Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Nen walked through the forest at a steady unhurried rate, she was on her way to Norwood village with no particular goal in mind. It was just another stop on her wanderings, a place to rest and stay for a few days before setting off again. She had been considering joining some sort of group or guild for a change of pace, perhaps some mercenaries of some sort.

Unfortunately, after she got that idea she had not heard of or found any such groups that might interest her. So she simply continued traveling, it was nice to be able to see the world, despite the... event that had sparked her sudden interest in being far away from home. The forest was a peaceful one, a welcome change of pace from all the cities she had been frequenting lately. ..not that she would complain once she got back to civilization.

The walk was unbreable, a long tireing walk through the forest was not what he had in kind, but atleast chaos was smart enough to walk on a path this time and not get lost in the deep rough brush. The dirt path was relativly straight, a few twist and turns, winding through the deep forest. Chaos walked, his weapons chained to his body, armor glinting in the sunlight, it was almost a scary sight to anyone looking at him from a distance. His deep red skin, evil face and a even more evil presence. Chaos was not someone you wanted to meet on the path.

He walked along still, tired but eager to get to away from the blasted village. He was going to make his way back to balefire, his most favorite place to be. He hated the woods and needed a change in pace. Today looked like a calm event less day, until up head a figure could be seen. And he just knew something would happen.

Upon seeing the demon, Nen blanched a little, but then carefully controlled her expression to be perfectly calm as she continued on walking. Despite their appearance, perhaps they were friendly, or indifferent. She fervently hoped that it was the latter, if they could simply walk past each other without incidient she would be perfectly fine with that.

As the approached each other, the Avariel stepped to the side, leaving enough room for both of them to pass by each other on the path. "They better leave me alone, peaceful forest or not, I do not particularly want to get eaten or something." she thought, carefully eying Chaos with a neutral expression, showing no outward signs of panic or fear, save for a slightly quickened heartbeat, and if one were to look closely, sweat dripping down her brow.

As Chaos neared the woman on the path, he could tell she was not eager to pass by the demon, most people he meet wernt after all. Who would want to walk side by side a blood thirsty demon on the road huh? Demons were crazy insane beast who could not be controlled and trusted to walk on a road with out killing some one right, so of course this female needed to be scared, cause he was going to with out a doubt eat her. Thats what chaos hated, the persucution he got from everyone, the world needed evil or good would not exist, so why must he be judged worse than those of the good light, they to were of the same nature, just compared to him they seemed better.

Chaos actually decided to leave this lady alone, not wanting to cause a scene and maybe even a death on this local road. No he just wanted to get to balefire as fast as he could, no interuptions and no problems. But this woman wanted different, or so it seemed to the beast. As they neared each other Chaos could see the woman vear off to the side oh so slightly. To any normal sane minded person this was ok to do, she was just allowing room for the obvious large demon to pass by with out being nudged. But to him it was a insult, as if she had planned to move when he arrived. Taking to steps pass he spun around, making a very large amount of noise in the process.

So you think im not good enough to walk by on the road huh? Am i not as great as you to share the road with, you have to scoot over a little to not catch my illness. Chaos snarled as he spoke, his deep dark voice echoing out in the woods. His blood stained teeth could be seen against the black back drop, and the foul odor of death and the stench of rotten flesh escaped into the air. his cutter was obvious on his back, his armor sparking with fire and ignis, his flaming blade, chained to his waist. He was overally angery that this woman had to nerve to move over for him.

When Chaos decided to have a little tantrum, Nen did what any sane mortal would do when confronted with a heavily armed six foot eight demon. She kept walking, her expression was one of fear, but she was looking away from the demon, and managed to keep her voice calm as she responded, not even bothering to look at him. "I was making sure that there was enough room for you, I would have done that for anybody."

