| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

"Why choose friend Vyse? We take them both!" I turned towards the bandits with crossbows, I just needed to close the gap to render them useless. A light jump across the pews landed me in their midst, immediately I lashed out, my sparking blade arced out and found the throught it sought. "You interupted our sparring, I hope you know the price!" I kept my head low to the ground as I pressed my assult on the three remaining, always watchful of the other four. |

Vyse smirked, he liked how his new friend though, he used the pews as hurdles, leaping over them, charging the ones equipped with melee weapons, landing on the back of the last pew, he jumped onto one, slamming his foot into his chest as he lands. His swords flash, cutting the chest of one and the throat of another. 'One dead, one wounded' thought Vyse as his blades started to move, spinning, arcing, leaping from target to target. His foes were strong, sure, but not skilled. With a low sweep Vyse took them off balance as one jumped over his blade, hoping to catch him off guard, but only met with a cutlass in the stomach. Vyse ripped the blade out of him, ripping to the side to allow the blood to spatter on his face slightly. His bloodwrath had awakened. Letting out a beastial roar with his war cry, "None can defeat the Noclan!" He moved on, his movements changing dramatically, his swords started raining down quick, even if they got a guard up it seemed to be pointless. His swords were maneuvering around the defenses at a ridiculous speed, moving little by little as it falls. The blades looking like lightning as they fall. Vyse moved to the last two, badly wounded from his strikes to non-vital areas. He grimaced, he was aware during the bloodwrath, he wanted to stop but he just couldn't. His sword's wearing singing the song of death as they carved up the last two, killing them quickly, but only the killing blow could be called clean. The bloodwrath faded as the excitement of battle left him, he looked over to his new friend to see how he was doing. |

The music was alive in me now, fully filling me and leaving my ind free of the shackles of fear and doubt, I spun tearing my blade horizontally from the neck of the man I had just slain straight into the neck of another, his head was cut clean off. One of the remaining two came from behind me and attempted to bludgeon me with his cumbersome weapon, he struck air, and began to topple as I cut his legs out from under him. The last man had loaded his crossbow for a second shot, he sighted and fired, with lightning reflexes I dropped flat to the ground, the missle soaring harmlessly over me, then sprang forward and up landing neatly behind him. He clutched his side and staggered, the slice was clean betwixt his ribs, the bleeding would be fatal. I stalked over to the man who's legs had been cut out and leaned close, "Who sent you?" I hissed. He laughed and pulled a dagger and took his own life. I swore, then sighed, naught could be done now. "Vyse, how fare you friend? You are unwounded?" I looked around quickly and began to search for any retreating figures from the few windows. |

"I am fine friend, I am sorry that I got you caught up in this small struggle, it would have been a problem if the blasted Drachma the Black had hired a mage or two, but thank goodness he's a tightwad." Vyse didn't mean to speak as if he was familiar with the man, but it was pointless now and from what he said all his new friend would know is that he's after a man named Drachma the Black. "Well I guess this is my time to leave, you should go to, more will come in greater numbers. Probably with real soldiers instead of this rabble." He was pretty sure it would happen, after all, he had lost count on when he decided to rest near the battleground and only be caught up in a fight with even more bandits or marauders. "Goodbye my friend, may we meet again in the future and finish our match, though next time will be different, I can feel it." Vyse neared the door, waiting for any response from his new friend. |

I walked back to gather my things, and found them undisturbed. "Well I am a wanderer, I have been...shunted from every village, and farm I have come across, I can cook, I can fight, and" I trilled off a lively ditty on my flute, "I can entertain on the road, so what would you say to a travelling companion?" I looked up, expecting the same as I've always gotten, I still hadn't lost hope. Hope was all I had. |

"... You don't want to walk with me friend, I should tell you now, I'm a corruption Hunter... I murder those who hide behind their power and abuse the laws of the land to commit crimes. If you want to travel with a man who works in the darkness and kills those outside of the law. Then you can walk with me until we part ways." Vyse smirked, he hadn't had a traveling partner since his meeting with Bael. It would be nice to walk with someone who knew what he was. "Just remember, if you decide to travel with me, be there will be bandits, soldiers, mages, just about any enemy you can think of if Drachma really wants me dead." Vyse was telling his new friend this to discourage him, if he truly wanted to travel with him, he should know what to expect. |

"There is not a single one of those types of men who would not given the chance kill the 'Beast Man'. If you think you are hunted by those who work for one man who means you harm then you should learn what it is to be hunted by all those who simply see you. I have gone for two years without a companion, it is a wonder I did not lose my ability to speak." I paused, tail swishing reflectively as my ears twitched. "How would you like to wake every day with the uncertantiy of life? This is what I have only known." |

"That about sums up my every day life, though I fear no man, for none can kill the Noclan." Vyse was serious, he had woken up every day thinking he would have a knife at his throat. He had to live on, but he refused to show fear, only caution. "I suggest you go to Cascadia, while your kind may be rare, Cascadians seem to be rather tolerant. The city guard there is pretty clean corruption wise. I'm heading there myself, if you wish to travel there with me, we should get moving". Vyse didn't mind having a companion until Cascadia, it would be good to have someone watch his back until he makes it there. Vyse fully opened the door, looking out into the weather, it was drizzling but not storming, their tracks would be hidden well enough. "We should move quickly, they'll get suspicious soon if their people don't come back." Vyse waited at the roadside, he knew they had plenty of time, but he would rather leave now, just in case. |

"Ah, Cascadia? I recall being thrown out of an outlying village before I even made it there. Nonetheless I shall gladly accompany you." With my belongings in tow I set up a brisk trot for the door and began to head down the road. 'Perhaps I will make something of this journey, maybe even find something to dedicate myself to...' |
