Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

The sun had been up long enough that it was probably around noon. The blonde couldn't quite recall how long she'd been wandering about the lands, or how she'd come to find this place of ruin. It was apparent that a cathedral had once stood there, and she could only hope that this meant a moment's peace. It all seemed so sad, to her, though not because it had been in shambles for what seemed to be hundreds of years, but because it was black and white. For someone supposedly descended from Celestial beings, you'd think she'd be able to see the vibrant colors of the world, yet this is where she lacked. Stained glass windows - or what was left of them - could be seen in various areas, and the sight of the disheveled and rotten pews gave her a bit of unrest. Even for an ancient city, could nothing have been done to keep the cathedral in good health? A sigh escaped the rosy lips of the woman as she sat upon a pile of rubble, placing Hera - her longsword - at her side. It was quiet, and exactly how she liked it.

Nothing but the rustling of leaves from trees nearby, and birds that flew overhead, could be heard. It made her feel loud with every breath she took, but it didn't matter. She could not detect any nearby presences that could threaten her, and for now, she would rest her legs. Traveling was not an easy task, especially when she was jobless and without companions. She'd decided long ago that she wanted no one at her side, since they all only seemed to be hurt in some way. As she closed her silvery eyes, she recalled the very last person she'd cared about. He had traveled with her for so long, and had made the mistake of giving her the affections of a lover, only to be met by an untimely death - a terrible accident - by her own sword. Magic had been the reason, Sachaa having had been placed under some sort of spell, acting on another's will, and that will had been done. The thought was forced from her head as her eyes snapped open, rising to her feet to take a look around the area. Sachaa took the sheath that contained Hera, and fastened it to her belt, kicking around stones and touching what she could, as if she had been there before it had fallen. Of course she hadn't, but there was something drawing her there. Something she couldn't quite explain.

"You must have been so wonderful before you had fallen..."

The sun on his back, the birds chirping on the outskirts of town, this might have been a luxury if Fuin was alive. Instead this was agonizing, even with the sun on his back he felt cold, the scent of his flesh as it was heating up made him consider taking a break before reaching the town. This village was in Ruins, he had once heard this was an ancient city. Now it is simply the next stop for Fuin, the undead rogue.

As he walked his boots dragged across the ground knocking dirt into the air. He used to be more careful, but since his death his outlook and perspective changed quite a bit. One arm holding the sleeve of his battered shirt. The other hand laying on the hilt of his dagger. Though it was small it has been with him through countless situations. As he reached the city he realized how much rubble there was. He suddenly became alert, his green eyes peering in every direction to detect a possible ambush. Instincts kicking in he began cautiously entering the city.

What a dump, I should look for supplies and leave.

Fuin entered the fallen city eyes open to the world around him.

(OOC: Posting as Jin on my Draco account to lazy to change accounts..Will eventually switch to Jin. We should also make this a first meeting. No previous topic relations.)

Why!? Oh why me! I always have to gander off out here. Same month every year. The damn place is always dead. No one even goes near the ruins, let alone find the time to look at them. Oh hey look a pile of rocks, sheesh. I wasn't even assigned with my other men. This outfit is starting to itch and it's hot! What a bad day.

The dry dirt road stretched wide as it trimmed the freshly cut green grass. A few more feet and he'd find his way over the hill and looking at the pile of rubble. It was a sad thought to him however, the pain it must of caused the community to lose such a well built church. His mother had once told him the ancient ruin church was the most extravagant of Imythess.

Atop the hill stood a man in uniform blue and white with gold trimming around his collar. His blond hair caught a slight breeze, tickling the air with a swimming motion, hair fluttering in the wind. The air was cool and soft, with it came a lavender smell. The smell sank into his nose as Jin walked towards the entrance to the ruins. The gravel crunched under his boots as he smiled up at the bright blue sky.

