Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

It was just the day to start. She examined her journal extensively before jamming the book back into its hiding place. Her plan was solid, yet it was all reliant on one massive gamble. She supposed she had a lot going for her when it came to attracting her assistance. She was young, attractive, and asking for help in killing a bad man with a large bounty on his head. She double checked her clothing and then stumbled out of her apartment. Humid air licked around her inadequately thin and ratty clothes, dirty hair flicked into the air. It made her squirm, she was destined for so much more.

With a leap, Lumi sailed from the second floor balcony to the damp ice beneath. She darted down the streets, meeting with small groups of interested people. They knew their parts, they trusted her. She gathered trust whenever she could, it was such a precious and under-appreciated resource. Little moves had brought her a group that was willing to press her plan to completion. She entered the main street even as her groups walked down alleys. Lumi wove between the crowds, entering beneath the balcony of a large structure. It was a famous tavern, mostly for the crowds of mercenaries who gathered within. She pressed against the sturdy door, eyes on the intricate carvings of knots. The door creaked open, allowing voices to escape. The atmosphere was jovial as ever, mercenaries drinking, arguing, and interacting. It was one of the few places a sell sword could be social and accepted. The building itself was structured around a central skylight, letting in enough light for those who wanted to be seen, but leaving the corners and edges concealed. She moved across the structure, with guffaws pointed at her slim frame as she advanced to the bounty board. She ripped one off the edges, one that had never been torn off before even though its corners were curled with age. More laughter followed, but even more eyes fell on her.

Lumi stepped into the middle of the room. She kicked a chair back and stepped onto it, and from there to the top of the central table. Her feet delicately placed between mugs and the haunches of some beast, bathed in the light of Striberg's miserable sun, she spoke.

"I ask for one to help me kill Jov Kord. He has harmed my family, and our city, indelibly." Lumi declared, her voice filling the whole structure. The voices stopped, drinks rested on their tables. There were a few snickers, but none dared to stand. She had expected this, Kord was the leader of a powerful crime family. Her plan could proceed without the assistance of a few mercs, but it would be riskier by far.

"He will die on this day, mark my words, but will the reward not be better shared?" Lumi continued. She stretched the bounty sheet out, adjusting it to catch the most light possible. Her eyes roved over it before they caught the price.

"Ten thousand Striberg marks dead. I'll split it evenly amongst those who help, and I'm sure even just five hundred marks is more than enough to travel to the warm south and purchase a farm. Gentlemen, ladies, I offer a chance at retirement, at escaping Striberg, escaping your lives where every breath is spent dodging another's steel."Lumi finished. Unsurprisingly, none stood. She had been counting on some lovely little paladin to rise to the challenge, without thinking. Thinking kept them in their seats, thinking told them that one silly girl wasn't much help against a man like Kord. They were incorrect.

A man rushed out of the tavern. Lumi's smile widened as her plan began to come to fruition. Reversing his own security on him! He'd never see it coming.

Drinking wasn't her thing. Not after that one night in a Dwarvern City, during a party no doubt. She couldn’t remember everything but surely it didn’t bode well. Now, when in taverns and such she limited herself to gambling and watching drunken people act stupid. Now gambling was a big problem and yet she had a problem saying no if she had the chance to win money. Money that she didn’t need of course, but there was just something about it. Addicting one could say, maybe one just felt more secure in a monetary society with money.

Evals now sat at a table inside of one of Striberg’s taverns. She had little money left, mostly for the fact that the grown men in her probably couldn’t take full advantage of a young girl attempting to gamble. They let her walk away with what little she had left, even though she didn’t want to. Grumbling to herself quietly, at the same table as her sat someone who had been drinking way too much. Yet he was just being bubbly and loud, no harm to anyone and not himself yet. Sadly.

Of course if anyone got a good look of Evals they would probably deem her as a monster or some kind of heathen of unholy arts. Yet right now she couldn’t be mistaken for anything as such from her appearance. The magic of polymorphing had turned her into a living Human for now. It was a habit of hers when interacting in heavy populated areas. Un-tanned white skin covered her exposed flesh, brown and unkempt hair covered her head and blue eyes scanned across the room in her annoyance. Yet something caught her eyes’ attention when it spoke up in the near middle of the tavern. She adjusted herself in her seat when everyone quieted down to listen.

The situation was being unfolded. This woman wanted to bring in some man for injustices he did to her family. What was his name, she missed it. Jod Korv? Jov Kord? Kov Jord? Something to the like that. The room was mostly silent now. The woman spoke up again to push her point further, Evals assumed. Reward? Now the zombie was much more interested. Earn back what she lost today maybe? Try and not lose it in another gambling spree? Maybe they should just make Child Gambling Laws or something so she wouldn’t be allowed to gamble; as if that would stop her from doing it, though. Yet, ten thousand marks was a lot. Evals wanted it all; even half would be good for her. Five thousand compared to her ten. It was a grand increase.

After the woman was done speaking, nobody stood up; surprisingly. Evals reached into her pocket quickly. This was going to look awkward but… Evals stood up and raised her hand. “I’ll help.” She declared. A lot more laughs were heard than when the woman first spoke up. She shook her head at them. “I may look young but I know some magic, it could be helpful.” She said but before anything more could be said one of the men nearby her spoke up. “That did’n help ya save your moneh, did’t now?” He said and the people at his table started to laugh. They were annoying. Evals started to walk towards the center of the room; of course she wouldn’t be taken seriously. She threw down the material inside of her hand at the table of the offender as she walked by. Next thing that could happen was an explosion came off of the table. The explosion was rainbow colored and very bright. Anyone looking directly at it would surely be blinded for a small amount of time. The table was scorched and everything that was on it was knocked off or burnt up in the rapid explosion.

Evals continued to the center of the room. By the time she got to the table the recruiter was standing at, she turned to face everyone and then yelled at them. “You’re all just pigeon livered and lack gall! Right now I’m easily worth ten of you. Go ahead, prove me wrong.” Evals turned back to the woman and waited to see if she would say anything. If the child looking person would be rejected flat out or not, if she be accepted.
