Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Mayhem… Slaughter… Gore… There seemed to be a rather immense lack of this, especially considering that word was spreading in the city of Cascadia that a familiar monster was loose upon its streets. He moved around quite a bit, let places repopulate; let others drop their guard so that they could be so easily caught unaware when he decided to strike once more. It wasn’t of any specific sort of malice, he just felt an urge which he was sure to sate, a yearning for the edge of his white blade to bite into the flesh of whomever he chose as a victim, an appetite for death, destruction, the thrill of the kill. A thrill which seemed absent since his presence was learned, something that was found out from the moment he stepped foot on the floating island. The number of guards, of patrols, of even vigilante groups roaming the streets had increased a great deal; the demon had one of those faces, one plastered on as many wanted posters as possible. And with his list of successes in slaughter, in combat against the so-called heroes of Chaon, the bounty was high… If any were brave enough to risk a fight against a monster stronger than a dragon, fast enough to leave images behind, to vanish within an instant, to fly, to grow armor stronger than a variety of armor… All of course when he willed it, when he found enough excitement in a fight to bother even using these powers that so waited at his pale white fingertips.

Self-proclaimed “Last True Monster of Chaon…” And nowhere to be found. It was confirmed, dozens of times by citizens of Cascadia, the pale fiend was loose in the city, and there had been no word he left, simply the occasional claim of sightings on some street corner, people seeing monster for white clothing, not risking to pay enough attention. White clothing all-together seemed to vanish from the streets, vigilante groups not entirely sure what the limitations of the demon’s powers, believing he changed forms and appearances. They were utterly wrong, they didn’t even realize that from the shadows he was laughing at them, running around like chickens with their heads sliced off, clawing at whatever was nearby in a desperate attempt to find the creature that had them all riled up from their coops, they were practically laying eggs they were so excited.

Of course… he couldn’t allow things to simply die down, he couldn’t let the show end so abruptly. It wasn’t particularly his style, considering he normally wore clothes to match his skin, pale white, a sort of sick and twisted joke playing on the idea of certain holy figures wearing white as a sign of their purity… And in a sense, it was a symbol of his purity, the purity of his madness, his insanity, the purity of his thirst for bloodshed. He needed to fulfill this desire, this sadistic pleasure, and besides… clothes were clothes, he could allow the people fool enough to risk a fashion statement to take punishment in his place from the vigilante groups.

He wore simple clothing, brown tunic, loose rough-leather pants, brown boots... His normal clothing was hidden away where he was sure none would find it. And of course, a few finishing touches, a wicker sun hat, some dirt to darken the paleness of his skin… The ability to seem human would be particularly useful in this case.

In his hands he held a relic… hidden away in a back alley, a relic from a different age entirely… a mask. The left side mostly red, the right was white, and overall a bone-like look to the whole of it. He had visited the city he hated, he searched, and was surprised to find it there… Undamaged, only dirtied by the years in a pile of rubble that had used to be the library he had visited so often… The source of his knowledge in a different life… The mask was a reminder of what had driven him to madness, what drove him to the slaughter, to the kill… It was his beginning, the beginning… The beginning of his freedom from a life of which he would have been clearly better off dead, were it not for the fact he had to protect such a fragile thing… He pushed the mask beneath a long black coat he wore, made of a thin leather made it. A tilt of the hat to hide his face and that signature psychotic grin, his white sword hidden beneath his coat, and hands shoved into the pockets of the duster… He made his way from the alley, an even pace, looking out, resisting the urge to slaughter everything he saw for a different kind of joy. He wasn’t a fan of hiding himself like this… However, it was an experiment; so far he enjoyed what he saw, the groups of obvious guards and vigilantes passing each other, hunting for him as he hunted for a different kill… Such a thing was taking him back to the days of old… to the early days of his freedom.

Vyse was once again wandering Cascadia, he had stopped three petty thefts and a mugging in an alley, it was a good day. He had finally filled out the necessary papers to allow Umbriel to walk the town with him, though this was rarely done he had helped the guard out enough that they pushed his request through. He saw a few bounty hunters speaking in hushed tones, he walked over, asking politely, "What has you all so worked up, I've seen far more bounty hunters here then usual, is there a sudden influx of bandits or maybe something else?" Vyse had been out in the desert for a while, he didn't know any of the local news, they smirked and told him of a murderer who supposedly had been sighted in Cascadia, he was given some details of what he looked like, a pale man in all white. He rolled his eyes, any idiot would know the person would be in disguise, he thanked them for their time and walked off, he decided to head to his old stomping grounds for information.

