| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Yet again, she found herself in the middle of the ancient city ruins, picking for plants that looked really strange. She was out on another errand for her grandfather, but this time she had something to defend herself with. Last time she was here, she came across a blood thirsty demon that made her go into the ground where he couldn’t fit just to get a stone shard that would increase his power a bit more. She couldn’t help but wonder if that ghostly elf was still here. She also hoped that the demon she had encountered was still trapped in that elf’s spells. She looked around the area, at the tall pillars and the fallen walls of the once amazing structures. She treaded through the grass, stepping over sharp stones so that her paws wouldn’t get hurt. She also made sure that there were no thorny plants that would grab onto her ankles. She was in her cat form, appearing more cat-like than human. The newest potion for her was made so that she wouldn’t be able to shapeshift into any sort of humanoid form, but at least this current form still had opposable thumbs so that her paws still had the dexterity of human hands. Her appearance was very close to that of a wild ocelot cat, so anyone that liked cats would think she was absolutely adorable. On this errand, she was to look for a couple specific types of plants. Her grandfather understood that it might take a while for her to find it, but at least they knew that the plants could only be found in these ruins, so she had to find them eventually. She looked around the area, feeling a bit nervous. She could only hope that that crazy demon was either still asleep, or very, very far away from here right now. The only thing keeping her company was her furfur, which was nestled comfortably on her shoulder. |

Wethrin had sent Rimmon on some errand to these accursed ruins. Shalia had seen him give her to potion that had allowed her to take the form of this feline. She despised all the potions that insane drow forced the girl to take. He had managed to make herself drink a couple, but thus far had not exactly seemed to like the outcome they had on her. Her draconic nature resisted the changes too much. But that did not seem completely beneficial to her, as Wethrin only took it as a challenge. She wondered what he was trying to brew now that would have a more powerful effect on her. After sending Rimmon off, Wethrin seemed to think it was a good idea to send her after the child. He claimed it was only natural for a mother to watch over her child. He seemed to have found some way to make Rimmon believe that he was her grandfather. And now was trying to make Shalia believe that he was her father. The tiefling scoffed at the notion. But for the sake of her mission, she would pretend it was so. Although she could not wait to place a sword in her dear ‘father’s’ gut. Of course she had not been able to leave without some….alterations. Bright red fur, matching her hair color covered her body. A pair of feline ear had replaced her normal human-like ones. For all purposes she looked like some red cat-folk woman. The oddest thing about her appearance was her tail…or tails. She did not know what Wethrin had added to the potion to make it powerful enough to work on her. But whatever it was it made her have a total of seven tails. As annoying as this form was to her, it at least did not hinder her movements at all. Which meant if she had to fight, she would be able to fight to her full capability. Which was good, because she did not trust these ruins. What in the nine hells did Wethrin need from this place anyways? She looked over the ruins and was glad to see Rimmon moving around down there. Currently the child looked like some sort of cat from this plane. Shalia crouched down and watched her as she looked around. Rimmon clearly knew what she was looking for. She knew the child would be happy to see her, and would be thrilled to have her help in this errand. But for the moment Shalia preferred to remain unseen. Silently she watched over the child, ready to attack anyone or anything that dared harm the lass. |

Rimmon continued on through the ruins, still looking for a particular plant. She wasn’t looking at all of the plants, however, as if there was a certain colour that she needed. One plant that she failed to notice though, caught onto the fur around one of her back paws, and the thorns on the plant caused her to suddenly stop and back up. As she turned around and sat down to look at the plant that had grabbed onto her, she analysed it, and then sighed. She recognized it as the same plant that caught her last time she was here, except it was bigger now. She looked around the area to make sure there weren’t any big nasty demons around, and then took out her dagger, which by now had become very dull due to the lack of use and lack of care that it received over the passed... few years... Despite the dull blade, she still tried to stab at the plant to make it let go. She was trying to slice the thorns apart from the plant so that she could just pick them off herself, but the blade didn’t do the trick this time. As she tried thinking of other things she could do, her ears went down in frustration. She tried using her dagger to hold the plant back while she tugged her paw away from it, but that only seemed to pull her fur out. She then started looking around on the ground for something to sharpen her dagger with, but it was all just grass and other plants. She lay down on the ground, pretending like she was just taking a rest, but she was still trying to think of ways to make the plant let go, or to just gather up the courage to rip her paw away from the plant. She kept her eyes open this whole time, and just looked at the details of her surroundings. She caught a glimpse of a red cat-folk, but did not recognize it as the Shalia that she knew, so she didn’t think anything on it, and continued to look around the area and think to herself. |

Shalia sighed as the girl tugged at the plant she was trapped in. She really needed to learn how to care for her weapons. A dull weapon was useless, as Rim was learning from her futile efforts. The tiefling looked around checking for any enemies. When she saw none she walked over to Rimmon. She firgured the girl would not recognize her and might panic. That would only make her life more frustrating, so she decided it was best to let the child know who she was. "Don't worry, it's me," she said. "I'm Shalia. Your...grandfather...was worried and sent me to help you out. And it seems like you have gotten yourself into a bit of trouble. Stay still a moment." She took out her blade and carefully cut away the plant until Rim could pull her foot free. "You should take better care of your weapons," she said. "A dull blade won't do you any good in a pinch." (ooc:sorry for taking so long to reply....) |

Rimmon saw the lady walking over, and as she got closer and closer, her eyes remained glued on her as if she was trying to figure something out about her. Soon enough, she found out that she was a familiar face. If it weren’t for that plant, she would have jumped up and gave Shalia a tight hug. She was trembling with happiness when the cat-folk said straight out who she was. It felt really good to see her again. She did her best to stay still while Shalia cut her foot free, and then as soon as she was free, she jumped up and threw her arms around Shalia’s waist. She didn’t care if Shalia didn’t want a hug or not because Rimmon was so happy to see her. “I don’t know how to take care of my weapons. I’m sorry.” She said, still with her arms wrapped tightly around her. Even though she only ever had the one dagger, she still replied with the plural of ‘weapon’ just to properly respond to the statement. “I missed you Shally.” She said, like a kid wanting to spend time with her idol. ((sorry it’s short. I have no idea how she’ll react to the hug, so I’m waiting lol my next post will be better)) |

Shalia was more than a little surprised when the girl suddenly wrapped her arms around her. Hugging was not something that the tiefling did...ever. When Rim called her "Shally" she felt a surge of rage wash over her, but supressed it. The child ment no harmd...but she did hate the nickname. Without returning the hug, Shalia gently untangled Rim's arms from around her waist. "I told you before, its Shalia," she said as calmly as she could. "I can show you how to care for your weapon later. But for now we best finish your task for your grandfather." With that she stood up and ushered the girl to lead the way. She was not completely sure what Rimmon needed to find, but she would stay close by to keep an eye on her. ((sorry for short and late reply)) |
