chance for immortality, a chance to have all the time in the world to do all she wished to do. She could not hide the small smile as she imagine ripping a man's throat out with her fangs. Oh what a dream her life could be.

When he did answer her question, she gave him her last question. "Would you turn... me?" she asked, hesitant but there was no hiding the wanting in her voice and eyes. It had been such a lucky night to find a vampire willing to have a conversation with his dinner, she knew she simply had to take the chance of asking.

"Nope." He never wanted to make more vampires The more of them there were, the bigger the vampire threat became. The bigger the vampire threat became the bigger the chance they would be hunted down and slaughtered. He only killed people that would've killed him otherwise too. Of course killing was always so messy. Blood got everywhere. Stained his clothes, sometimes. Maybe he shouldn't been so violent.

At the woman's next question, a laugh escaped Allaer's throat. He never got asked that before. It was actually such a silly requestion. She was requestioned to be an eternally damned being. "I'll think abouts its." Was all he said. All he said before he opened his mouth and sunk his fangs into the woman's neck.

He started to drain the blood out of her body. Only enough to feed himself, she would've lived normally. He was going to turn her into a vampire of course. On top of the dizziness she would feel, she would pass out soon. Only to wake up to be a vampire next sun down. That was going to be an interesting evening.

He laughed at her question and she wondered if that meant she was ridiculous for asking or if he'd simply never thought someone would ask him that. His reply was simple, that he would think about it. She did not get a chance to ask what that meant exactly as in that moment he was on her. She tensed but resisted the instinctual urge to try to fight him off, the sharp pain in her neck met with a gasp.

At first it hurt but as she started losing blood she began to feel dizzy. The world was beginning to dim, her eyes slowly shutting. Thoughts began entering her head as she wondered if this was what it felt like to die. She let out a sigh as her world blacked away, and dreams poured into her mind. What would she see here, what could possibly be dreamed up as she slept her final mortal sleep away?

First she dreamed of the brightness, the shining sun, then it cracked and fell away. She bid it good riddance, for she never really liked the sun much anyways. As the peaces fell away, they revealed the moon and she much better enjoyed the sight of that, as it was beautiful tonight. She stared down from the godless heavens and looked below to a river of blood. All around her were the bodies of her victims, those that suffered so she might live on and thrive. She laughed at their misfortune for coming across her.

The world was hers to play in, hers to enjoy for as long as she wished to remain alive. As she slept, she smiled, probably one of the few vampires to be reborn with a smile on her face at the prospect of being forever left alone in the dark.

Allaer had picked up the woman and carried her back to his house. It was going to be difficult to somehow get her up onto the second floor but he would try. Of course, not only carrying someone but it would look suspicious if he did such while having blood still dripping from her neck it would just be bad if someone saw her. Of course bringing them into a random window would make it seem even worse. He took his time getting back home, just to make sure he wasn't seen.

After a while of thinking, his awesome brain came up with a solution of how to get them both inside without much hassle. After inside, Allaer just laid her down on his bed. There were still hours left of the night, he couldn't go and leave this woman alone, though. Looking at his shelves, he took out a book and pulled over a chair. He spent the rest of the night reading. Only to fall asleep in the chair with the open book on his lap.

Diana kept dreaming. Her dreams were getting more violent as time went on. She hunted others like a bloodthirsty animal, ripping them apart and drinking their blood straight from the heart. As she dreamed about becoming such a predator, her body was changing to fit such a dream. Life as she knew it had left her, and soon she would rise as one of the undead.

When she did awaken it was with a gasp, her last dream ending with her being killed by a holy hunter of the undead. She arose in a strange bed, in surroundings she did not know. "Where..." she stopped as she licked her teeth. She could feel the fangs, and smile came to her lips. It had been done, it seemed, and her childhood dreams had come true, and the night had a new, young predator hunting in it now.

She looked around to find her maker, and she could not hide the girlish joy in her smile. Seemed he had fallen asleep while watching over her. "Rise and darken the world," she said in a whisper, though she was not trying that hard to really wake him up. She stretched, and her body felt different to her. There was a sort of unnatural feeling over her, as though she knew she should not still be in existence, but she ignored it in favor of the feeling of satisfaction of her accomplishment. "Never even thought to ask for your name," she said to her potentially still sleeping maker. "How tactless of me."

