Malaure was bored and looking out from the edge of Memphian Falls. She wasn’t quite sure what she was going to do with her day and watched the water slowly falling down into the lake bellow. It was then an interesting idea came to her. She stood up flexing her wings and then dove over the side of the water fall. It was fun descending down next to the water fall. As she dove she created a bit of water in the air next to her. She mainly wanted to see what would happen when she did this and was found it interesting that it seemed to fall about the same speed as the waterfall it’s-self. She then turned into the water she just created, enjoying the cooling feeling. However, it was at this point she realized a flaw with her plan. She still had her clothes on and they were going to get very wet at this rate. Thinking to herself, ‘hmmm…. Well my bag certainly isn’t water proof and I am already diving and wet clothes are heavy. I know I will just take them off for now and I can dry them off in the sun when I am done. Or build a fire if I need to. ‘ Malaure looked around and didn’t see any other fliers, so she decided it was safe enough. She then worked on removing her all her clothing and stuffing it to a bag on her hip that was attached with a rope. Free of her clothes she then started flying around in more complex maneuvers. She didn’t care if she was doing anything right or wrong she was just enjoying herself. Soon enough she started to occasionally dive through the water fall for brief moments, before flying around for another dive alongside the falling water. It was fantastic fun flying with the wind and water. “Wooo hooo, now this is what you call living.” |

This seemed to be her favourite area. Even though she had only been here a short time, Cascadia seemed to have the most beautiful waterfalls. She had been wandering around the city for most of the day, but now she had decided to spend some time in the water. Walking up to one of the waterfalls, she noticed a dragoness that was repeatedly jumping off the edge and falling with the water. Surprisingly, it looked like it was a lot of fun. The anthro-Pegasus was just wearing a simple short black dress, so she wasn’t too worried about her clothing getting wet. Thanks to her heritage, she did not have many features to show off, so even if she was to walk around without her dress, nobody would be offended. She had enough fur to cover anything that might be shown off anyway, but she always liked wearing something. Pants never seemed to fit over her hoofs, so dresses seemed to be the way to go. She walked up to the waterfall, waiting for the dragoness to come up to the top again, and then jumped with her. “Wooo hooo!!!” she yelled out, showing indirectly that she agreed that this was a lot of fun, even though she never actually heard the dragoness yell it out. It couldn’t be denied, though, wind and water belonged together. When she caught up to her in the waterfall, she yelled over the noise of the wind, “Do you do this often?” she asked, then looked down to see how close they were to the ground. She always had to make sure she made soft landings, because her hoofs would crack if she landed too hard. |

Malaure was surprised when she heard another voice and looked to see a blue furry person in a black dress. She had never seen this sort of person before, but at least it was clear that this new arrival was female and she was glad of that. If it had been a guy she would have been horribly embarrassed. Still this new person wasn’t a guy so, Malaure now had a friend to enjoy the day with. She twisted a little making room for her new companion to come in a little closer. She also answered the girl’s question. “No not really I just like do random things and today seemed like a good day to race a water fall towards a lake. My name is Malaure and you are?” Malaure was interested in this new person. It would be fun to talk to someone who also found this as fun as she did. Still it seemed they were getting about a third of the way down the waterfall. She wondered how far they could go before pulling up. There wasn’t any land bellow them really as the water flowed from the floating island above directly into the lake bellow. She was even contemplating, just continuing the dive right into the water. She was wet enough already that a swim wouldn’t hurt…. Then again she now had someone with her, so maybe it wasn’t the time to try that. She would have to ask this person what she thought of the idea. |

She was really glad that this dragon was a nice one. It would really be too bad if she had turned her away, but when she said she just enjoyed doing random things and asked what her name was, it really cheered her up. “My name is Morianna, but you can just call me Lani if you like.” She said, smiling at her. Her smile wasn’t creepy or anything, it was just one of those friendly smiles that people made when talking to new, nice people. Lani moved her wings about so that she was going the same speed as the water, and swerved in and out of the water for a bit. At first, she was really close to losing her sense of direction, but she enjoyed the feeling of the water on her body, so she wasn’t about to avoid the water for any reason, unless it meant that she was going to drown. “Random things like what?” she couldn’t help but wonder what kinds of things this lady found fun. If racing a waterfall to a lake was fun, she was sure her other ideas would be pretty different as well, most likely involving falling from a great distance, or having to use her wings a lot. It definitely wasn’t every day that Lani tried something like this. As they kept sliding through the air with the water, Lani knew it would be a good idea to start pulling up once they were about half way down. She enjoyed flying, but the one thing that she couldn’t get off her mind was falling too fast and breaking her bones or dying from the impact on the ground. The ground had a lot of things wrong with it, in her mind. There were too many things you had to consider if you wanted to move it around or go underneath of it. She had heard too many stories about the ground collapsing into tunnels and caves, entrapping whoever was inside. As she shook her thoughts away from all the things she hated about the ground, she let her mind be comforted as she swerved in and out of the water again, her smile returning to her face. |

Malaure found that Lani to be a nice person and she was fun too. She found her smiling back at Lani with an equally amount of friendliness. She was about to respond when she noted the girl pulled up about halfway down so she decided to stay with her for the moment pulling up as well. After pulling back around for her next pass she responded to Lani’s question. “Oh all sorts of things, like exploring old caves, doing adventuring jobs, doing stuff like this. I once tried jumping a ravine without using my wings. Almost made it too, but had to use my wings for the last few feet. If you want I can tell you more stories…” As she was talking she suddenly had a fun idea. “Hey I just had a thought wana play game for a bit. I haven’t done this game since I was a kid, but it is fun. First I do a trick then you copy and add to it. Then I copy the entire thing and add something more. We keep going until we run out of things to add to trick.” It was a bit random, but if Lani agreed to play Malure’s first trick would be doing a simple loop in the air. She hoped Lani would play as it would be fun coming up with ideas that could involve the water fall. Plus it wasn’t just a game it was a way to train your flying skills too. The entire time Malaure also found herself wondering what race Lani was. She had never seen a person that looked like her before. She put those thoughts in the back of her head for the moment as there was still plenty of this fine day left. She would have an opportunity to find out more about Lani at some point. |