He looked down at his old pants, they looked like it was almost completely stitching, he should probably buy some new pants while he was here... and boots to. He checked his clothing over all, his red coat had holes in it from swords and arrows, his boots were worn down to very think soles, but his vest remarkably was immaculate. He decided to hunt down the murderer, he'd use the gold to buy some new clothes, then donate the rest to a Taras rebuilding project he knew of, that would definitely be for the best.

He kept on wandering through the dark alleys, looking for his old friend Ratterung, though no signs of the little man were found, he found that odd, whenever he was in town Ratterung always came looking for him, finding him and offering information trade, he remembered that he wouldn't deal with those in immediate danger, with the murderer in town maybe he was being precautious. Still something didn't sit right with him, Ratterung wouldn't resist meeting Umbriel in person and having a free ride, that experience would be worth a gold mine... something was definitely up, maybe Ratt was currently in danger himself... or maybe he was. As a precaution he kept his hands on his hilts, ready to draw in a moments notice.

Kill, kill, kill… The word practically plagued the pale fiend’s mind; of course… it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, not to him at least. To whomever may be his next victim, who he may leave little more than a clumped-together pile of dusty remains so all may know to continue their beautiful acts of utter fear. More… Well, considering the last week… people had been killed by vigilantes than he had slain himself. He wasn’t usual to this sort of act, lurking about, seeming like some dirty pathetic human peasant, but it helped him to blend in.

Honestly, it wasn’t making him any happier. The outfit was itchy, the dirt to darken his pale skin made him want to take a bath… Blood or water, he didn’t really care, as long as it washed off. Though, of course, blood would be preferable…. Even Horo thought it was a bit off to bathe in blood, and considering how it seemed to rarely stick to him… Perhaps it was the clothes he wore; maybe blood would stain the rags he currently wore… Maybe if he stained it intentionally with the blood of his next victim, oh yes! Something he was failing to consider, how would he go about such a thing? He had a nasty knack for picking out the ones who enjoyed retaliation. Well, the answer was quickly clear; he would make up his mind utilizing a quick assessment when he came across the next person fool enough to fight against a monster.

And lo and behold, what he saw amongst the crowd, the people scattering the streets, not wanting some demon to ruin their lives by simply being in the grounds of their home city, he managed to pick out one of which seemed to be the more dangerous choices in the immediate vicinity.

Oh, but of course he would choose such a thing. After all, slaughtering the lambs was only fun for so long; he needed to sate his thirst for bloodshed with the occasional spicy meal, something which had a kick or bite…

He would need to deal with this next target quickly; he was beginning to grow hungry. Two appetites at once was rarely a good thing, it caused him to rush… Hmm, perhaps he should find a good…

“Damnit…” He muttered to himself with his high-pitched demonic voice, its slight echoing following behind as he shoved his hands into his pockets. His cursing wasn’t from lack of funds, but rather a lack of choice. He was in the back-alley section of the most crime-addled areas of Cascadia. Just his luck that hunger would strike soon…

And barring any unforeseen obtrusion to the matter, such as the other person moving out of the way, Ogichi would unknowingly collide with a man he had not chosen as his target, a man by the name of Vyse. Of course, though, Horo would not fall from the collision, but instead glare to him with his golden sadistic and hunger-filled eyes to the man who had gotten in his way, not for getting in the way of a kill, but in his way of getting from this hellhole to find a good meal.

Slaughtering could wait.

Vyse kept his hands on his hilts, he could feel something wrong in the air, someone was nearby, Umbriel was on edge, snarling, her muscles bunching, ready to spring into action at any time. It might just be his paranoia... but he just felt the need to be on guard, his eyes shifting slowly, taking in everything, he called out blindly, "I suggest you show yourself now... to many have tried to assassinate me from the shadows, I've become aware of traps just from looking at the area, no rats, no dust in the area meaning someone was running or walking through here not to long ago, show yourself now." He kept his voice loud and deep, he wanted to just spring into the nearest shadow, cutting, slashing, stabbing, anything to relieve the tension.