What was that. Oh, speaking. Allaer opened his eyes to find the woman. He rubbed his face, still half asleep. "That's a rather morbid thing to say." He grumbled as he stood up. Book falling from his lap, it hit the floor with a reasonable thud. That wasn't good. It was evening, which meant people were home, probably. If his parents came up and found out he still came here, he would be out of a room for sure. He quickly picked up the book and put it on the shelf, now wide awake with panic.

"No time." He said and went to the bed. He straightened out the covers on it before turning to look at anything else that might've changed in the room since they last came in here. Uh uh. With one last move around the room he closed a drawer that was hanging open and he pushed the woman. "Outs outs. It's dark enough." The sun was in the middle of setting, they could hide somewhere. Without evening waiting for her, he jumped out the window even more haphazardly than before. Within moments he was out of the backyard and went into hiding in the shadows of a shed.

Diana thought it odd he was so worried and rushed, but she did not worry too much about it and jumped out after him. She felt a sort of rush as she fell, landing in roll then hiding beside him. She would have asked what exactly they were hiding from, but she knew if one were trying to be stealthy then the first thing to do was to not talk. She waited for some other sign of instructions, hiding in the shadows with him.

She found her mind wandering quite a bit a way. There was a city to explore, and people to now look down upon like the new predator she was. Her eyes looked around, and she began to imagine her first meal. She wanted to feel the rush of draining someone dry, she was ready to give into her hunger. But first things first.

"Who are we hiding from?" she asked, quite simply, though in enough of a whisper to not feel as though she were endangering their presence to anyone nearby. She kept licking her new fangs, loving the feel of them. Oh how she could hardly wait to dig them into some poor, helpless victim.

"My family." He said and started to follow a pathway that led to a road. He stayed within the shadows to avoid being caught in sunlight from the rapidly fading light source. That was the only explanation he offered and he remained silent for a little while, about ten minutes or so. Despite anything she said he would just ignore it. Ignore it and continue on his path.

"Okay." This was the first thing he said. He stopped walking and turned back to the woman, assuming she followed him. "My name's Allaer. You're a vampire now. You're going to have to learn how to live as a Vampire properly." His voice was stern, his mood would probably lighten up as the evening went on, but the close call really set him off.

His family? What could that mean? Much as he had she respectfully did not ask more on the matter, but she was curious. Something to think more on later if she stayed around with him long. Of course, why was a Vampire hanging around with his family, anyways? Did that mean he was part of a Vampire Coven, or did he actually mean his elven family? Why was he afraid of them? Oh well, it didn't matter too much.

Diana followed close behind him, careful not to fall into the little rays of sun that were just starting to fall away. And the he finally stopped and spoke to her. Allaer was his name, wouldn't be too difficult to remember for her, not that she usually had trouble remembering names. He spoke sternly, probably just early evening grumpiness. After all, he seemed cheerful enough earlier, he would probably be that way again soon.

"Then I shall learn, teacher," she said, obviously already in a better mood then him. Oh how she wanted to kill something tonight and really enjoy herself, and finally get to taste blood on her lips without just being considered weird. Well now she was a vampire so it was normal to want to taste blood. Not that she had ever tried as a child or anything. Maybe. Alright, just once but she was really little.

Teacher, ha. That was a fun way to put it. "Great Teacher." He corrected, remember hearing that somewhere. "Great Teacher Allaer!" That was good, he was starting to sound enthusiastic again, before he could catch himself. His life was just too good overall, he couldn't stay upset over something so small. Just he might have to avoid his own room for a night or two.

Alright then. We'll be going on the roofs." It was just his preferred way of going about. Something about him attracted him to high places. He said this right here because this was where he usually got onto the roofs. Houses were really close together and there was a low one. Jumping up, he grabbed the edge of he roof and pulled himself up. Brushing his pants off, he wanted for his new ally to follow him up before proceeding down the rooftops. "First off, you should know. You can't enter anyone's home without permission, sunlight will kill you in moments flat and Garlic smells terrible." He had more to say but he waited for her to comment or something on these first.