His blue eyes shined back at the sun as his gaze met a solid white cloud in the shape of a unpleasant reaper. Looking down to the road he toppled rock after rock by kicking his feet about, dirt following after the rocks. Jin continued forward when he reach the first empty building. Leaning forward near the window he looked inside. The dark rotten wood decayed, lifeless plants left over from ageless years ago. Pushing his hands off the window he continued for the chapel, mumbling under his breath.

"Freaking place is worthless to investigate. Have I not made it clear to them, I hate patrolling this area when nothing else is going on. Unappreciated Jin, your simply unappreciated."

Talking to himself caused bird chirping to dissipate, a sound Jin hated.

(OoC: Sounds peachy to me.)

Sachaa would have kept speaking openly to herself if she hadn't sensed two others suddenly heading her way. Whirring around with her hand on the hilt of Hera, she spied two coming from two opposite sides. One looked....terribly out of shape, while the other seemed quite regal. How would this play out? Should she run? Hide? She wasn't exactly a shield-maiden. Instead of drawing her sword or opting to send some sort of attack of self-defense their way, she simply sat where she stood, crossing her legs. She could wait to see what became of this.

This seems so stupid. Why am I just going to sit here like a fool? Well...hell, at least one of them looks somewhat promising. The other is anyone's guess. A rogue, he seems to be, or...something. Goodness, Sash, why must you always do nothing? Maybe one day I'll finally settle and get a job. That would be nice. No more messing with others who could be complete psychopaths, for all I know.

She shook her head and punched at her arm as she thought about this, and would soon just await their approach. Better she not start anything, it would keep the peace, especially in a place that would appear to have seen so much in it's days. If it were destroyed more than it already was, that would be an utter disgrace, and she wouldn't be able to forgive herself.

The blonde flipped her hair behind her shoulders, leaning her head back against the wind. She could at least enjoy the breeze while it lasted. It smelled nice; like fresh grass and lavender, and a hint of something else she couldn't quite put her finger on. Was it water? Rain? She looked to the sky, bringing a hand to shield her eyes from the sun. Welp, that was unfortunate. Sachaa, even at twenty-four, still hadn't realized that no matter what she did, she couldn't really tell a stormcloud from a regular cloud. She was completely useless. At least most of what she did didn't rely on her having to know colors.

His name was Yathar Rajin, coming from the north he strode with pride, purpose, arrogance. Not really feeling challenged he walked this world uncontested. His Charcoal skin was a mark given to him from birth, showing the world he was a Fire Genasi. As his ancestors before him, he wore this proudly on his sleeve. The crimson shirt really brought out the red in his eyes. Usually they would appear dull unless he was enraged. His black hair carried the smell of coal wherever he went. His brown pants scrapped across the dirt path as he approach the ancient civilization that now lie in ruins.

Maybe I should have left a tip at the pub, nah the other guy can pay for it he provoked me anyways. I feel like I am going to cross paths with others. This could be fun.

Naara, the name given to him by and elven chieftain meaning to burn, was his Alias. Unlike other Genasi that may try to disguise themselves in fear their element will be revealed Naara showed it proudly. His train of thought was if they had the guts to advance knowing his specialty, they better have water to put out the fire. Approaching the outskirts Naara began to consider what was to come of this long walk of the beaten path.

Acknowledging many people gathering the the ruins man him feel uneasy. He had not been himself for a while. Looking at the last standing building in the ancient ruins the church. From the steeple a site that would behold the utmost beauty awaited, though he wasn't sure if it was worth him risking confrontation for. Perhaps he would simply leave and return when they had gone.

Whatever supplies this place had would now have been raided by the present and incoming beings. The odds wasn't even the problem, The simple lack of motivation, interest, challenge, Fuin stopped dead in his tracks. A slight breeze began to coat his vessel. His eyes meeting his open palm that had left the hilt of his weapon. Maybe it was time he go back to his old life. Secrecy, assassinations, being invisible. With that Fuin looked up admiring the church with such passion knowing he shall not return to see it again. Than he was gone, like a feather in the wind he left, as silent as the night sky Fuin had left, his whereabouts....unknown.