He waited there for a moment, never dropping his guard, he slowly lowered his swords a fraction, urging Umbriel to keep on moving, she walked slowly down the alleys, turning several different times, leading Vyse to an old abandoned warehouse, the one he almost killed his father in, the area around it was abandoned to, no one wanted to be near it since it had caught on fire. He felt it again, that need to put up his guard, a trap, an ambush? What was making his instincts go off like this. Umbriel quickly turned, her and her master's back to the old warehouse's walls, snarling and growling at the shadows, something was wrong here, now he just had to wait for it to find him.

As it would seem, as fate’s hand would choose with the roll of the dice, the demon did not bump into the one known as Vyse in the alleys, moving on. The fiend was too focused on quelling his hunger, the hunger which all creatures felt, whether they were about to die or kill, and it was something not so easily ignored. To think, for all of the danger than the pale demon posed to the very world itself, it was still hunger which was found to get the best of him at the most inconvenient times, forcing his hand to feed his mouth rather than coat the streets with blood. Few things had such an affect as to drive him away from slaughtering, but these few things held great power.

Ogichi made his way from the alley he was travelling within, looking about from beneath the rim of his hat, which was surely stolen from the corpse of one of his prior victims; it was almost a frightening thing that he could pass for being nothing more than a normal creature. Even a vigilante part, clearly marked by their probing eyes, itchy-seeming arms, ready to draw their blades, passed him by, not even giving the dirt-looking man a dirty look. Just a bit, not enough to catch their attention, Horo snickered to himself, hidden away beneath the rim of the rough-leathered hat, and he quickly proceeded to go in the opposite direction down the street. After all, his cover being blown wouldn’t particularly help him in getting a nice warm meal that he actually wanted to eat.

Amazing, for all of his madness, he knew when to draw a blade and when to keep it sheathed.

A growling, sort of snarling sound from an alley momentarily piqued his interest, but then the grumbling of his stomach got the better of him, bringing him back to his current quest… no, not a quest, a quest was for heroes, and he was surely no hero by any stretch of the imagination. There had been a cult a number of years ago which viewed him as such, dressing themselves like him, whitening themselves… He killed them all off almost as soon as he had learned of their existence, such was the reason they still weren’t trying to imitate him, save for the hallowed nights when they used his visage to strike fear in one another. That, he let pass, after all, it was the highest-seeming form of utter horror by his existence, it felt good to know that all of his time spent killing random people for no clear reason hadn’t gone solely to entertaining him; it had a profound impact to some members of the world around him.

He stopped for a moment, his heart doing the same.

Suddenly, memories pierced his thoughts; a sigh passed his lips as he thought of familiar faces.

Profound impact…

Lost souls, ones he did not take… He wondered if they were safe, of all things, he worried for the well-being of others. A select few.

A fraction of humanity left over from the life of a man long-dead, dead the day that Horo Ogichi had been born, born of fire and death, the crying of a young infant.

He shook his mind back to insanity, to his hunger which had ceased for that moment. He would need to work his way to the better part of Cascadia for anything worth eating, and so, once again, he began on his way.

Vyse felt nothing once more, he was just being paranoid... he sighed and urged Umbriel to walk forward, it was time to circle around towards the market, then to the richer section of Cascadia. He felt the need to rush a bit, something had him on edge, a little speed wouldn't hurt, Umbriel went off, taking corners slowly, but immediately going back up to a quick trot, keeping up this speed wouldn't tire her out for a while, Vyse just needed to keep his eyes sharp.

He wandered alley through alley, no crimes yet, this would be the first time in a long time that he didn't bring down some fledgling gang or a group of thieves, there was only one possible answer. They were getting smarter. He cursed his luck, he rounded the corner of another alley, almost plowing over someone, he called out, "Whoa, Umbriel, back up!" The tigress growls as she takes a few steps back. Her muscles started to bunch up, Vyse could feel it to, this man in plain brown garb with an odd hat... it felt like he was looking at a predator, hungry for the hunt. His hands strayed towards his hilts, whoever this man was... he was terrifying.

In the fiend’s mind, there was nothing in the world for the time being, nothing worth noting, just obstacles, a map within his mind, a pathway laid out with a dark line towards a few different places to eat, places to stop for a moment, sate one hunger before he sated the other. The debate remained open which was more important, and perhaps it was one that would go on for some time, but he wasn’t particularly about to begin bringing it about to an end, all that would end up doing would be going in circles, no end within sight, one could not be achieved without the other, however one was frequently and repeatedly much more fun than the other.

