| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The sun beat down on Aurel as he laid in the sand, passed out. He awoke and had no clue of what was going on around him. The master archer of his old home is far from where he was before. Aurel stood up and rubbed his sparkling light blue eyes. They burned from the salt water that filled them. This was unusual, before salt water had never bothered him, he studied it constantly, but now it was as if he had never been in it. A little ways down the beach his bow and arrows lay on the ground. He walked over and picked them up. The quiver was covered in seaweed and the bow had something on it he had never seen. It was an insignia of what looked to be a whirlpool. A passerby stared at Aurel, more specifically his hair. What? Have you never seen blonde hair before? Aurel said as he approached the man. Sir.... Your hair is blue... That is why I looked at you like that... Aurel could not believe what he heard. He ran over to water, what the man said was true. What have I become? He fell to his knees in frustration. A mere two yards away a water golem raised up and attacked. Aurel jumped up and grabbed his bow and quiver. He put the quiver on his back and pulled an arrow out, then put it on the bow's line. To the right a man sat in concentration, perhaps a mage in control of this thing. Why attack him though? If he was going to make a move he had to act fast though. The golem stood in between him and the mage, its arm came around quick, in an act of desperation he fired the arrow then flew sideways. Aurel got up slowly and looked at the man. The arrow had pierced his neck, he was struggling for air. Why have you attacked me? Aurel asked. The man simply laughed and stopped breathing. Something was not right and Aurel was determined to find what was going on. |

Fen was taking some time to relax on the beach, watching the clouds float overhead. Huh, whats this noise I hear? Looking down the beach he saw a large water golem emerge and attack a strange blue haired man. The man seemed to have been fighting a mage so he sat and watched intently. He watched the strange man get sent flying as he sent off an arrow that pierced the mage's neck. Fen started to laugh and clap at the mans victory, he didn't seem all that strong but he definitely had great ability and determination. He began to walk towards the man when the earth beneath him began to shake. A sand golem emerged from below him and he jumped forward. "What the hell is going on here!?" His eyes darted around but he saw no mage to control this one. "Really... REALLY? OH COME ON!" Taking a few deep breaths he jumped at the chest of the golem, using his blade to cut a slit in the sand he reached his hand within. "Aha! Your core, you can't function without this now CAN YOU MINION!?" He ripped the sand golem's core from it's chest and smashed it against a rock. "Now where are you mage?!!" Glancing back towards the archer from before, the mage he killed seemed to have vanished. "Hey kid! Where did the mage go!?" He began to yell angrily. "God damn it all I HATE MAGES! Mages are vile! Worse than soldiers or vampires! Where did he go!?" He steadied his blade in both hands. Sighing he thought to himself. Whats with all the wierd things happening recently and I mean seriously blue haired guys and mages? Sheesh I mean really, why do my vacations always suck? I'm not THAT bad of a guy... He started to walk closer to the blue haired man and awaited some sort of response from him.

Aurel turned his head to the right and saw a man fighting a sand golem. This was an extremely weird day. He had no clue of what was going on, even aside from the golems. He looked around for another mage, not paying any attentionto the previous one. The man began approaching him asking where the mage was. Wheres the mage? He's right... He was gone, Aurel crouched down rubbing the sand where the mage once laid. This one was a clone. That's extreme focus, to be able to control clone and two golems... Aurel stood up. Aurel Aquatis, you can call me Hawkeye. You are? Aurel crouched down once more and examined the ground where the clone laid. There was some type of magical stone. Well, this explains his focus... He thought to himself. These are enchanted stones. I've studied them with my people, they help the magician focus as long as that spell remains where the stone lays. He got up and walked over to the sand golem and shoved an arrow into its head then pulled out the same rock. It would've fallen out of the water, so he couldn't put one in there. So he really only had to focus hard on the water... Interesting.

Fen looked over towards the man. "Fen, that's my name." He then bolted off towards a quarry he saw from the corner of his eye. He has to be in there, I see no other place for the mage to hide. As his right foot hit the stone of the quarry a great stone golem rose from a pile of stone. Damn! All these golems, he has to be running out of mana! Unless.... "Hawkeye! There might be more than one mage, get into the quarry! I'll take down this ogre of a beast!" The golem chased Fen towards the water. Darting in and out of the golems legs trying to find a weak spot, his blade had no effect against the rough exterior of the stone golem. It brought it's knee against Fen's chest and sent him flying into a nearby wave. As his back connected with the wall of water he let out an agonizing scream. Struggling to get above the water for air, he noticed a water elemental beneath the surface. Swimming for the shore like he was being chased down by a shark, Fen started to become fatigued rapidly. "Damn it!" He let out a cry as he began to intake water. He reached the shore as a burst of water shot him towards the stone golem. It's fist came down on Fen like a hammer. His body was slammed onto the shoreline. Blood was seeping out of his chest and he was still coughing water from his lungs. He took his sword out and used it along with a rock to gain his footing. He ran for the quarry with his remaining energy and rolled four or five times to avoid the oncoming attacks. As he once again reached the stone, he tripped and fell down the steep hole, only to land face first in more water. |

Merry meet Fen! Aurel yelled as he sat above the quarry and watched Fen get pummeled. He didn't want to leave Fen behind just in case he was injured in the battle. Aurel examines every move Fen made, a technique he'd learned as he became a bounty hunter. Aurel, or Hawkeye as people knew him, took out his bow and aimed at the water elemental who'd risen from the sea and was attacking Fen. The arrow flew forward past the elemental, distracting him. Out of nowhere Fen came tumbling in between his legs. He looked in to the hole and quickly looked up at the charging rock. Well then. He chuckled as he jumped into the hole. He slid down the tunnel and landed next to the fallen Fen, who by now was completely drenched in water. The cave looked to be a long tunnel, a little down the ways he saw a fork in the tunnel. He supposed that meant they'd have to split up. However, if one of them did stumble upon the mages, they would not be a match alone. There seems to be a fork in the tunnel ahead. We could split up but neither of us would be a match for two mages. I say we take the directions one at a time, mapping out the cave so we may find our way back. You look cold let me help you warm up. He summoned two pounds of water above Fens head and laughed as he walked ahead. Sorry, had to do it. You looked tired, I figured it would be best to be awake for this. Fatigue is no way to win a fight. He puffed out his chest and fired an arrow down the cave. He heard the link of it hitting the ground. Then an echo of thumps approaching. Two giant arachnid type creatures. If you are strong enough for battle, I will take the one on the left. If not, they still should not be difficult. They ARE just insects. |

He brought himself to his feet, grabbing at the small but noticeable hole in his chest. "Don't worry about me, if I'm still breathing I'm good." Falling against the wall Fen ceased breathing for a feint second. "Okay, well that's not good, but anyway, we need to find those mages. THOSE ROTTEN VILE MAGES!" He picked up his blade and charged at the right arachnid. He cut off one of its legs and picked it up. Driving the beasts own leg through its back. Squealing in pain as Fen circled it. "I hate bugs.." He said as he ran his blade through it's carapace skull.