Jin's feet began to kick the gravel about the rocky road as he slowly made his way to the chapel. His head was tilted down as he watched his feet cause the mayhem. Dirt kicked up, only this time creating a dry sand cloud. His vision turned from his feet to the open land, filled with buildings leaning and destroyed. The rubble from the ruins was so great it reached the road. The as if the dullness of his day had exploded a woman came to his sight. His crystal bright blue eyes stuck on her.

Her posture held kindness and with it a irritating vibe. Her legs were long and well taken care of, at least from the distant Jin stood at. Smiling and walking faster towards her, he placed his left arm on the hilt of his blade, Brittney is what he named her. The sword was unmatched in beauty, it's maker none other then Jin's father. Strolling forward with a light stride came to the first torn down pillar. Losing view of the gracious woman from before, jumped over the pillar and landed safely on the other side. His blond hair weaving in the small breeze that nature instilled for the the day.

The it struck him, a faint smell of rain, rusty and calm. Looking up to the sky the clouds engulfed the sun's radiant shine. Focusing back on the sight of the beautiful woman from afar ran through things to say in his mind, one stuck out well.

Smooth Jin, Think of something smooth to say. I know. Hey babe, you from Tennessee? Cause your the only Ten I see. Ha Oh man that's so gonna work.

Approaching her from a few hundred yards his stride held confidence, unaware of the disaster that awaited him if he said his genius line.

The woman watched as the regal blonde made his way toward her, jumping over a pillar, his heart seemingly set on approaching her. Her eyes fell on his hand, which no doubt rested on the hilt of his blade. This made her uneasy, her own hand moving to Hera, just in case. Her eyes would look over, seeing that the other, who'd also been heading toward them, was now gone. She stood, brushing herself off now that she felt far less threatened. Sachaa knew that if this approaching man somehow felt the need to attack her, she could handle herself, but two? She didn't trust her skills that much.

The blonde turned on her heel, beginning to walk toward the man in his uniform. She couldn't yet tell that another was approaching, since her attention was now on this handsome, young....she shook her head.

No, no, Sash. Don't you dare....but he's handsome....no. Stop. Get a hold of yourself. You can't go swooning over every uniformed fellow you see!

A sigh escaped her. This probably wasn't very good. The pep to his step was rivaling her own, but, perhaps this wouldn't be a bad thing. It was always nice to talk and have company, if only for a little while, right? Right! Suddenly, she didn't feel so bad. Her hand moved from the hilt of her blade, hoping to show that she generally did not mean any sort of issue or altercation, and the other waved to him. It never hurt to kill with kindness, it seemed that was what she was best at. It usually got her into trouble, unfortunately.

"Hello, there!"

Alright next time you cause a disturbance you can pay for it...haha you almost fooled yourself. Loser pays and I am never in that category

Naara's head was held high, glancing at his surroundings he noticed a faint sent, as if someone was here before him. Intrigued he began following it to the heart of the city. Than as quick as it had came it vanished, the steps of that who walked before him was gone. That didn't bother him, he was having a good day, aside from a headache that came on from the annoying chirping of the birds. Luckily they seemed to fade as he pressed deeper into the city. There it was the Cathedral, tall and stunning it's presence brought security and hope to those that were in it's aura.

Do my eyes deceive me or is that a couple? Not the venue I would have chosen for a romantic get away but hey to each their own.

As he closed the distance between them he began drawing some perceptive conclusions. The fellow seemed to be an officer. The uniform was unmistakable and could never be confused for anything else. The woman on the other hand looked mesmerizing, but too goodie goodie, everyone who knows Naara knows the type of women he goes for.

Hopefully he is not here about the pub, I left early enough come on... I am a Genasi my luck can't be that bad. Are they both reaching for weapons? That's a weird way to flirt again, not my problem.

As he approached he simply stopped ten feet away and crossed his arms. Not feeling a hostile vibe from either he decided to relax a bit.