His mind was too caught up in this trivial matter as he walked down his path, following the invisible line on the road. He almost had collided with a man and his cat, stopping for all of a second, mind snapping from the debate between food and slaughter, from the path to quench the obnoxious feeling within his stomach. The rim of his hat hid the glow of his gold and black eyes while he looked the man over, a cautious one for sure, listening closely to the growling of his cat, a cat which seemed to sense what was hiding beneath the idiotic-feeling disguise. The fiend simply stood there for a moment, several inches taller than the man with the cat.

Perhaps unbeknownst to either of them, it seemed as if fate had corrected itself in bringing forth their meeting.

Slowly at first, a dozen battle plans and strategies passed through the demon’s mind, his fingers stretched out, ready to grab up the handle of his blade hidden beneath his coat. However, the rumbling from his stomach stayed his hand. Hunger seemed to save the life of a potential victim, it seemed.

The thought of random murder was quickly discarded as hunger once more overtook, a slight shrug from the madman as he would turn from the two he had almost slammed into, returning to his path, reclaiming the map, discarding all but the cautious two, fully expecting some attack. This fight, he wasn’t going to instigate, he hungered too much to bother dealing with a man and a cat. Maybe if he got some food, he could turn around, go back and find them, maybe kill them nice and slow, the cat first then the man; severely wound them first to cripple them so they couldn’t fight back, truth be told if it would be so easy to cripple them, it would be a surprising waste of time…

Oh well, he could experiment with those ideas later, throw some things at them and see what stuck.

Vyse felt the need to attack, kill him before he gets killed, his bloodwrath was already raging, he thought to himself, 'Am I already bleeding? No, I'm unwounded... then why does it feel like I'm a cornered animal...' he needed to speak, this man was something different, he should question him just in case, then he noticed he had walked away. He gave chase easily catching up to him, he quickly spouted out his question, "Excuse me sir, care to take off your hat... I am currently searching for a special target, the only sure fire way of finding him... is his eyes, I've seen the posters description, so if you'd just kindly take off your hat I'll be on my way." He knew the man didn't have to, but if he didn't it'd raise his suspicions, if he wasn't the killer he'd take off the hat and show his normal eyes... if he was the man he'd get angry or possibly try to kill him right away before anyone notices.

His grip tightened on his blades, he needed to find out now, if the man was a target then he'd end him swiftly, Umbriel was a dire tiger, he was a proficient swordsman, and an excellent mounted combatant. He waited with baited breath, the man's decision would either start the fight or force Vyse to look elsewhere, either way he would get an answer.

Well, this was already proving quite annoying. The man with the cat seemed to be following the pale fiend. An odd thing, considering how cautious, borderline fearful, that the human seemed to be all of a moment before. So now there was a man and a cat lightly chasing after the demon.

The way that the person talked, it seemed like he was some kind of bounty hunter, great, just what Horo needed, somebody to get in the way of getting to his meal. He stopped for just a moment, still hiding his eyes, but clearly he would be glaring back to the man from beneath his hat. The demon had seen the posters, knew their descriptions of him. They talked about what he looked like, including a nice drawing, a description of his voice, lots of detail, he had to give them credit for that… He would. Well… of course before killing them. A lot of people were going to die by his blade; it was just a matter of time, just not the best of timing for the person who seemed so ready to follow him.

Opening his mouth would surely alert this person to who he was. Sending him through a building or two would alert others, and possibly get the cat to attacking him, which would damage his disguise and make it quite a deal more difficult to get a good meal.

Horo didn’t even dare sigh, simply turning away from the two once more and walking off with another grumble of his stomach, being especially careful not to show an ounce of identity. The two following him could find out who he was when he went back to kill them, if he found them. Nah, they would probably find him later on. However, no matter the case as far as that, they were probably going to keep following him, as a result, the disguised demon would wave them off with a gloved hand, signaling them to leave him alone, he didn’t need the harassment right now, maybe after he got something to eat, sure, but before? Hell no. Though… He had partaken in cannibalism before…

Nah, he didn’t feel up to the taste of his teeth tearing through human flesh… Though the cat could surely taste pretty good fried over a nice fire. However, that would take too much time to cook, and it was already going to take long enough for whatever chef at whatever restaurant to cook up food, and to cook something so big from raw meat, no, the fiend didn’t want to waste more time before getting to his meal.

