Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Vyse nodded, he just had to whistle and the fight would start, he moved slowly across field, still wearing the chain hauberk and helmet, he moved quickly, not exactly going into a run, but faster then a jog. He got as close as he could before stopping, he didn't need the captain to identify him yet. The captain called out, "Where's Kenneth? Why are you here alone?" He sounded nervous, good, then it was time to lower his guard.

Vyse disguised his voice roughly, making it drop an octave as he spoke in a thick accent, "I can nae say wha' happened to tha Cap'n he juss told me ta' come over here and ta' see if ya got the shipments ready for us men ta' carry." The guard captain gave him a funny look and then shook his head, "Good, good... it's all here in this crate behind us, now go report back to Kenneth, we need this done now." He turned to talk to the other two men, the corner of his eyes constantly staring at him.

Vyse smirked as he took off his helmet, revealing who he was, the captain opened his mouth and reached for his axe, Vyse gave a loud and clear whistle as he drew his own blades, swords met axe, it would be a hard fought battle.

Logan was rather surprised at Vyse's continued use of his disguise. Quite frankly, the ranger expected the young man to maybe confront the captain outright and possibly try and get a confession out of him. No matter, after a short bit Vyse gave the signal and charged the captain, who drew his battleaxe.

Logan spared no time; after tossing aside his cloak, Logan made a full leap out of the tree toward to the two bodyguards, who were preparing to use their bows against Vyse. Unfortunately, they didn't turn to see Logan bearing down on them from above, and they paid dearly for their inattentiveness.

The ranger pressed his feet down on the first man's shoulders, causing him to collapse and his spine to snap from the stress instantly. This also served the purpose of cushioning his fall and immediately shift his attention to the other man, who was startled by Logan's sudden arrival. The man fumbled for his shortsword after dropping his bow, but Logan had already closed and thrust Thrae straight through his chest, killing him in an instant.

After pushing the man off of his sword with his foot, Logan turned his attention to Vyse and the battle he was having with the skilled, if old, captain. The ranger would be prepared to step up if Vyse fell, but he was confident the young warrior could bring the corrupt captain down.

Vyse fought on, axe and blades meeting over and over again, he wasn't sure if the old man's strength would fade first or his own blades would shatter. Thrusting, slashing, dodged, that's all he could do during the fight, nothing special, Vyse decided to speed up. His blades moving faster and faster, forcing the old guard captain to go on the defensive, using his axe haft to ward off the blows as Vyse slowly gains ground, pushing him back.

The guard captain realized the fight was against him, he either needed to somehow kill Vyse quickly or somehow get away, or else the other warrior, who he noticed quite easily killed his two bodyguards, would end him. He took a desperate swing, trying to cleave right through Vyse's neck. Vyse ducked it, dashing in, sending both of his blades into his stomach, he ripped them up and out to opposite sides, letting a spray of blood and gore splash to the ground.

Vyse sighed, the chief was dead, he took the hauberk and cloak off, it was time for him to go. He nodded at Peacemaker as he started walking, "Thanks for your help today, but I should be going, me and Umbriel need to run before they suspect us for killing them all, I'll of course, leave all of the evidence in to another guard captain, but for now I need to find Umbriel. Goodbye Peacemaker, it was nice meeting, and fighting alongside you." He moved on towards the woods, all he'd need to do was call for her, and she'd come running.

"Remember the stuff you left at my tent, Vyse," Logan said, catching up to Vyse as they left the clearing. Cleaning and sheathing Thrae, Logan stopped and retrieved his guardsman cloak and threw it around his shoulders, for it would provide a decent cover for him to get back and gather his supplies. Logan stopped when they cleared the forest and saw the refugee camp a short distance away; the ranger extended his hand to Vyse in a gesture of trust and friendship.

"I thank you for doing what was right, Vyse," Logan said, "It's good to see that there are still some people with a sense of justice even during these hard times. You've earned the right to know my real name, at the very least: My name is Logan Pathwalker. Perhaps we may meet again someday." Logan then waited for Vyse to shake his hand. Whether he did or not, the ranger would then move toward his campsite, leading Vyse there if he decided to follow.

After gathering his belongings and donning his longcoat, Logan left the tent he'd borrowed and lay Vyse's belongings on a stool near the campfire, which he then doused before setting off back toward the forest, probably to lay low in Norwood or some other city for a time before the heat blew over.

OoC: I guess you can now make your last post before we declare this topic done and I'll submit this topic to the GRP topic for our rewards...

Vyse grasped his hand, "It was an honor Logan, may we meet again." He quickly let go, turning to walk back towards the woods, the flash of orange caught his eye, he ran to Umbriel, mounting her quickly, urging her to move back to Logan's camp. He kept to the forest, riding fast to Logan's camp. He quickly picked up his clothing and anything else he left behind, now all he needed to do was drop off the papers at the guard's station.

He rode on Umbriel all the while, keeping low against her as to not slow her down. When she stopped he quickly ran inside, placing the information on the desk, now it was time to go. He walked out into the night, mounting Umbriel, he urged her onwards and out of the camp, Cascadia would be his next stop. He wondered though, would he really meet Logan again, probably not, though it was nice thinking he made a new friend, stopped his father, and even earned the trust of that friend.