She shook her head, breathing deeply in an attempt to calm down, her heart thumping at an insane pace as she started coming close to panic. At first she had thought that they would be able to pass by each other without incident. "Calm down calm down calm down, why did I just insult him by not even looking at him... maybe he will think I am confident, powerful enough to take him on. Its just a giant demon, you can do this, bluff bluff bluff."

It was hopeless at this point, but there was always the running option if all else failed, hopefully.

Chaos was not the clam, nice patient person alot of people seemed to be. He did not put up with others, he did not tolerate alot, and he most of all hated to feel like someone looked down on him. The woman had already made her first mistake by scooting over to pass him by. To her it was a polite gesture, meant to allow room on the road. But to him it was a rude offensive move, that was only going to get worse. The second, and maybe a even more rude move was to not face him while he spoke. A evil grimace appeared onto his face, making him even more angery than he already was. At first he planned on just pushing her around and scareing her into respecting him, but now he was going to do much more, she was to pay.

The ground beneath his feet began to heat up, the tips of the grass blades burning off next to the road. The dirt pacted to the ground as his armor caught fire, the engulf enchantment ablaze on his body armor, flames licking up at the sky, smoke burning off his body as his eyes grew a deep evil red. He was now angery and things were about to get real hot. He placed hsi hand on the handle of ignis and gripped it firmly, the flames of the sword dancing on its chain. Look at me when i am talking to you! you pathetic girl, you deserve nothing but death! A blood thirsty roar was sent flying out through the air, a lust for blood in his tone. She had one more chance to mend things before the demon was unleased.

This time, Nen turned as Chaos spoke, already nearly ten feet away from the demon as he yelled at her, his roar shaking through the area of the forest that they were in. She raised her hands and traced two symbols in the air, one with each hand. As she did so, she muttered several words in order to activate the spell. A globe of water weighing two pounts came into existance directly above Chaos's head, barely two inches away, probably enough to drench the demon if he did not notice it and dodge before it fell. If he was already running forward by the time she was done, the spellblade was sure to aim it such that he would simply run into it

She then turned and ran away from Chaos, there was a turn in the path, but she did not take it, opting instead to attempt to dash through the underbrush and around tree's, her gloomwood leather boots and armor muffling any sound she made into near complete silence as she attempted to evade the demon. "That was a very very bad idea, but I doubt I could have made things better, and demon or, not, I am not going to be polite to someone so impolite, you reap what you sow after all." Besides, what was done was done, it was too late to take back the attempted soaking, and the insult of not even paying him much attention.

The woman turned this time, after his rant and tantrum. But he did nto expect what she was about to do at all. Most people would have done one of two things, keep running and try to get away from the demon, or turn around and be all shy and intimidated by the beast. So as her body turned to face him, he half expected to see a scared face, a shy demenor about the woman. But this was not at all what he saw. with out even speaking her hands moved through the air making some sort of rune. Then wiht out warning a large amount of very cold water dropped ontop of his head. The water gushed down his face, soaking his hair, and splashing onto his armor. The fire was put out and his anger was raised.

It was a very gutsy and brave start, it could have escalated into a glorious battle. but yet again this woman would take the path of the coward, turning and running down the dirt path. Fear of what the demon would do to her body was absolutly instilled into her mind, afraid that he would seek revenge, well she was right about that. He watched as she turned off the path and headed down into the forest, trying to throw him off. But this was going to be way easier than she expected. Useing the power of the demon inside of him he sensed her alignment, which also placed her location in the forest. With a evil smile he gripped ignis.

Like gas to a fire, his armor erupted in a wonderful display of fire, claoking his body and giving off a extreme amount of heat. The water on his body and face was almost instantly evaporated as the flames rose off his armor. The smile grew even more evil as he felt the woman runningt through the woods, scared like a small child of the darkness. With the speed of a blink chaos was gone, and now standing not even three inchs in front of the woman who had fled. If she was still running at full speed, she would have slammed into his body, bounching off his armor and getting stabbed by the many small spikes sticking out from his body.