Vyse felt fairly annoyed, he turned off as he passed an alley, he knew these streets better then most, he'd traveled them countless times looking for smugglers and thieves, he easily used Umbriel's superior speed to dash around him, cutting him off just in time. Vyse stared down at the man, he drew his own blades and pointed the cutlass at him, "Take. Off. The hat." What he was doing was downright stupid, if the man wasn't the man on the poster then he could be charged with a criminal offense... wouldn't be the first time though, he have a lot of explaining to do, a fine to pay, and a night in jail, he'd need to figure out a way to pay the fine though.

His mind almost wandered off, he shook his head, keeping his blade pointed at him, he called out the names of his blades, "Blitz, Sopheur." The cutlass crackled to life, lightning running down his blade as the longsword began to shimmer, glowing with a holy light as the blade seems to become ghost like. He was deadly serious, he wouldn't let the man pass without an answer.

This human… Was clearly an idiot, possibly chosen by the gods of idiocy to be their champion to prove they weren’t so useless to the other gods who actually had an idea what they were doing, who knew better than to just some moron with a cat and a few magical swords. Though, it seemed that the initial, and perhaps only plan, had worked. Drawing the blades, showing off their magic, having that cat so wary, it all managed to stop the disguised demon in his tracks.

And that is when it would pass through his dirtied lips, rimming with that demonic high pitch, that wicked echo to his voice as he merely, simply sighed, lifting his gaze just a bit to show off his golden eyes before he would vanish, something that would seem to take all of an instant as he would reappear behind the foolish human with the sound of low-pitched grounding, ringing out as loud as it could, continuing on in the bastardized version of the black tongue. The version of the black tongue was his way of using magic, his fingers clenching into a fist as he shot it out, the motion all of a blur as his knuckled would swiftly connect with the lower back of the human with force that could rival a dragon’s, to send him flying and cause as much damage as possible, swiftly followed the pale fiend would turn about, bringing his leg up to connect with the massive cat’s form, relying on the mixture of his draconic might and the speed of his blur to knock it back, and with the expected force, it was sure to be quite a bit. All of this would take place in less than ten seconds, that’s all he needed, and he wouldn’t even make sure that either of them were crippled, vanishing quickly with another roaring low-grind as he would appear several dozen feet down the road, returning to walking down, his hunger reminding him of his mission, his journey to get some food. He didn’t want to deal with some idiot and his pet before having a good lunch. Maybe after something…

Hmm, but what?

The fiend began to wonder this, himself. What was he going to get, anyway? Perhaps some sweet potatoes and meat? Or pork or beef, maybe some chicken. So many options, so many meals. It was a good thing for him to start thinking this over before he chose a restaurant. Well, at any rate, once he got to where the restaurants were, he could make his decision.

Vyse was stunned, he was laying on the ground, Umbriel was just getting up from the kick, limping slightly to her Master, Vyse gave her a confused look, he was seeing double a bit, maybe it was best to just lay here for a while. He felt his mind fading as he passed out into a dreamless dark sleep.

It was an hour later, he woke up, looking around to see Ratt and Umbriel guarding his body, Ratt tapped his foot and gave him a note, running away into the shadows, disappearing. He shrugged, Ratt must have been in a hurry, he looked at a note, they were directions to where Ogichi was heading, the market district. Vyse was startled, he had to be already there by now, it was just a matter of time before he started killing everyone. He hopped onto Umbriel's back, heading towards the market district, he only hoped that he hadn't started to kill anyone yet.

An odd day for Ogichi, only having killed two people, obviously not the cat and the idiot, he wasn’t even trying to kill them. Though they would probably both be rather injured after his last encounter with them, he didn’t need to kill them, not yet. And besides, the main reason they were spared from the usual demise that the pale fiend would inflict upon just about any other idiot who would hold the same gall was because he was currently too hungry. Would that be a good thing or a bad thing, Ogichi wondered, to be spared by the hunger of another. To him, it seemed there was no loss of pride for surviving against impossible odds no matter what, but then again he couldn’t say a word to the pride of others, just attest to his own, make sure that he didn’t fall to such entrapments, though he was sure he already had.

It was a bit under an hour ago that Horo had found a place he wanted to eat at, a light airy atmosphere carried itself about the interior of the building; it seemed to have friendly non-invasive waiting staff, food that smelled heavenly, a bit pricey but it wasn’t anything that Ogichi couldn’t afford, besides, he spared no true expense when it came to food, it was one of very few things more important to him than slaughter, he had finally decided, especially after tasting the restaurant’s delicious shepherd’s pie.