"Great venue i was going to rent it but it was booked all summer, you must have connections right?"

His zesty stride of confidence was then torn down, torn like the gracious cathedral before the three of them. The ruling voice of another broke his lovely eye contact with the adorning creature before him. She was so limber and cute, manners like a mother. Jin froze, something he was easily capable of. Immediately stopping, Jin's eyes reached the new character before them. Unsure if he was nervous about the girl or suspicious of the new visitor his face showed mixed emotions. His Blues eyes stuck on the gray skin of what seemed like a Fire Genasi. His physique was muscular and his attitude showed sarcasm.

Jin turning away from him lightly smiled, he could easily dispose of him. After all Ice was Fire's counter part. Jin looking back to the lovely woman he silenced the other man's quite dull humor.

"Hello, Miss, I mean surely Mrs. Excuse my bad manners. The name is Jin Kisaragi, Captian of The Gurren Brigade at your service. I must say what a fine outfit you have on."

Jin announcing his name with pride as he clear voice sank into the damp air. His eyes shifting to the other man, politely bowing towards her. His blonde hair just grazing the corner of his eye. Jin bending just at the waist again, placing his free arm over his stomach, bowing towards him. His posture regained a standing comfort. His smile stuck about his face, his thoughts scrambling for every possible situation.

I can already tell this guys trouble, Oh my god she's so cute! Eek! Jin! Calm down. She actually said Hello! She likes me! Oh man wait till mom hears the news! Breathe Jin. This guy looks just as bad as the others. He's a Fire Genasi by just looking at him. What trouble could he be against the God of Ice, Heh. Jin just handle the outcome as it comes.

Looking back to the sweet woman before him he found it in his shy body to ask.

"Your name, love?"

His sweet voice slicing through the air like cupids arrow.

Sachaa turned to face the grey-skinned man that approached him, which didn't seem out of the ordinary for her, thankfully. No, that wasn't good. The man wore an interesting expression, but soon she turned back to the Captain, who had frozen, but regained his former composure. Her cheeks became a deep red, beginning to shake her head vigorously, her hands moving in negative gestures.

"Oh, no, no, no. I'm not married."

A chuckle came from her, as he commented on her outfit, and she wondered if she should have acted in an opposite manner. He seemed innocent with his words, which was unfortunate for her if it was not true. She'd look to her feet, then back toward the Genasi that was approaching them, closing the gap between them. She hoped there wouldn't be any trouble. It had been a long time since she had a normal conversation.

Sachaa's eyes returned to Jin as he began to speak, once more, asking her name. She thought for a moment, finding herself blanking on her own name.

Oh, dear, woman, you've done it this time. Calm down. Why do I need to be panicking, right now? Oh, yeah, because I killed the last person I had feelings for. But I just met this gentleman, how could I have feelings for him? Oh....he's quite handsome. I wonder what color his hair is....

"Oh! Sachaa. Or just Sash if you prefer."

At a time like this, tension, anxiety in the air, two people introducing themselves to one another, only one word could escape his concentration.

Awkward

Watching this supposed captain charm a fair maiden such as this women seemed to be was quite entertaining. The cockiness must be nearly a facade or he may truly be as dense has he is acting. These two flirting was like watching an elf and dwarf dance, awkward but yet you had to stare. Feeling more relaxed at his current state Naara took his sword off of his belt while still encased in it's sheath. Sitting down on what appeared to be someones old front steps, resting his chin upon the hilt of his sword.

To think I wouldn't have any entertainment today, and for once I do not have to make an early exit on the account causing damage to private property.

Staring at the woman he suddenly felt power, analyzing her from head to toe he began to realize nothing seemed off. Her golden blond hair was normal, along with her cloths body down to her shoes. Than it caught his eye, the blade, something about that weapon rubbed him the wrong way, but she wasn't on his bad side so it could be alright for now.
Than his eyes moved to the side, observing the officer. Obviously he was young but had an aura about him, confidence. Not the confidence that a rookie has after being given his rank but confidence that grows with each battle.