She smiled as he seemed to be getting more into his cheerful self, of course the cost was that he was so full of pride she felt her might have his head burst open if he kept on. "Fine, Great Teacher," she said, rolling her eyes behind his back as he pulled himself on the roof. She followed him quickly, jumping up and grabbing the roof before pulling herself up with him. It wasn't too hard to get up.

She listened to the the first few weaknesses. Sunlight she had already guessed pretty well, however entering a home only with permission she did not, nor the garlic, she had always thought that weakness had only been a joke in a few stories. "Can anyone give me permission, or just the owner, or anyone who lives in it?" she asked. Best to know these things before hand rather then testing it out. "Once invited can you always come or does that invitation just effect one visit? And just homes, no other buildings?"

It was the only thing she said to him when he paused, and from then waited to hear more. She was however trying to think if she had ever even liked garlic before, to which she did not remember and thus assumed the answer was no. Nothing lost there. But not being able to barge in anywhere she liked seemed like a loss. Of course, he did just say homes, hopefully that would mean she could still go into other places like bars. Surely being a business that needs one to enter it to get their gold would be considered an automatic invitation.

Allaer casually walked on the rooftops with his hands in his pockets. He was scanning the streets for anyone that was still by themselves, or all alone. "Anyone inside really. Though it can depend." This is the part where it got complicated. So many complications. "Make note of thats I said home and nots house. You can enter a house if it's abandoned and nobody lives there any more. Yet a home could be anywhere, though its will only count if its has a roof and walls. A home is someone's personal sanctuary. We can't enter someone's personal sanctuary withouts permission. If some streetrats makes an old storage building into his home, the rules will come into effects. And yes, invites only work once. You'll need a new one every time you wants to come in." That was out of the way, it made sense, right? Hope so

"You do know that Vampires feed off of blood, and thats means you're nots allowed to eats or drink anything else. Your body can no longer digests its and its will make you sick. Trusts me, I know from personal experience." That wasn't a fine night. Not fine at all. "Lets see, ah yes, holy and bless objects. Hurts. A lots. No touchy." He said and waved his finger over his shoulder. Now what else was there....

So that was what the rule meant, not just a building, but a true home. That was interesting, and she kept that in mind. She felt she would not have to try to hard to get into most places, but she felt she needed to work on her acting skills as she was not the best at acting innocent. But she would learn, and learn quickly. After all, one can not always rely on there being people in the streets to snatch away and snack on.

It was a shame she would lose her ability to eat or drink anything else, but it was not too much of a loss. Diana had never been a particularly wealthy person, so there was no fine dining she would miss. At most she would miss the taste of meat, but the taste of blood would likely make up for it just fine for her.

Holy and Blessed objects... No love lost there. Diana had always been apart from such things anyways, after all she was only a step or two above being a common bandit, though some people would still say she was just a common bandit who thought more highly of herself. Well, they could shut up and die, she was a Vampire now so it didn't matter and she would not be taking any lip by some lawful little prats.

"Is there anything else, Great Teacher?" she asked, though she only barely managed to not scoff when she added 'Great' to the title.

Allaer stopped and tapped his chin with a small smile. "Everything I remember off the top of my head. I'm sure you'll figure other things outs when you gets to them. Nothing else potentially deadly, really." He said and shrugged and paused to look down on a street. There were a lot of people there, talking about something and he was curious what it was. No time for that tonight. Thinking of deadly. They say thats a stake through the hearts and decapitation would kill a Vampire, buts then again thats would kill anyone. So don'ts lets people kill you." He clapped his hands at the thought. He had done a good job at that so far but he was amazing so that was to be expected of him. "You technically didn'ts do a good job of thats lasts night." Yeah, she was dead. No heart beat, no pulse, cold skin, lack of blood flow in general.

He wanted to get this over with so he could go have fun, unless he could make her fun. "Now then, nothing better than first hand experience for learning. I want you to find your first victim on your own. I'll follow you and watch." With that, he stepped to the side, faced peripheral to her and made a short sweeping bow for her to go ahead of him.