The demon tipped generously, moving from his table and out the door, the light smile returned to his face with a full stomach as he looked out and from beneath the rim of his hat, feeling as he did when he visited the underworld of the drow. And then he remembered something… Something he couldn’t even bother uttering.

They had rules here, laws they called them. Something about no killing and destroying things, which meant that he wasn’t too particularly welcome here… or anywhere else “civilized” by that matter. After all, killing and destroying were his two favorite things to do in every city and village of the world. Ah, a fleeting dream, he had remembered why exactly he was walking around to begin with. Yes, he would have to find somebody to kill, to leave in just enough of a dried husk that nobody could mistake the fact that it was indeed he who brought about the unfortunate creature’s end, just to remind him he was lurking in the shadows, ready to leap out at them at any given moment… Hmm, maybe he would kill two instead of just one, really just drive the point home so that there was no room for misinterpretation.

Unfortunately, before the demon got very far, his golden eyes caught sight of an odd thing, an odd thing which brought a groan to his lips as he turned away from it with hopes of just walking off before they noticed him. The idiot and his dumb cat seemed to be about the market, even if Ogichi weren’t planning on killing somebody, which he totally was, after all, he was committed by this point, he really didn’t the intrusion of the champion of stupidity and his most-likely flea-ridden companion.

Ogichi stopped for a moment, a thought striking his mind for a moment as he remembered something…

Huh, maybe that could work…

Vyse looked frantically from side to side, looking for the man, he couldn't find him, though he did find an on duty guard, he strode up beside him, grabbing his shoulder, "I saw Horo Ogichi, yes, and lived, for some reason all he did was punt my cat and knock me out, I think he might be after someone specific to murder or to murder say... the entire marketplace, I suggest you tell the guards and seal off the market place for now, he's wearing brown clothing a wide brimmed hat, go!" The guard nodded, it was to dangerous not to follow the advice of others when it came to Ogichi.

Vyse slowly creeped through the crowd on Umbriel, looking for Ogichi, he looked on to see plenty of people, though he couldn't spot Ogichi. He growled in frustration as he saw guards start to line the streets, inspecting everyone that came pass just in case Ogichi had changed his disguise. 'He might have moved on by now...' He though, then he saw it, the brown clothes and the hat, it was Ogichi. He urged Umbriel forward, calling out to him, "Halt! Horo Ogichi!" The crowd's faces paled as they scattered from the Dire Tigress's charge, it was time to finally take down the murderer. Umbriel's claws slashed at his back as his cutlass cut at his neck while his longsword was thrust at his shoulder, he needed the first hit.

Ogichi gave out a long sigh, seeing the guards moving into position, seeing the cat and its rider stalking about through the crowds, such an obnoxious thing, but no! He wasn’t about to reveal his presence just because the idiot decided it was time! Already Horo was a fiend controlled by none other than himself, and he wasn’t about to start by taking order from an idiot and his overgrown cat! The demon committed himself to hiding amongst the dense crowd, hunching slightly to avoid being seen, hoping that the idiot wouldn’t see him. Who knew, maybe before killing somebody Ogichi was planning on seeing what else this city had to offer, after all, it was none for its art.

And then he could hear the call as it rang out, oh yes, the call of an idiot amongst a crowd riding on a big cat, calling out the demon’s name, completely announcing that he was going to attack. The fiend peered over his shoulder to see…

To see…

It took ever last ounce of his willpower, every last bit of his self-control, every minute piece of his very small sanity not to laugh at the sight. Barreling through a thick crowd of people was the idiot, charging… but not at the demon, for the demon was not the only one wearing brown clothes and a wide-brimmed hat. And so did the demon watch as an unsuspecting man was slaughtered for a case of mistaken identity.

Every drop of blood in his body, every muscle, ever cell within his brain was telling him to begin laughing at the sight, to laugh maniacally, but thankfully he ignored every last one of them. As funny as the sight was, he needed to duck out and away from the crowd, and luckily he had found just such a way to do it, finding an alley currently unmolested by guards, but for how long would that last? The demon wasn’t about to sit about and find out, ducking into the alley, hearing the still-screams of the people at seeing a rather human man slaughtered amongst the crowd.

As much as the demon may have truly loved to stay and to watch the fallout of such an event, he didn’t want to get caught just yet. Maybe he would find and tip a bard for a song… or maybe a bard would be his first kill, it all depending on if the song was any good or not.