I'll have to watch this one too

"Don't let me interrupt I'm not here"
as he winked to Jin in encouragement.

Jin's eyes observed her more and more, her hair matched his and her eyes, eyes of pain and kindness. Jin only saw kindness, the kind that only came from a mature woman. The it hit him. Those sweet eyes showed a enduring love, love for someone else. Jin had seen such eyes before, he himself experienced love once. This woman must have experienced it for years.

Ah Sachaa, I like it, it rolls off the tongue nicely. She seems very nice and I like her. She so hot! Hehe. What's with this guy though. Eh, who cares I actually am having a conversation with a girl. She's not married! Jackpot!

Jin walked toward her as he went to grab her hand. Kneeling down as he waited for her hand to be placed in his. Smiling up at her as he eventually reached for her wrist. Pulling it down he cupped her hand and held it to his heart.

"In that case my dear, I must."

Tilting his head down as he moved his lips to her hand. Lightly kissing it he set it free. His hands dropping to his side as he continued to stay on his knees. Looking into her eyes, waiting for a response. Jin shifitng his eyes once more to the unknown man.

"Take in all the information you want, why else would you standby watching my actions like a hawk. Sign of a warrior perhaps? Possibly a on the run criminal? Hmm Well, either way I care not. This sweet young lady is more important."

The sad thing was Jin wasn't lying. He had just met her and was already to committing a relationship if it meant his everyday duties, taking care of the bad guys. Jin's eyes moved to Sachaa's showing vulnerability and nervous tension.

Sachaa cleared her throat, finding herself gazing in disbelief at the Captain as he took her hand and knelt on his knees. This was surely a sight. She looked to the other, who now sat watching them, beginning to stammer and stumble on her words. What could she say to what Jin had just said? There was something spontaneous and risky about it, she almost immediately accepted (mostly because of his charm...it seemed to work well).

Damn being a hopeless romantic....why does every guy I meet have to make it so difficult? Well, let's weight out the facts, now, Sash. He's a Captain, a fine looking gentleman, he's seen pain and death, and has fought many a battle. He seems respectable and well-rounded, even with his excitable confidence. Ohh...what do I even say?

Sachaa gave a small smile, looking to the side before looking back to Jin. She let her hands take his as they dropped to his side, and her head tilted slightly.

"Captain, I....I think that if you have an intention of marrying me, perhaps we should start with a courtship..."

There. It wasn't anything Sachaa was used to, especially after the betrayal of Hera, but hopefully, maybe things could end up working themselves out. Optimism, right? She certainly had to think so. Her eyes then snapped to the Genasi, narrowing slightly. She didn't care for the sarcasm he had to offer, but would toss it off. So long as he wasn't a problem, at the moment. Eventually, Sachaa stood, tugging Jin back to his feet.

It was always nice to take leaps of faith. Today, she'd taken one, and...perhaps it would work. If not, then, perhaps she would remain alone for the rest of her years. No use in continuing to get hurt.

Naara brought his right hand up to whip his eye, pretending he was touched by the events taking place before him.

"Did I just witness and engagement? I am honored!"

The sarcasm came natural, Naara was a free spirit, letting his natural reactions guide him, it's a shame that they usually got him into to trouble. Noticing what a sappy moment he was observing he began to wonder what a coincidence it was that the two before him met and hit it off, in the ancient ruins, as he was passing through.

That's when he felt it, a presence that wasn't there before. Accompanying it came the feeling of being watched. Glancing to the rubble through the corner of his eye he placed his hand back were it was.

I hope my outstanding debts haven't lead to collectors. I really don't want to fight in this place, if i was going to fight i would have stayed at the pub with that schmuck.

Trying to observe everything he could looked back at the two before him. Trying to sense any change using his peripheral vision. Not wanting to alarm those who appeared to be so distracted by each other to notice he decided to wait to see who this presence was.
