| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Rin strained with all of her might as the lupine took up her hands, his own fingers completely engulfing her small hands. Still, the construct was able to get a firm grip on Thindraug's fingers, and she slowly dragged him up out of the quicksand. Still, the wolf-hybrid did not seem completely recovered from the experience, shaking on the floor. He was quite the pitiful sight, his hands trembling and fur matted and clumped with thick globs of quicksand. Although his fingers fumbled for a moment, he still managed to pull a ring of keys out and jam one after another into the manacles around her wrists. The girl did not object, suspecting that the thief was attempting to free her from the fetters. A few short seconds was all the time it took for the lupine to prove her guess correct, the chains dropping from her wrists. "Don't worry... We are very close!" She waited for the thief to stand up before she began to run off, trying to ignore the shouts of the guards as they ran down the staircase. A slab of stone slid across the opening of the quicksand pit as they descended, allowing them to run across the floor easily instead of losing crucial minutes removing themselves from the trap. She snarled in annoyance as she sprinted away, focusing on the corridor ahead of them. The page of the Grimoire was so close she could almost taste it, the air tingling with its unique flavor. Rin skid around a corner, blue eyes scanning the wall ahead of her. There were six doors ahead of them, all of them clearly leading into different hallways. There was no time to explore each of them; she would have to pick the correct portal on the first guess. She closed her eyes, wasting a few precious moments to scry for the direction in which the page's presence was the strongest. "This one!" She pounced forward, lashing out with one foot and kicking open the iron door. Rin instantly knew that she had chosen correctly; the tome's power washed over her like a tidal wave. She smiled broadly at Thindraug, indicating the open doorway with a quick nod of her head. "It's in there! Go on in! I can cover you!" She let the lupine slip past her, turning and watching the corner with burning blue eyes. She curled her hands like she held the hilt of a weapon, although the space between her fingers was completely empty, and waited for the guards to catch up with them. She trusted that Thindraug's thievery skills would be sufficient to free the pge from wherever the museum staff had stored it. |
